Cardiff in the Premier League next year. Well at least we're guaranteed two European trips next season.

Oh and I didn't realise Sky employed Arsenal FC TV commentators, so much for being impartial.

Can't be any worse than Radio Sunderland's commentary team on Sunday, can it?

55 killed and over a 100 wounded in Iraq bombing today. Just sayin'

It's horrible wherever it occurs, be it the USA or Middle East.

That photo of the guy with legs blown off is a whole new level of horror.

I'm more amazed he tried to dive up his arsehole two-footed. But I digress - that's not a challenge to be proud of. Amazingly the FA have done what is now expected of them - absolutely nothing.

I reckon we're gonna have an eleven of 2-footers that got away with it before long.

For ages I've felt the last place will be between the loser of the Wigan-Aston Villa match on the final day. Still could be, but I think Villa and Wigan have enough to stay up. Same with Sunderland, Norwich and (despite yesterday) us.

Which leaves Stoke... they're doing what Reading did in 2008, which is get to a high position in mid-season and then embark on a tailspin they seem to have no way out of. Looks like it's down they go.

I thought smoke canisters were made of metal?

I remember when the Toon played Man City in December some City fans lobbed one into the home end below them: http://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/greater-manchester-news/police-to-take-no-action-after-699144
Though as you can probably tell, no action taken. Maybe if a fan gets knocked out if they're hit on the head with one of them, it would lead to a greater argument. It shows how much I know as I thought they were amongst the sizable banned items lists each ground has.

I never thought I'd use the phrase "a drunk trying to fight a horse showed more commitment to the cause than the players" but there we are... not condoning him or the other idiots, but it is the (slightly weird) truth.

How drunk do you have to be?

There's a second photo where that guy is being arrested... that first photo is quite impressive though.

Sacking our manager based on one performance isn't the way forward

I accept that and I do think it would be rash to sack him now. But that's the only opposing argument I have, and when we confirm we're in the Prem for next season, change manager.

I don't think I've ever seen such a cowardly, rotten, spineless, useless performance from us in one of these games. Fans are arguing Pardew should be fired on the evidence of this and frankly I have no argument to oppose this

Rose's clattering of Debuchy was worse, although Gouffran did ask for trouble.

We need to turn up in this half - we cannot go down in this fixture without a fight, not least given our dodgy league position.

I honestly don't know how Cisse does it. Looks hopeless in front of goal, then scores one like that.

Pardew's celebration

That was a mental conclusion... though tbf if it was a rational end to the game they wouldn't have needed to fish Pardew out of the crowd.

It's amazing though - that first half chance where Cisse should've squared to Marveaux and instead came closer to finding Scotland than the net was preposterous, and even moreso with possibly the best of his recent late goals. Unbelievable stuff.

Villa last season were lucky to escape the drop. This season's Villa look a lot more solid and a decent outfit.

We desperately require victory, but we're not getting it and to make things worse... 1-0 to Sunderland

Just did the BBC's predictor thing, you predict the results of all the remaining games and it gives you the league table based on those scores.link

Here's mine;

Edit; Just noticed some teams have only played 37, I don't now why as I filled in all the boxes.

There's no date set for the fixtures.

Seen the highlights from the Bolton game.

1. What was Clarke doing for their goal?
2. When was the last time anyone saw a backpass given? I ask as on the highlights Zat Knight deliberately passes it back to Lonergan, who has to palm it around the post. Has the law changed so merely handling a backpass is no longer a free kick, and in fact the ball has to be under control?
3. Can see why the ref didn't give a penalty, which doesn't change the fact we should have had a penalty. Scannell got caught but made too much of it. Ref gave a dive, though the contact is pretty clear for all to see, knee on knee.

I don't think 2. is given that frequently anymore but there is still the odd offence where a player passes back and gets called up for it.

Not a chance. You always get a load of random teams near the top early on in every season. I remember Hull, who'll probs go up automatically now, came here second game of the season and saw people like Murphy's name on the team sheet and were desperate for a 0-0, little did they know our squad looks ten times better on paper than it actually is. 2 of his Kean's last four games were defeats to MK Dons and Middlesborough too.

Clueless Kean had to go for Rovers to move forward, but there hasn't been any stability here since the moment that lot walked through the door.

I'm not defending Kean with this - he was clearly out of his depth and should've been fired when Blackburn were relegated from the Premier League - but when he was fired Blackburn were 4th in the table, and only one point off his supposed target. If they had stuck with him, I'm certain you would be a lot higher in the table rather than staring down the barrel of a gun quite like this moment.

But who knows - given Venky's have bungled every key decision since Kean received his overdue just desserts, Blackburn have just had one almighty clusterfuck of the season.

Apparently he should be back for when Spurs play Man City.

I was out so missed the Toon game but I'm aware of the gist - got a goal, unlucky with other attempts, then undone by lousy defending (Santon again). 2-0 is not beyond us but their attack is amazing.

Now... to hopefully beating Fulham.

Warnock sacked by Leeds.

Sacked or resigned?

Seems to have been going "I have no future here" for a while, or at least since the Huddersfield defeat a couple of weeks back.

VC is normally just a title I think. Didn't his dad flee from the Nazis?

A bit surprised at the backlash, it's not like he has been 'outed' or anything, it's old information.

Ah ok.

PDC has been saying he's of a fascist political bent since he was a young'un - he was banned for doing a Nazi salute against Livorno while playing for Lazio. Plus a trade union withdrew sponsorship to Swindon when he was appointment. So its hardly new information that he's a fascist but the fact he's in the Premier League means it seems to be worthy of butt-clenchingly tedious analysis.

Aye, without Fletcher their pretty screwed, at least he'll be entertaining while he's there, Roy Keane V2.

PDC was good at Swindon, tbf.

But it just reminds me too much of the similarly stupid idea we had in 2009 when we gave Alan Shearer 8 matches to keep us up, and will more than likely produce the same end result.
