Been doing alot more climbing out on rides recently and really been enjoying it, can feel myself getting faster on them, set like 6 PB's on climbs during todays ride.

Also stopped to take some photos a couple of times for a change, i know most people hate on the place they live but tbh i love it round here.

Same , did a category 2 on Saturday and Monday. Think I did it in 34 mins or so on Saturday and like 29 mins on Monday, so I knocked like 5 mins off in 2 days , delighted Would be sooo much fitter if I didn't have such a shit diet.

Btw , has anyone here done the Insanity workout before?

Right, anyone got any ideas for a simple high protein low carb lunch?

All the other meals I can do fine, but I can't think of anything to get from the shops that is convenient to eat when I'm at work. I've been eating a tuna sandwich normally but would love ideas that don't have the bread.

Wraps? Or take a salad with some grilled chicken or something in.

Do they have flavoured cottage cheese in England?

Tortilla wraps are worse than bread, iirc.

I think if I walked in to work with a lump of cheese in this heat I would get lynched.

Has anyone done the Insanity workout? It runs for 60 days, and judging by photo's and what people say it totally transforms your body.

Now since I started cycling I've gotten much fitter and my leg's have gotten much stronger, but upper body I don't have much to show off. Havn't been arsed to do any core work but this Insanity programme looks decent.

Never heard of insanity but I'm sceptical of anything that looks gimmicky, because it probably is.

If you really want to get stronger then you can't go wrong with Stronglifts or Starting Strength.

Starting Strength booklet and google Stronglifts pdf for their one.

I've started to get back into cycling for the first time in years. Only doing around 10 miles a day as a start but it's getting to the point now where my arse isn't in pain for the whole ride and I feel okay when I finish.

Yeah I have been looking at cycles as well. I'm just at a loss of where to start especially with these hybrid cycles that are popping up in Halfords. I know road use and off road use will be involved though

Use a bit of lemon pepper in it and it livens it up.

It's the texture, I think, had a tub of cottage cheese and pineapple with apple and bannanas last night and I just wanted to vomit by the end of it.

Might pureeing it in a blender and make a sort of tuna sauce (obviously not the pineapple one) with it, would be an incrdible source of protein.

I hate the stuff when there is added stuff in. I prefer to get it plain or make it myself. The amount of acidity in that last night surely can't be good

Yeah I've got a tub of chive and onion one as well at the minute, which I think will be fine. Last time I had it I think I curdled it putting in in an omellette, it was gross but totally my fault.

Might just stick with plain in the future, seen a lot of people mixing it with chocolate whey protein and that seems a decent idea.

Chocolate? You could always just make it yourself as the curds aren't that hard

Why not? You ever tried that chocolate philly stuff? Its delicious and its not like cottage cheese has that distinctive a taste, its pretty bland.

Well I'm fit enough already, but I'm really only attempting the challenge to get a stronger core. Like, Insanity goes on for 60 days, but I won't be doing it everyday for 60 days. I'll just do it whenever I can tbh. I've college starting soon so I won't have time anyways. I'm quite a light person so I see myself more as a climber on the bike. A stronger core would help me immensely when I'm climbing.

Rode up Honister Pass in the lakes today, well rode most of it had to step of and walk abit for the first time ever. Still managed the majority of it, then watched the Tour of Britain pass over it in the afternoon. Weather was bloody horrible Still there was plenty of people up the top to see the race.

10% average with 3 sections at 25%, my hip seized up on the first 25% section so had to walk that bit but then managed to do the last 2 steep bits and the rest of the climb. The 25% bits were all pretty sheltered thankfully but then the easier parts of the climb were exposed so they were just as hard because of the headwind.

We did the side the pro's descended but tbh the pro's looked like they were finding it hard as well, nice to see them struggling now and then
