Graham Hunter‏@BumperGraham13m
So many #United fans asking about Özil that despite the abuse I got for reporting the club's market earlier this summer, here's what I know

Graham Hunter‏@BumperGraham10m
#Özil not happy at the threat of Isco and #Bale to his place. Özil's father is actively seeking to place him in the Prem. #United

Graham Hunter‏@BumperGraham10m
#Özil however an initial approach to #United one week ago, brought no encouragement at all. Don't know if that has changed, but doubt.

Graham Hunter‏@BumperGraham7m
For what it's worth I think #Özil has become a sensational footballer, much tougher, under JM.
raphael honigstein‏@honigstein4m
For thoughts on Özil to Man Utd, check @BumperGraham 's tl. Tallies 100% with what I've been told

FWIW, seems like Ozil wants to come to us but we're not really fussed, if you believe Hunter and Honigstein (I don't really trust Hunger, but Hongistein normally seems spot on).

What's Hunter like on transfer rumours? His book about Barca was really good.

He was massively wrong about Thiago earlier this summer (bleated on and on about 80% United, deal close etc..) only for Thiago to sign for Bayern and say that we'd never spoken to him, never really seen him talk about anything else. Wouldn't have posted it if Honigstein hadn't agreed with him.

Weird since he seems to know Thiago quite well, lived in the same apartment complex or something.

Genuinely one of the weirdest looking blokes I've ever seen.

Has he got his own jigsaw yet?

I'd rather we go for Gundogan ahead of anyone else. Ozil/Mata would be good signings, but Kagawa's chances would then be limited, although Mata can play on the wing. CM is a priority, and Gundogan would fit the player we need. Bid £30M for him, would rather have him than Fellaini.

If we can get him Gundogan is about as good as there is, but I don't think he's available and there's no way we'd go close to paying as much as they'd want if it came to forcing their hand. Doubtful he'd even want to leave.

There's not a chance in hell that you're getting Gundogan. You have more chance with Ozil or Mata.

I think the only thing it has going for it is that no matter how you look at it there is a perception that Dortmund aren't an absolute top draw team, which Gundogan may share. I remember people saying basically that exact line up until virtually the minute before Götze left for Bayern.

I can't adequately stress how unlikely I think it is (I mean, I don't think we're even trying to sign him regardless of anything else) but I'm never really 100% sure when making predictions about Dortmund.

If the right offer comes in I could see Gundogan coming, but realistically (as I said) we'll probably end up with Fellaini.

What am I saying? Realistically we'll get no one.

You keep saying 'we'll probably end up with Fellaini' as if that's an awful thing. He's a great player and I'd love him at Arsenal.

He is a good player, but after Woodward's comments of no one being off limits if we end up with Fellaini then it's disappointing. It's made us look desperate for signings.

He'll be okay at United, but not great tbh.

Aren't you?

I get what you mean though, even if you are desperate for signings, giving that impression isn't a good idea.

Exactly what they need.

My thoughts exactly. I don't understand the negativity surrounding him from some United fans. He's perfect for them.

Very few players can do what he does.

I guess the frustration and desperation of our transfer window might be clouding my judgement on him. He is a really good player, he would add something to our midfield we've not really had since Keane, whom we've never replaced (Alan Smith, Liam Miller lol). Plus he is very versatile, although I'd prefer midfielder like Gundogan, but if push comes to shove I'll be happy with Fellaini, as long as we don't pay an inflated fee.

I'd rather get Fellaini than Mata or Ozil because we don't need a player there. I don't want to see Moyes limit Kagawa's playing time, because he is awesome. And I'd like us to focus on youth, Adnan and Powell.

We've had a summer being linked to midfielders like Fabregas, Modric and Thiago and people can't see why their might be a little bit of unenthusiasm about Fellaini?

He's a good player, he'd be a decent option and he'd instantly be our 2nd best midfielder. That much is obvious, but I think he's a little bit over-rated by many and is limited in what he can realistically do for us. It would be a decent summer if we ended up with him, that much is obvious but it doesn't finally solve our midfield problems once and for all, which is what many were hoping for.

Still, a first team midfielder for the first time since 2007 wouldn't go amiss, and he has the added bonus of not being Hargreaves or Anderson, it's been 7 years since we actually signed someone good there.

Nah we really do, we lack creativity through the middle massively. Which is why we're so predictable going forward. A player like Fabregas, Thiago or Modric would improve us ten fold. There's games where we do miss a player like Fellaini, but I do worry in the games where we genuinely need that type if he really has the mobility to be effective at it for us.

I really don't understand the Kagawa love in.

His first season was so-so, he had a few games when he looked good and others where he barely got into games, but its up to him to force his way into the team. I certainly don't understand him as justification for not signing players like Fabregas, or Ozil who are better than him and would improve us.

But I meant from deeper positions more which is where we've often looked hopeless.

Chelsea Football Club can confirm an agreement has been reached with both Willian and his club Anzhi Makhachkala for the transfer of the Brazilian player.

The transfer is subject to a work permit hearing on Wednesday.

Guess it's happened then. Somewhat surprised, but not complaining.

Kagawa had quite a few injuries last season and was playing out of position most of the time.

He showed glimpses of how good he will be, play him behind RVP with a sorted out midfield behind him and he'll be brilliant.

He plays off the left for Japan, I'd hardly argue its a completely alien position for him. Regardless, he's not stamped any authority over his position. I agree with you that he'll come good eventually, but so far there's little he's shown to even put him in the same breath as players like that, let alone by justification for not signing them.
