If Cisse is against Wonga on the grounds that under Sharia law no-one/company can benefit from the lending of money, why was he so happy to promote Virgin Money and Northern Rock?

He's also apparently an absolute regular in casinos in Newcastle.

What about playing in the Premier League whilst it's sponsored by Barclays?

If true then he won't really have a leg to stand on.

I've never seen him in Aspers though \o/

Seen Dabizas there the other weekend and he was claiming Dennis Bergkamp didn't mean his awesome turn in like 98 or whenever it was.

Guardian Finance section on Islamic banks...

Though customers I've red elsewhere say that Islamic banks simply charge more on your loan outright rather than on interest.

Still means that they are making money from lending money, which is against Sharia Law.

Sharia Law is just the equivalent of saying 'Christian law'. The rules are in the Qu'ran, there is no one Sharia Law, it just means a law that is derived from Islamic practices. That's why Saudi Arabia has much more oppressive legislation in comparison to other Islamic countries, for example.

Also, hypocritical ninjas? What the fuck is that?

2001, and tbf Bergkamp said it was lucky in an interview.

£4M bid accepted for Gomis.

Us buying a player? Surely not?

Would be a good signing imo.

We need someone big to complement Cisse, Bent would've been too much of the same.

Think we might end up with a strikeforce of Gomis, Bent and Remy with Cisse packing his bags for Russia or whatever.

Which would be good.

Newcastle United FC ‏@NUFCOfficial
The club is aware of the article in today's Independent and has referred the matter to its lawyers. Thanks to fans who have raised concerns

Independent claiming that anti-semitic chanting aimed at Ashley

“The one I’ve heard him sing goes something like “Give us back our club you cockney c***”. The anti-Semitic ones make him laugh too, because, contrary to belief on Tyneside, he’s not even Jewish.”

Aren't Geordies stupid? Luckily the Southern press will tell them what's what.

That would be what the lawyers have been drafted in for then.

Much as I find the thought of Ashley singing along to the "fat cockney bastard chants" amusing, I'm pretty sure there's no record of our fans doing anti-semitic chanting. Surely if they did sing it would have been mentioned in the media at some point like the Mido bomb ones were a few years back.

Of course there's not. I don't think anyone, literally anyone has ever thought he was Jewish.

You just used the word 'racist' in regards to someone talking about religious garb. Take a look at it and then come again as you are wrong on all levels here.

Good news: Joe Kinnear made a signing
Bad news: It's an assistant for him - Mick Hartford, who last I heard had been fired by MK Dons for being a poor assistant manager. Oy vey.

I wasn't talking about that I was talking about the article.

And no I don't think it's racist but it's still a stupid thing to say.

An unexpected but welcome guest at the wedding reception of Paul and Janene on Saturday night was Newcastle midfielder Gael Bigirimana.

The youngster isn't involved in United's Portuguese training camp after close season international duty for England U20s, but was spotted doing some solo training on Tynemouth beach adjacent to the reception venue.

Bigi willingly posed for photos with the happy couple and stayed at the reception for an hour, mingling with other guests and signing autographs. Top lad
