Missed the game today but its weird i'm not actually overly bothered, in Citys hands now but if you'd have told me we'd be close to winning the league with 2 games to go id have bitten your hand off so cant complain even if we only come 3rd.

That was surprisingly easy for an away game at a Pulis team.

Souness is a weird character

Yeah, a bit odd. I think there were a couple of good points mixed in there though.

Aye, but his main point seemed to be "Would a team win a match without the player who was man of the match".

Yaya doesn't play, Ferna comes in, Nasri goes a bit more central, maybe Aleks on wing and Clichy centre back. Aguero would have more joy with early crosses. Boom

Don't think anything else could of went wrong in our match, Two fucking own goals, two potential penalty shouts, and Deulofeu flagged for offside clean through on goal when he was on. That match would of probably ended 0-0 because Southampton never looked like scoring on their own and neither did we. Fuming.

Seamus was just wanting us to get CL so he can play in it next season for us like.

Still doesn't really change my statement to be fair. If we lost to City we would be deffinetly out of it, now we still have a slight chance.

But yeah, I have no words.

I seem to remember Lambert hitting the post and Davis firing a shot wide. Lukaku had a good header saved as well.

I don't think too many people will have many complaints with that. In terms of the goalkeepers, where perhaps there could be disagreement, Cech has been the best goalkeeper out of those involved in the title race, De Gea has shipped too many even though he's been excellent this season, and other contenders like Speroni and Marshall have flown under the radar and are playing out their skin at their own mid-table level.

I personally wouldn't have had Kompany in there tbh. Whilst still a fantastic defender he has made quite a few mistakes this season in the league and been quite inconsistent and not up to his usual standard. But at the same time im not sure who else to put there, its not really been a great season for defending. Maybe one of Davies, Koscielny or Terry? I dunno. Also think Azpilicueta has flown under the radar at LB but I agree with Shaw. And i would've given GK to Marshall who has made some ridiculous saves this season. De Gea has established himself really well and Cech and Begovic has also been as consistent as ever but I like an underdog.

Yeah, I wouldn't have had Kompany in there either tbh. Would definitely have had David Silva ahead of Lallana too.

Kompany's living off City's last title run. Been poor in last two seasons, whether that's due to generally not being that great or constant switching of defensive partners I don't know.

Arsenal fans on Twitter have been saying Koscielny should be ahead of Kompany and the stats do provide a compelling case for him. Maybe Baines at LB instead of Shaw.

What about a worst 11 of the season anyone?

Terry for Kompany and Azpilicueta for Shaw. Various other candidates for Lallana's position.

I'm pretty sure you can find worse than Young. Cleverley has been very bad but Fellaini has been absolute dogshite.

I can only think of a shit 5 - Fabio, Fellaini, Cleverley, van Wolfswinkel and Soldado. Needs more fleshing out.

24 years supporting Liverpool and never been prouder.

The momentum has swung to City now but it's far from over. If anything the last week has shown how quickly things can swing. It may yet have another twist.

Or it may not. Such is life.

They've got a terrible recent record at Everton, definitely far from over.

Liverpool could do with Arsenal slipping up tomorrow so that Everton have something to play for on Saturday, unfortunately there's almost zero chance that Newcastle will get anything tomorrow.

He's still been sporadically brilliant since then but between the constant injuries and reshuffling in defence he's really struggled for consistency over the last two seasons.
