What a weasel that man is! He is not blameless in the ruination of football. I don't like the direction football is going in, which is why I like to rekindle old competitions. This file changes the International landscape, reintroducing tournaments of old, adding a twist to modern tournaments whilst also removing others. This file is for use in conjunction with my UEFA REBOOTED files . If you wish to use this FIFA REBOOTED file then you must also use file numbers 5, 7 & 8 of the UEFA REBOOTED files. This is a bare minimum. For the full experience then obviously I would recommend using all the files, however this FIFA REBOOTED file cannot be used with file number 6 of the UEFA files, as the FIFA one changes the tournaments of the UEFA one.
This file brings together what I believe is a better footballing world than I see now, it is only my opinion, of how I would like to see football, so take no offence if I have done a disservice to any region or continent! So here's what the FIFA REBOOTED files are all about….
FIFA WORLD CUP FINALS - returns to 32 teams , and only 1 host. There is a choice of 3 nations in each cycle, so every save has a chance of having a different host. I have planned World Cups up until 2098, when the cycle will start again.
FIFA CONFEDERATIONS CUP - This tournament returns every 4 years and is played the year before the world cup. It is held in the nation hosting the next world cup, it plays out to the 6 continental champions, world champions, and host nation.
UEFA EUROPEAN FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FINALS - returns to 16 teams, and only 1 host.
COPA AMERICA - returns to 12 teams. ( 10 south american nations, and 2 best nations from the CONCACAF region except for the USA).
AFRICA CUP OF NATIONS - played every 2 years with 16 teams in the finals.
AFC ASIAN CUP - played every 4 years, with 16 teams in the finals.
CONCACAF GOLD CUP - now played every 4 years with 12 teams in the finals.
OFC Nations Cup - played every 4 years, with 6 places also up for grabs to play in the OFC world cup qualifiers.
I have resurrected the CFU CARIBBEAN CUP, and the COPA CENTROAMERICANA. These contribute finalists for the CONCACAF Gold Cup, and also an intercontinental playoff for the Gold Cup.
There is also a re-emergence of the AFC CHALLENGE CUP. All losers of the preliminary round of the AFC Asian Cup go into the Challenge Cup Qualifiers.
The FIFA WORLD CUP PLAYOFFS revert back to how they were in the early 2000s, with 2 intercontinental playoffs.
The UEFA NATIONS LEAGUE remains but not in the current format. It is the version with 4 semi finalists, rather than the 8 quarter finalists there is now.
I have removed the CONCACAF Nations League, due to congestion with the calendar, and the introduction of other tournaments in that region. I have also removed the Finalissima. There is no need for this now, as the Confederations Cup has returned.
The 32 team Club World Cup is removed, the Confederations Cup takes place instead, and the annual Club World Cup remains (if you include file 5 of the UEFA REBOOTED files).
VAR has been removed from all the tournaments involved in this file. I have added Goal Line Technology to all competitions.
It used to be quite unique to see 12 subs on the bench in major tournaments. I have made the substitution rule for all qualifiers to be 3 from 7 subs (+1 if Extra Time used). There will be 3 from 12 subs in the major tournament finals.
I have worked on this file for the last 6 months, and I hope anyone who uses it enjoys it, and maybe, just maybe I may have saved football 😉
Note: I had to rebuild the Copa America using a new ID. So use ID 2000340047 if you want to amend your xmls for the competition logo.
