How to get best out of Negredo?

Hey i'm after the midway point in my first season with Man City, I've been using the summer transfer updates as of August the 1st so I have Navas, Fernandinho, Jovetic and Negredo, I find it really hard to play with this guy, it's like every time I play him he rarely scores, he must have scored about 4 goals in 17 appearances all competitions this season which most were at the start of the season, when I play him I play him in a 4-2-2-2 behind Navas and Silva on the Right and Left Wings and then he is next to Aguero, most of his efforts go into orbit for me and he just seems to be lazy, I usually like to play Aguero has my first choice deep lying forward attack, and Negredo as the poacher but I have also been swapping him with Aguero for some games to no prevail, Agueros scored about 12 goals in 24 games all competitions, Edin Dzeko has scored about 6 in 23 appearances all competitions which isn't a lot but he picks up a good number of assists for a striker aswell so I like him, and then there's Jovetic who's scored like 9 in 25 all competitions. I have to rely a lot on my midfield for goals, which is usually the case in this save, Silva, Navas, Yaya Toure and Nasri are sometimes relyed on to get the goals, or we are also a bit of a set piece team as players like Kompany and Bonucci (bought for 12.25 mil from Juve) bag from corners. Please have a look at these players and maybe give me some tips, it would be much appreciated

We are doing well in the league, we're 2nd, 7 points behind the surprise leaders Liverpool, in the champions league we are in the last 16 currently leading 3-1 from the 1st home leg against Real Madrid, then in the FA Cup we are in the Quarter Finals against either Wolves or Southampton.

maybe try him as a target man or advanced forward as that may suit him better.

Play Aguero as a Trequartista or attacking DLF, and play Negredo as an AF.

This is probably what I'd do as well. Might be worth trying him as a complete forward too though.
The poacher role you've currently got selected for Dzeko is more suitable for quicker players.

I'd play Dzeko as a complete forward on support and Negredo as an advance forward, then Aguero and Navas on the wings, Aguero as an inside forward to utilise his dribbling ability and Navas as an out and out winger.
