Haven't the Football League changed its rules regarding loans?

Heard it somewhere.

Does anyone know what the Pozzo's plans are for Watford?

^ Yeah, previously foreign loans were treated like transfers and were unlimited. But now they're capped. Although Watford claim, they only signed so many loan players, because the takeover took longer than expected. And the club was in a bad state.

Really can't see QPR being anywhere near the top, they're squad will still be full of past it footballers, who probably don't really care. I can't see Bobby Zamora and the likes suddenly looking like good players again just because they're a division lower.

Hard to predict Wigan until after the summer. Could see the drifting to mid-table.

Watford will go back into mid-table obscurity now that the loan rules are changing. I can't see Pozzo spending upwards of £10-15m in the Championship just to keep their current squad together and Vydra is too good for Watford anyway.

That, and Watford are currently under a transfer embargo until the end of the summer. All transfers have to be confirmed by the FA/whoever on a case by case basis.

Bollocks.

There's no chance whatsoever that the Pozzo's are just going to abandon Watford after a year. They're probably the most patient/intelligent owners in Serie A. They will be going for promotion again next season.

With what? Udinese aren't the richest of teams, and with the feeder system blocked the Pozzos might not (be able to) make the necessary investments required.

From what I understand the individuals owning the clubs aren't the same so basically they can transfer between the two on a free.

Correct. Udinese is officially owned by Pozzo senior, Watford and Granada by his sons.

This is assuming that the players on loan at Watford will want to stay. Most of them could stay and help Watford challenge again, but Vydra is worth Udinese playing in the first team now.

I can't see him getting in the team ahead of Luis Muriel and Antonio Di Natale.

Best bet is if Muriel moves in the summer.

They'll have to try and balance Europe and Serie A again next season and I can't see them doing it with just two forwards. Last year they had those two plus Ranegie and Fabbrini/Maicosuel as second strikers.

I think they'll bring Vydra back and send big Ranegie to Watford for a year.

Unless we break the habit of lifetime and actually pursue some exciting players with upside then I don't see us going up.

I see the Arabs backing McDerm with some transfer funds.

They aren't even a good investment firm either. Leeds can't even do that properly.

Signed Matt Smith from Oldham. We had him on loan the season before last and he was absolutely useless- really surprised he's got a Championship club but fair play to him.

Next Michael Owen - according to the Oldham lot.

Not sure if this is supposed to be a good thing or not.

He did well in the cups, not so well in the league.

14 goals in 75 games in League One.

According to the stats in League One, he's crap. And the fact that he went out of contract at Oldham might prove something.

Well they did offer him a new one, he rejected it cause there was interest from Championship clubs.

He'd probably be a decent option last 15 minutes if Leeds need a goal. Would give defenders something a bit different to think about.

With KB's contacts at Leeds and our lack of a strikeforce last season, I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up at our place at some point

Re Smith: His stats obviously look crap for a striker but hiss aerial ability is a big factor. We and especially our CB's found it very hard coping with his strength and all at Gigg this season. Alongside a decent goalscorer, this could work out for Leeds

Well should be good but he's already 24 and he hadn't produced much of Owen's performances by now.

The only good thing about him is that he's on less money than Somma. But that's it, I'd rather have Somma.

He's 6ft 6" and has scored a mighty 9 goals in 61 league games for Oldham Athletic. I don't need to know any more about him to understand the basic type of game he represents or the level of productivity I can expect from him.
