Tony Pulis has officially resigned as Stoke manager.

Amazing stat now that, since Arsenal last won a trophy, all other 91 league clubs have changed manager.

That is awful.

Umbro has made some awesome designs and while the last few weren't quite so good they were still better than this new shite.

I saw tons of anti-Newcastle comments from Spurs fans today, but I thought you guys played well and we were lucky to go ahead when we did. Spurs fans should be more concerned with awful results like the one against Fulham at home a few weeks ago. They had Champions League football in their hands and completely bottled it and should have never been in a position where they were relying on another side to do it for them.

By the way, what the hell happened to Tiote? He was shocking today.

I really don't know why Spurs fans thought we'd help them - we've been cack for several weeks (some cynics might say we've been cack since winning at Chelsea one year ago). Today was actually a decent performance in the first half that should've produced a goal or two but it was irritating how we sort of meandered our way to the end of the campaign without that big an attempt to make things interesting. Spurs really did bottle it this time.

Tiote? He's been shocking virtually all season long. Not the only one of course but one that stands out more than others. I don't know what has happened but it's amazing to think he was valued at £20M last year and based on a lot of this season we'd struggle to get 20 sweets for him.

I'm not sure what Spurs fans thought we'd do them a favour.

If they lose Bale they're in big trouble. They've do well to get a record points total for a Premier League-era Spurs side despite losing Modric and Van Der Vaart, losing their best players a lot and effectively having no strikeforce. But a lot of it is Bale and without him, they're not going to hit these highs any time soon.

As for us?

Well, this season's over and we didn't go down. So thank fuck for that. With any luck next season we won't be so underwhelming.

So far Arsenal have looked poor for a team that needs the win. Though we probably should've scored at least one, maybe two.

Agreed - it rivals the Brighton player shitting all over the dressing room for king of the "step too far" territory.

8 goals in 7 apperances this season in Ligue 2. Scored 7 goals on two matches.

Well, if we signed him, he wouldn't be any worse than Shola Ameobi

Poyet apparently said this in a club e-mail ahead of the Crystal Palace game:
'Hi All,

1) ...when Crystal Palace players and staff arrived to the Amex and went into their dressing room, they found themselves in a very uncomfortable situation, for some reason that still no clear to me , someone during the day had access to the away dressing room and done something terrible, trying to upset everyone related to Palace. To say it in clear English, someone had a ‘poo’ all outside the toilets, over and around the toilets.

Now, after careful consideration, and even after a meeting with the Chairman who assured me that MY REPUTATION IS INTACT, I feel that I must express my anger that anyone inside this organisation thought they could interfere with it.

I am angry that someone within this club could endanger our good reputation and stoop so low - did they imagine that this would affect the Crystal Palace players - well it possible did - it may just have fired them up even more.

Well someone made a very bad decision and I think it is time to stand up and take responsibility - not just the culprit but those employees who are supposed to make our stadium safe and secure. Surely changing rooms are high up on securities check lists???

Surely someone should lose their job to allow such a breach of security - they do not deserve to be part of this club!...

2)...would someone like to admit it was their idea to hand out stupid pieces of noise-making paper - can I tell you it was an extremely silly idea and the result was an annoying noise - I am not for one minute blaming the result of the game on this, but it added only negative vibes to the proceedings along with the rubbish filled balloons that littered the pitch.

My team of players and staff have worked hard this season and I do not appreciate negative actions from others within the club...whoever you are, you let the club down very badly.

Gus Poyet'

And to think pigs heads at Stoke was bad enough.

Might explain why this line just came up on the BBC Sport Twitter feed:
Stoke begin investigation into reports of training-ground incident: "Those responsible for any unacceptable behaviour will be dealt with"

What the fuck was Whelan thinking?

He's been having a big sulk basically. Whether Everton have offered a contract to him doesn't matter really, he's shown a complete lack of respect for the club and has shown himself to be dishonest. Gus is a great manager, but he's got a toxic personality. The problem is, if he leaves I don't think we'll be able to get someone of his influence. Certainly not someone with his influence in Spanish speaking countries. Which means we might lose some key players. More worried about losing the players than him.
Gus was a great manager but he always thought he was bigger than the club. Maybe he was, maybe he wasn't but you don't go saying that to the fucking media.

