Fucking hell, tighten up. All of them have been so loose so far.

Trott's dismissal was appalling.

At this rate we'll leave Australia with a target of about 350. To be honest I fancy us get them all out within that, given how shit both sides have been with bats in hand.

Yeah, that's why this was a good decision. Even if we bat as badly as they did (and we're doing a good impression of them) then we're still in the driving seat.

I suppose the saving grace is that it has definitely made for entertaining viewing.

If England actually turn up today and bat well they'll kill Australia.

Is there any particular reason as to why England are wearing whites and not creams?

Looks tacky and reminds me of playing junior cricket back in the day.

That whitewash looks a lot more realistic now and the scary thing is Cook, Trott and Pietersen can all improve.

On the other hand, so can the entire Australian batting line up.

I mean, surely they can't produce much worse.

I honestly don't think they're that good.

Compared to previous teams, definitely not. However there are a few players amongst the top half that can make runs. The issue is that Australia really lack any sort of grit and fight, like there once was. Too many soft wickets given away cheaply and players getting themselves settled in but not converting those starts into runs.

Plus the lack of a quality spinner once again hurts.

Clarke is really the only proven Test match batsman in that team which is quite terrible.

That's clear as day to see.

There's a few others there that can make runs, but they're neither consistent or reliable.

Watson makes many decent starts but fails to turn them into big scores. Can't afford that when the rest of the lineup lacks runs.

Rodgers will probably end up having a good series.

Got a dodgy lbw decision in his first innings at Trent Bridge (it was out, but a bit harsh imo), got a 50 and a good ball from Jimmy Anderson in his second and got a shocker here.

Apart from that there's little to shout about.

So has everyone else. TBH I only watch bits and pieces of it now. DRS and the umpires have ruined it for me.

Cracking test match at the moment.

If Australia can bowl England out for 250-270 they have a very good chance of winning.

England put on 238 in their first innings and then Australia scored 270, although had Rodgers and Watson not batted well they would have been completely fucked. Bell scored a hundred today and England have five wickets remaining going into day 4. Hasn't been a lot to talk about, apart from some good batting by Rodgers and Bell. Just a good test match as it's nice and close, although that Bell century will probably make things extremely hard for Australia who haven't batted well as a team during this series.

It's been a good series, DRS controversy aside (although even thats been overblown). Ian Bell has basically been the difference between the two sides, but the series probably needed Australia winning the last test (which they would have if not for the weather).

England's problems have started with Joe Root, but his issues have been mostly technical rather than anything else (squares himself up to the new ball and doesn't come forward) so I imagine they will be fixed over the winter. England, I think, will win in Australia easier than they have here.

Australia are chicken! They walk out after bad lighting, moaned by Clark... That's because England need 21 runs to win, only 4 overs left.

well done England! i wish 4-0

Neither the fielding team or the batting team can call for bad light anymore so I don't know how we are chickens and walked off for bad light. Yes we played for bad light but end of the day England played for a draw for most of the test and it's up to the umpires to call for the light anyway.
