Newcastle have banned the Telegraph for saying there's a dressing room split, this is their response. If nothing else, this should serve as an entertaining sideshow to the relegation fight.

Seems to be a bad move. I've seen nothing about the 'split', but news of banning the Telegraph is widespread. Maybe Pardew is doing the media tactics as well.

On another note, I wonder if a journalist has even attempted to get banned from the Britannia on purpose.

We've banned the Daily Mail before so this is hardly a new idea of ours. But we do seem to be opening ourselves up for trouble.

Interesting though how little is made of the fact Ferguson regularly bans journalists.

I think The Sun are about to be added to the "banned" list, or at least sued, judging by the club's response to some crap about HBA going to the gym in a PSG kit.

Aye, HBA has came out and said he didn't even do it and the story was pure fabrication or something.

I'm unsure why we've started taking a hardline with journalists and papers - it's a common theme for the national papers to immediately start printing shite about Newcastle when they do badly, and sing the praises of them when they're doing well.

On a scale of 1 to 10 do you think we'll stay up?

This last few games has seen my mood slide down the scale at an alarming rate. If we don't beat QPR next weekend it could well be curtains.

Until today I was optimistic but after the referee gifted Wigan victory and took a victory from us, we're in significant trouble.

Our only hope is that Norwich take 0 points, which I think will happen. But that's the only reason I see to be cheerful.

We should, but by the sounds of things they made a game of it against Arsenal last night after the first 20 seconds.

At the minute the goals seemed to have dried up for us, so it's a bit of a worry just getting on the scoreboard.

Sunderland and Chelsea got 1 point from their 2 games vs them. Impressively. But I digress - if we can't beat QPR our status will be in supermassive trouble. Pardew has to get it across anything less than 3 points and we're stuffed.

As for Pardew, someone in the other threat mentioned Rene Girard should be chased as a successor. French press say we've been presented an offer to appoint him.

8 years and there are lots of break clauses apparently.

It's a one year rolling contract which lasts for 8 years.

Can be sacked for free at the end of any season if we wish.

Fed up of saying that

I think that's the first real impression of doubt that Pardew will be manager next year.

I'm not sure given we're reliant on Ben Arfa, who I think is still banned from the French squad after having a fight with him at the Euros.

I've not been able to find that anywhere online.

Got a link?

Derek Llambias said it on the radio after the 2-1 defeat by Reading.

Can't be arsed to search that far back but he's our Managing Director and is pretty much Ashley's puppet.

Yeah I really don't think Pardew will be on a full 8 year contract.

Ashley has been very smart with his money recently, giving Pardew an 8 year contract doesn't seem like his sort of thing.
Shola

Yep, common sense suggest he wouldn't offer a standard 8-year deal. Should also be noted that Ashley started doing loads of long term things, like 10 year season tickets, giving young players five year deals and Pardew and the coaching staff 8 year deals, Graham Carr was given a really long contract as well.

Would fucking love it if Yanga-Mbiwa scored from a corner. - Although isn't that tactic for Cisse, Colo or Gouffran to score? Or Taylor?

Well you can cancel, but I think the deadline is in February, and not many people are going to commit to cancelling with three months of the season left.

Season ticket price freezes though. Awesome deal imo. Although the £15 membership fee has went up.

It was just around when Keegan came back I think.

I remember seeing some bloke on the news whinging that he'd bought a 10 year ticket because Keegan was in charge and then Keegan ended up leaving pretty soon after

Judging by Pardew's comments about not caring if we beat 4-0 as long as we enjoy ourselves (not sure how that works) you maybe disappointed.
