So you're suggesting dropping a form player, for a big name?

More like dropping someone who's had their chance for someone who is the future I reckon.

Absolute bollocks, so if a player plays badly x amount of seasons ago they should never play for their country again? You pick on form not reputation, it's that kind of thinking that has fucked the national team since Sven took over.

I'm not saying that at all, I'm just saying if we're building for the future then we need to play our younger players. I was only playing devil's advocate anyway, I don't really give a shit about the national team.

Barkley isn't really a big name - but he could become one if he gets some playing time.

We've known for years what Downing can and can't do on the international stage, let's see what Barkley can give us.

Downing's off now anyway.

Young instead of Townsend, literally any holding midfield player over Barkley and Austin over Welbeck and that would be alright.

Think Bertrand deserves a go too, but so do Gibbs and Shaw.

Jones and Smalling aren't very good either. But neither are anybody else.

I don't get why Bertrand isn't in there. He should surely replace either Baines or Shaw.

Who? The only player I can really think of is Ryan Mason, and the main problem about him is he's not very good and has only played a handful of games for Spurs. Barry's been diabolical whenever I've seen him this season, and thats about it.

Mason isn't a holding midfielder and he has actually been decent for us this season, though not good enough for an England call. The only holding midfielder we have is Barry and he certainly shouldn't be in the the squad at the moment. Will probably end up with Milner playing there.

Jack Cork has had a solid season, as has Colback and Cattermole.

I know they're unfashionable and also not very good - but they're something.

There literally isn't one defensive minded midfielder in that squad. There's no wonder we get hammered by better sides.

Bertrand has been stiff to not get a chance. Also not sure how Cahill has been picked, he's been horrid for a lot of the season, but I suppose the lack of any other real quality central defenders with experience has saved him.

Austin has also been unlucky, deserves a crack considering his form in a completely horrid QPR side.

Koeman on the Forster injury: "Fraser is at hospital and it is looking bad"

I imagine that would mean Butland moves up to the senior squad. Or maybe Rob Green.

Looked like his knee popped out as he planted his foot.

Say it's a cruciate gone or perhaps dislocated knee.

There's no point having players playing for the sake of playing if you don't have them. Those 3 (with the possible exception of Jack Cork although he's not a world beater and unlikely to improve much) just aren't good enough.

The only workable midfield England have got is something like Carrick at the base, Henderson going box to box and someone else alongside them but I doubt you're ever going to get that because you've somehow got to fit Rooney, Kane and Sturridge in up top.
