Yeah, they aren't the best paper around but they tend not to fuck up stuff like this.

Is it £34m for Fernandinho? Just caught a bit of Martinez's interview and that's the fee they were reporting.

Also, money is no object to City. Why would it matter?

Doubt it. He has no real track record of using out-and-out wingers and we're supposedly moving towards a 4-3-3 next season (likely the sort that Barça use) which would likely see Agüero playing in the same way that David Villa did/does and cutting in from the left.

Obviously though, that's assuming we're buying a striker like Cavani.

The hierarchy are taking FFP seriously (though I'm not sure why) so an extra £10m is sort of important.

It's irrelevant though 'cos Sky are talking out of their arse.

Arshavin, Denilson and Squillaci will all leave Arsenal when their contracts expire.

I didn't even realise Denilson was only 25, seriously thought he was a few years older than that.

Love how Carroll is willing to sign for us for 50k a week but wants 100 from West Ham

Obviously 50k is in northern money what 100k is in london money

Fernandinho is a brilliant signing for City, great player.

Due to Rooney being all over our kit launch yesterday The Mirror are reporting an 'exclusive' saying he's staying.

Even if he chooses to stay I don't think many fans will be so forgiving.

James Ducker (from the Times) and Stuart Brennan (from the MEN) are both now saying we're paying £34m Fernandinho.

SSN may have accidentally got it right.

Manchester City have secured the signing of Shakhtar Donetsk's Brazilian midfielder Fernandinho on a four-year deal, believed to be worth around £30m.

New Manchester City signing Fernandinho tells the club's website: "My ambition here is to win all the titles, the team here is strong, and so is the greatness of the club and the supporters.

"Professionally this is a spectacular thing. Playing for a huge club in a huge league makes me so happy. I hope I will be able to repay City for what they have done for me.

"I know I will face challenges but I am prepared for them. Every player at a high level faces pressure and must respond and I am ready for that too. I know a lot about City. Ever since they expressed an interest in me, I have been learning more."

£34m seems like a huge fee for a 28-year-old who's never played in one of Europe's major leagues.

If you want a Shakhtar player, you should expect to pay.

Ok then, a good one, that is still in contract.

Rat has only played about 260 league games in his career at the age of 32. Always curious to see players that accept being bit-part players so readily.

Wasted his potential, one could argue. He was obviously happy so I shan't judge him.

Exactly, so it begs the question of whether or not there were cheaper alternatives. That said, I can't say I know much about him, so he could well go on to be a great signing and worth the money.
