Could this be something he could create? Do you have contact with him? Potentially just removing a couple of years as those players are in the DB (98-00) and changing the dates - but that could be me. No clue how to do it but still 😛

Yeah I think the 2D kit model today is much more capable of having that perfect sync between 3D and 2D, essentially because the 3D kit quality is better than in 2009. They still generate the 2D kits from 3D, but export them and then import them as PNG files of course. Even though this way the unlicensed kits do not have the same quality and for example lighting, which IMO is not ideal.

I hope SI will still switch back to the actual 3D to 2D mapping on the minikit again, and when there is a 2D PNG image it will just overwrite. But it would just reduce all the noise and download makers will only have to focus on 3D to get all kits done in FM. Imagine how fast we would get all the leagues done (I mean of the playable leagues and even more) if all kitcreators would focus on 3D only. I mean, Standard Kits, FC'12, SS, LS, … look at how many styles there are. It's ridiculous. Would be great if those were just 3D models where the kit is mapped upon and it always uses 3D as a base.

Maybe question for high-quality skinners as @Bluestillidie00 - could we still implement back these 3D model previews for 2D like in 2009 into newer generation FMs?

Kits, logos in your graphics folder. the .fmf file in your editor files folder and the .fm in your games folder. Please read the description on top.

@TheMadScientist with the regen mod; is it required to always keep that in the edt folder or do we only need that during the creation of the save and can we revert to the old file afterwards?

@HSS2750 you need to add this file into here: steamapps\common\Football Manager 2023\data\database\db\2300\edt\permanent (in Program Files/Application Support) and start a new save with the .fmf file selected from the editor files.

It will basically add all players from later databases as regens. So it will add Messi as a regen for instance (date of birth +24 years = 2011), example of the code below:

Can we somehow still make these two kits? Maybe converting from PES (@Hajdučki sin could maybe help find sources?) and then optimizing it again (remove and add new high-quality logos etc.)

These are all licensed in FM2023 - including all clubs mentioned. However, I won't be sharing the official kits by SI, as I encourage you to buy the game, use the Archiver to extract the kits and use them in an older version of FM.

For FM22 please download the 2022.03 pack. The 2023 pack takes licenses into account, so ManCity and Norwich are not included there as they are licensed by the game.

But here you can download the .xml file, which you need to convert to .fmf via the pre-game editor. Just open the editor, select import, select the .xml and then save it as an .fmf

For convenience I added the latest version of the Future Transfer Update in .fmf format to this post, so e.g. Ronaldo will move on Dec 30 in this file.

You could use a bulk resize tool or Python script to do it maybe, but would be something you’d have to do manually 😉

No because there is no good 3D source - there is a source and I included the kits that look OK. Others are not of the right quality to be included. So it'll only be there if there is a better source for the remaining kits.

Same applies to other leagues.
