If a referee gives a dodgy penalty against a top club then there name generally gets dragged through the mud. It generally doesn't happen in games between WBA and Swansea.

Howard Webb is the prime example, his bottling of decisions allows him to referee World Cup finals. If he fucked up against Ferguson's Man Utd, then I really doubt that would have happened.

My #ITK sources today informed me that Pardew is getting sacked when Ashley is back from his holiday. My source heard it from his source, who heard it from their source who heard it from their source who heard it from JC himself - John Carver. Not 100% sure why the hell John Carver would know.

Since Juan Mata came to England, he's had 5 managers. And 4 of them have been promptly sacked. With Mourinho proving what a top manager he is, by getting rid of him as soon as he could.

I know but its not really possible to prosecute everyone who may have taken drugs in the past. It seems like it will be impossible to prove.

In fairness I re-read the article and saw the club rang the police.

Also the article says 'major' rather than 'Premier League' so its probably a Championship club, and tbh I've always assumed a reasonable proportion of Championship players are on drugs. They look the type.

He's not saying that at all. Pardew with some goal alignment - Remy and Debuchy (and Sissoko) should make sure they get fit and have a good final few games to ensure they make the World Cup.

International players playing in the WC should have a sort of ambassadorial role and put Newcastle in the 'shop window' and make it more attractive club. ie Cabella, Siem de Jong etc. can see that playing for Newcastle won't damage their international ambitions and will therefore factor into their decision making process. Pulis dropped Begovic for the final few games of the season to ensure Sorensen got in the Euro2012 Denmark squad.

As well as Pardew being nice will theoretically make Debuchy and Remy like him and the club more and be more willing to stay.

I'm sure there is a load of similar quotes from pretty much every manager in the league with international player going to the WC.

In fairness, Newcastle are 2 points away from Southampton, who have had an amazing season. Had they won today against Stoke City (and they were a sitter and penalty away in a shockingly dull game from doing so), they'd be ahead of them.

This would involve logic though.

Sunday Sun can fuck off though. Fact the local media are giving space to Sheppard show that they don't give a single fuck about Newcastle, or the 'local community'. But who could possible predict a bunch of white, male, middle-class, middle-age journalists would have a persecution complex?

Pards is also sorry, for finishing higher than most pre-season predictions. Pards is also sorry for keeping Newcastle out of the relegation scrap that a lot of pundits predicted.

I'd argue Newcastle and Aston Villa are far moanier. - But football fans are almost completely heterogeneous anyway, and believe their club is the exception and in isolation of the rest of football. For example; I'm a long suffering supporter of ______, we always do it the hard way, Our corners are the worst in the league etc.

Exceptions seem to be Liverpool fans, who come across as cult members rather than fans.

The history and psyche that drove them behind their years in charge is interesting to read but aside from the fact its ridiculous they were allowed back on the board less than a few months after the fun with the Fake Sheikh in the first place, the business model they had would've led to the club falling off a cliff at some point.

There was no 'psyche' apart from getting rich. Patronise the fans, when they get a bit restless and make some new signings using the clubs money. But they always made sure they got paid first. 'Resigning from the board is a completely meaningless act, when they were still majority shareholders and still on their massive salaries.

Norwich v Fulham next week is going to be fucking huge. At the minute it looks like a straight shoot out.

It's the last 'easy' game for Norwich, as they then play, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd. A win will push Norwich upto 35 points which will probably be enough (efffectively 9 clear of Fulham). And that will probably relegate Fulham too.

Where as a win for Fulham will push them upto 30 points, effectively two behind Norwich. And yu'd have to assume Fulham would have a good chance of beating one of Stoke/Hull/Spurs/Palace to get to 33 points and above Norwich, assuming Norwich lose their 4 big games.

Complicating matters at the moment is Sunderland, with their 3 games in hand look to have a pretty decent shot at staying up, but the next fortnight have Spurs/Everton/ManCity/Chelsea. So could be on the brink by the time the game against Cardiff comes around. Sunderland then have Man Utd, before they take on probably safe WBA and Swansea.
