He's average, and he's certainly not €40m good at any rate.

Aye he's probably better than all of Man Utd's centre midfield.

Have a word.

He's seriously average, I'll give him his dues and say he probably could play a slightly more adventurous role than he was allowed to under Mourinho but thats about it. He's got a good engine, but there's far better players than him with the ball and without the ball and for £40m there's far better around. He's obviously not bad but he's massively unimpressive.

I'd have been more concerned if we'd succeeded in panic buying him.

I wouldn't pay 40m for him but then again I wouldn't for any of your midfield either.

Carrick is better with the ball than him and can definitely pass better. Khedira is better than Cleverley, Anderson and Giggs when he plays there.

Obviously. In fairness, being better than those 3 is probably a pre-requisite of playing football for a big club.

Juries still out on the difference between him and Fellaini, for me, Khedira probably edging it at the minute because of his great experience at this level. I don't think there's much in it though.

Me neither, I'd definitely rather have him than not though. Fellaini might flop under the pressure of playing for Utd, we just don't know.

Especially with how weak your central midfield is.

Make sense for both parties- Frei's not going to get regular first team football, and there's a national quota in the Turkish league so they would naturally want to fill their ranks with as many young, competent Turkish lads as possible.

Turkish father, Moroccan mother, born in Austria and a Swiss citizen.

Press Association Sport reports that striker Carlton Cole has missed out on sealing a return to West Ham after failing to prove his fitness.

The 29-year-old ended a seven-year stint at Upton Park when he left at the expiration of his contract in June.

The Upton Park club had confirmed an interest in re-signing the former Chelsea striker on Tuesday.

Goal.com are claiming Zaha wants to come join us on loan if he still doesn't get played at Old Trafford.

I don't buy it personally.

How come to Newcastle specifically? The transfer window doesn't open for another 3 months either way so he'd have a long wait.

Wasn't there a clause where if United were going to send him out on loan Palace would have first refusal?

I think so.

He'll get games, Januzaj has been playing despite our tough start and Zaha will do soon enough I think. Especially if Valencia and Young continue to produce dross.

Moyes giving youngsters a chance is a myth, good luck with that. Barkley wouldn't of been getting played or even sent out on loan if Moyes was still with us.

He's been playing Januzaj every chance he's got.
