No, it isn't quite as clear-cut as that but my reasoning for saying that is quite straight-forward.

I dunno, Dzeko would be the striker of yours I imagine would cause us the most trouble.
We struggle with Strikers who will dominate Ferdinand and Evans in the air and he's the only player you have capable of doing it. If we go with Smalling and Evans (which, again I can see the sense both in doing it and not doing) I really don't see Aguero and Tevez causing any more problems to them, providing they play well, than they would to any other defence (by virtue of the fact they're very good strikers). Evans is certainly smart enough to deal with most things (and hopefully yesterday was his occasional abysmal performance out of the way) and it wouldn't surprise me if Smalling would win a race against any of your strikers.
As for recent performances, last derby falls very much under the handicapped ourselves category. Scholes Giggs and a Park that hadn't played in about 3 months were always going to struggle. We then beat you fairly easily at the Etihad in the cup (the two goals you scored in the second half really masked how comfortable we were) and were ripped a new shitter at Old Trafford but actually were very unfortunate to be behind when Evans decided to get himself sent off (we'd hardly bossed it, but we'd shaded it and Balotelli scored against the run of play) so yeah, they've been tighter run things than you perhaps remember.

A fair point about the strikers but your memory's fucked if you think you beat us 'fairly easily' in the FA Cup. United were the best team in the first half but in the second half we were all over you - and if not for an unjust red-card, we would have won.
As for them being tight/tighter run things, not really. There have been parts in each game that have been close, or that United have looked the better team, but each time as the game has gone on we've taken control of it and started to dominate you. That even happened in the FA Cup semi-final (although we really rode our luck there) and we've improved immeasurably since then.

Nah, you scored twice at the start of the second and then we were really comfortable from there on in, I think the only other chance of note you created was when Scholes gave the ball away. If you were all over us in that half then we were all over you in the first half at Old Trafford. In reality, we sat off and let you have the ball and you couldn't break us down, shaded it? Yes. All over us? Nope, we were comfortable. As for the red card, it was two footed, the laws specifically mention that a two footed tackle is a tackle that uses excessive force and that is a red cardable offence, there was a reason your appeal was rejected...
You've been the better team recently in these games but not by that much, I think the only real difference between the two teams has been when you've been on top you've been clinical, when we've been on top we've been wasteful in recent years. You mention the FA Cup Semi, and it's a good point, we were on top and Berbatov missed a hat-trick of sitters, you then get on top and Yaya takes his chance. In fact, I think the two games last season (Old Trafford and Etihad FA Cup) serve this point. Both teams were clinical in their respective periods on top, us being 3 up at half time at the Etihad and Kompany being sent off, you being 3 up and Evans being sent off in the period you were on top (which I'm classing as the time Balotelli scored until the 70th minute) your 3 goals in injury time being discarded for the simple reason that whilst humiliating they tell us more about how we'd given up than how good you were.
Don't get me wrong, if we play like we have been we're due a spanking and you're good enough to give us it. But both of us at the top of our game and I don't think there's as much in it as people like to think.

I don't think United have been very good for years in terms of playing well and being dominant, but they continue to win football matches. City have been doing both.
If City turn up they'll beat you fairly comfortably imo.

I think we gave him a 5 year deal, so we're pretty much stuck with him. Apparently he's been a lot better recently too, actually turning up to training on time and staying out of trouble. Was pretty good when he was coming through in the Championship tbf.

Yeah he was decent in the Championship. If he sorts himself out maybe he can develop into a good player for us.

Same, although I still watched. Definitely ruined the game.

Santon has been excellent this season for us this year, although he starts needing to turn possesion in dangerous areas into assists/chances. Today I think was his first chance. Should definately be considered for one of Italy's wing back slots. - He can play both which should be a bonus as a squad player I guess. Anita was tremendous tonight, my MOTM.
The expression the ref 'ruined the game' is so stupid.

I thought the foul was a penalty but never a red, penalty was punishment enough.

He was hardly in world beating form before he got injured again anyway.

Yeah Marvauex looked like he could be the guy to bring a spark to the side when Ben Arfa's not playing. Really impressed with him, hopefully he can avoid injuries now, at the very least he's looks like he could be a better impact player off the bench than Obertan.
Pardews hopefully the three guys that went off injured last night (Tiote, Santon, Ba) could be fit for Fulham next Monday. We could really do with that, and getting through the Bordeaux game without an injury as well.
Poe
Hopefully they'll be back, we've had awful luck with injuries this season.
