Wenger finally losing it?

I fear that might be the case. I cannot see how he can keep pedalling the line about how difficult it is to buy players when Spurs - the team we beat to the final Champions League squad - have broken their transfer record twice and have brought in four players that would walk straight into our side. It's mental.

Is there really a point to offer him a new contract?

I really can't see this window ending well for us. We need six players or we're going to be short.

Giroud and Sanogo aren't enough up front. We need a new striker. Gervinho's been sold and Oxlade-Chamberlain is crocked, so we now need another wide man. We only have two fit centre-halves, so we need another of those, and Szczesny's been so erratic lately an experienced goalkeeper wouldn't go amiss. A defensive midfielder is desperately warranted and a creative midfielder in the Herrera/ Cabaye mould would be handy too.

i think we might sign 2, maybe 3 players, but that won't be enough.

You'e also been linked with Paul Pogba now, for £20m. It's become a circus now.

I just don't know what to believe anymore. I reckon there's around 100 players we've been linked with in some form or another this summer. It's mental.

You can't count 15-year-olds. We signed one at the beginning of the season anyway.

What about Podolski?

What about Podolski?

He's not a natural winger and looks uncomfortable out on the left. He's not a starter at the moment either.

Regardless of who we have left, we've sold Gervinho, released Arshavin and lost Oxlade-Chamberlain to a long-term injury. Miyaichi's out injured as well. We need at least one other wide man.

It no longer matters who we sign during the rest of this season. Our main targets (if there even was any) are not available and as usual we'll be left to buy whatever shit thats left over because we're/Wenger is too tight to pay more than what he believes a player is worth. Plus they will all be at a much higher price due to the wonderful comments made from Gazidis a couple of months or so ago, telling the world how much money we have so that every club in the land can ask a little bit more when Arsenal come knocking.

Then of course we also appear to be losing the bit of class that was once associated to us when trying to sign players. The £40m+£1 bid for Saurez was an insult to Liverpool and the bid for Cabaye yesterday just before a match was completely out of order too (though i do hate Pardew, so it was a little bit funny). Do the people at the top really think that by going around and showing no respect to other clubs is gonna make them want to sell us their best players? As it seems to be the way we now do our business, its embarrassing.

I really could go on and on about what i feel is wrong with our club atm.

Finally, hello again everyone.

This transfer window has seen hyperbole go to the next level.

Suarez bid 'insulting' and the club activity 'embarrassing' is ridiculous. You thought Suarez had a clause in his contract that let him leave when a bid of £40m was made, why should you pay a penny more than that if that had been the case? I mean, I guess it's a bit embarrassing that you went after as despicable a cunt as Suarez, but that's not what you meant so I assume you don't really care about that.

It's disappointing, from your point of view, to so obviously need players and not get them but people have been spouting that embarrassing line about United all summer no matter what we do and it's ridiculous in both scenarios. Sometimes you just have to trust that things will turn out alright in the end and support your club, there's no point twisting the knife in when everyone else is waiting to do that for you anyway.

I blame Twitter, it's constant deluge of shite makes people think that things are happening when they aren't.

Suarez bid was not 'insulting', it was smart. And the Cabaye bid was made on Sunday, Pardew just mentioned it on Monday to deflect from the fact that he was gonna get hammered by City anyway

Aye considering we got beat 4-0 by City in March with Cabaye in the side, its not exactly justified using it as an excuse this time round.

We still could have done without it on the verge of the game, mind.

A stretched posterior cruciate ligament for Chamberlain. Much better than a rupture and having surgery, considering it's nonsense to suggest he'd be back inside six months, more like a total rehab of about nine to get back properly.

Not gonna happen either. Juve have pretty much said it's a waste of time trying, which is no surprise. Plus he'll be starting now most likely given Marchisio is out injured.

Wenger simply refuses to change with the times.