I have no idea what he's said - was this about budgets or something?

I don't really care that it is Wonga, I don't think they should exist, but well it's not like the PL have ever asked or cared where the money has come from before.

I've wondered this before given the amount of alcohol, gambling, oil corporation fronts, rate-fixing banks, credit cards and electricity companies queuing up to plough money into the game.

The website had retracted the rumour, and put up this line:
"SportsDirect News wishes to express its sincere apologies to Wayne Rooney and Triple Sports and Entertainment Group for publishing the article 'Newcastle in shock Rooney bid', which was formulated and published without authority, merit and is untrue."

There's no way we'd sign him - out of our wage budget, and we're not in Europe anyway so I don't think he wants to go to such one.

There was more likelihood of us signing him in 2004 when we actually had lodged two bids only for MUFC to trump the pair of them.

Dunno how to post the link but the club have just confirmed that dark blue kit is our new away kit, to go with a fairly hideous looking goalie top.

There's a rumour going around we want Wayne Rooney.

Chance of that is somewhere between a snowball's in hell and QPR being a Premier League club in August.

I love how loan-sharking somehow managed to become a legitimate business.

I'm a bit embarrassed we're going to be baring the name of a legitimate loan shark on our shirts tbh.

I wouldn't use a micro-loan company, because I'm not an idiot, but aren't they actually supposed to be one of the more scrupulous?

As in they tell you how much they rip you off before they do.

Well it does say in their advertising they charge at 4214% APR and their chief executive has admitted they are a more expensive alternative to conventional loans. So, possibly.

As for what Wonga may look like on our kits, this kit is meant to be our new away kit (and to be worn on Sunday, weirdly)...

Not as bad as I was dreading. But it may look bad on the hideous yellow kit our third is rumoured to be.

Oh, I know you said allegedly, I've just seen enough people claiming it as fact for it to annoy me already.

The reality is probably somewhere in between. If City have actually spent £28million they are fucking nuts but I doubt that being reality.

There is still something surreal about next season seeing Man U, Man City and Chelsea all starting again.

Though at £10million he's a snip compared to the £28million Mancini allegedly cost to dismiss.

Oh I hope Newcastle will give Arsenal a good challenge and eventually grab some points.

Judging by Pardew's comments about not caring if we beat 4-0 as long as we enjoy ourselves (not sure how that works) you maybe disappointed.

He looked finished after that Cup defeat. Though I daresay winning it may have simply entitled him to manage the Reading and Norwich games before being fired anyway. Strange way to mark winning the league but I guess the pisspoor defence and Champions League 'attempt' meant the end was sadly inevitable.

Give it to Pardew.

I was suprised Pardew came out and said that, pretty silly really, especially given all the flack he's taken recently. But it seems pretty obvious he didn't mean that we won't be bothering next week - just that we're safe now and that's the big goal accomplished and the Arsenal result is more or less meaningless (which it is tbf).

It was a decent performance yesterday, and it was nice to see us not sit back and defend after getting into a good position. Hopefully we can get Cisse staying onside by next season, he must be up to 5-10 offside goals this season.

Are we really surprised by what Pardew says and does anymore? Oh well only seven more years. Unless he loses all the first 10 games of next season.

Talking of Cisse he was playing left wing for the second half yesterday and he really didn't look comfortable there. Surely people should know he's not a winger, and I think the team did too given most of our attacks came down our right hand side in the second half. Defensively though it was a good performance against a side who did pose some danger despite their relegation meaning they didn't give a fuck. Hopefully against Arsenal we won't just roll over as that would be a depressing end to the season.

Was the Bosingwa abuse because of his smile after the Reading game or did he look like he wasn't putting in any effort today?

Ex-Chelsea player, earns stupid cash, looks like he can't be arsed half the time, refused to sit on the bench, cost them 2 goals in an excessively stupid fashion, the Reading smile... take your pick. QPR looked hideously disjointed overall anyway - probably just as well they had no plans for what would've been the most pointless players appreciation lap in history.

As for us, we're safe. I was shitting it when I heard Willo had displaced Taylor in the back 4 (apparently Tayls was ill) but we defended very well overall and we were clinical with our attacks. Hopefully we can sign off in style against the Gunners, even despite Pardew's comments.
