Arsenal’s hunt for their new Head of Youth development has come to an end with Wolfsburg assistant manager Andries Jonker expected to be appointed in July.
Jonker will succeed Liam Brady as the Gunners’ youth chief following a lengthy search of European football’s most talented coaches by Ivan Gazidis.
51-year-old Jonker, who is currently assistant coach at Wolfsburg, has managed a number of clubs in Holland although his most notable role is for being interim boss at Bayern Munich.
Jonker’s other former roles include technical director for the Dutch FA and coaching alongside Louis van Gaal at both Barcelona and the aforementioned German giants Bayern.
Arsenal legend Brady is retiring at the end of the season after almost two decades leading the club’s youth and academy system.

We've had no fucking luck in the cups.

Napoli and Borussia Dortmund in the CL group stage followed by Bayern in the knockout round, Chelsea in the Capital One Cup, plus Spurs and Liverpool in the FA Cup.

It don't really bother me, you have to play and beat the better teams to win the competition so may as well do it early.

Decent day, Wenger will be signing a new contract and the deal with PUMA is finally announced and believed to be around £150m.

Do you guys agree with Piers Morgan (I'm sure there's others, but he tweets about it every day) that you need a world class striker before the end of the window if you want to win the league?

Morgan is cunt, but yes we do need a world class striker but i'd be amazed if we get one in January. It would obviously help us as Giroud has been fairly average for a couple of months now (i've often said i'd rather see Bendtner on the pitch) but Wallcott's absence will be a huge. I do believe we can still win the league without one, but that would also mean we need a lot of luck with injuries and that's something we've never really had.

Firstly, Piers Morgan is a fucking cunt and it bothers me greatly that he supports the same club as me.

Secondly, we could certainly so with a striker but for depth more than anything. Giroud is better than many Arsenal fans let on but the lack of depth behind him is extremely worrying. Walcott can do a job there but he's crocked until next season, Podolski is not cut out to operate as a lone striker and Bendtner is just not good enough for a title-challenging side. If Giroud stays fit we could still do with someone better, but if he gets injured we're well and truly fucked.

I refute the claim that we have to buy a striker to win the league though. We have the best defense in the league and for my money only Manchester City have a potentially better midfield than ours, so if we keep it tight at the back and goals come from plenty of players (Cazorla, Podolski, Ozil, Ramsey, Wilshere) then we're in with a shout.

Wenger should of bit the bullet and got Adebayor back in the summer.

I don't quite get the Piers hate.

I mean, he's not the most likeable guy but at the end of the day he's a passionate Arsenal fan who only wants the best for his team.

Fuck off. Adebayor is decent but a massive cunt and is getting way too much hype at the moment because he's scored a few. People seem to forget the long periods of time he stops giving a shit and does fuck all for the team.

If we'd listened to Piers Morgan then we'd have sacked Wenger and sold Ramsey ages ago.

He's mental. But for the first season he's always top class. Only Suarez/RVP/Aguero better than him. When he's up for it.

He basically said he was upset with the way Wenger went about his business by never signing world class players and questioned whether he had the ambition anymore - which he has proven him wrong with by buying Ozil.

And everyone on here was absolutely slating Ramsey at one point.

Ramsey was absolutely shite for a long period of time until really this season.

Obviously he was still getting over that horrific leg break and he's probably been your best player this season.

I for one was always frustrated by how often Ramsey was scapegoated by Arsenal fans and always felt like he could come good. The thing with Piers Morgan is that he genuinely seems to think he could do a better job than Wenger or that he knows more than him and the way he speaks about the club is infuriating.

Ramsey was brilliant throughout the whole of 2013 but fans of other teams only started to take notice when he started scoring a lot this season. He's been great for a while.

This season compared to last or anything he's produced in an Arsenal shirt is far better.

He's scoring goals and creating goals, personally I think he looks like a totally different player, he's on another level.
