Hopefully they decide they want Sissoko for 35m to replace him.

Ticket was sorted about 15 minutes after they went on sale. Expecting us to lose to a pumped-up Newcastle side, but that we'll give it a real go, and who knows what might happen? You off?

Aye, I have a season ticket. Think we should win but you never know. I'll revise my opinion after Friday.

Huddersfield is the official start of the 'Gallowgate Flags' scheme - fans have crowd funded £7-8k worth of flags so the ground should look pretty impressive.

If you fancy a pint before/after give me a shout.

Selz will be 1st choice I think. And Bournemouth wanted to keep Ritchie. And Gamez is a good signing

Full backs who can defend are good, ones that can attack too are even better. Dummett can do neither.

Very good is laughable.

And Ameobi is shit. Not good enough. If he could 'deliver a ball' he'd have way more than 8 assists in 93 games.

Sell Ameobi, Gouffran and Riviere too - both not good enough unless they're willing to be 3rd/4th choice backup. Gouffran and Riviere might find their level at Championship standard but if we're looking to bounce back first time then they'd need sold next summer anyway, Ameobi only managed 8 starts for a below average Cardiff side last year so might need to drop even further.

We need a left back - Dummett is hopeless and Haidara is even worse - and is injured constantly.

Presuming the 3 are sold that I'd like we'd need 6 signings.

LB
DM
CM
W/F
CB
ST

We're far from the finished article but the way we've handled our business this summer has been way better than in the past and hasn't seemed as scatter gun - although I can't see us making another 6 signings, I think we'll make do without any more centre midfielders/left back which is a worry.

Sideways step. Similar if not worse calibre of manager than Hodgson.

Looks like Hanley is actually on his way - first choice LB next and we're starting to look good.

Future of Thauvin, Sissoko, Wijnaldum is obviously up in the air so they'll need replaced if they leave.

Aye, 25m for a backup player is crazy talk.

Especially when you've just signed Mane who will occupy one of those positions too. He cost about 234m as well didn't he?

Well we play with 3 AMC so it makes sense to buy in that position

You've already got 3 AMC's better than Wijnaldum in Coutinho, Firminio and Lallana and are spending 25m to acquire another one.

Doesn't make sense to me.

Played the majority of last season as a defensive midfielder for Hull - and thats where Rafa says he's brought him in to play.

A new centre back and left back and replace any outgoings and we're good to go I think!

I think he'll be 3rd choice tbf if Mbemba and Lascelles both stay. I expect Lacelles to stay but I'm not so sure on Mbemba. Still - good to see we're actually signing defensive players for a change.

Simply don't agree with a national team having a foreign manager and i personally feel that the only reason one would take the job is because of the massive pay packet that comes with it, not because there heart and soul is in seeing England do well.

Whilst I agree completely, I think managing a team in the modern day has a lot more to do with managing players and tactics rather than having heart, soul and passion.

There's no good English managers so I wouldn't go with an Englishman atm.

That being said there's a dearth in quality of good English players too.

I think I agree with him. The UK general public is not informed enough to make a decision on the EU. We don't know enough (as strongly as I will argue for the EU) we can't make a rational decision on it with certainty and even if Remain wins it will probably be for the wrong reason.

The UK is a representative democracy, and the reason for that is because we accept that we can't be informed of enough of the decisions to make any objective judgment. If you argue that we should have a referendum on the EU, then why shouldn't we have one on the budget, why don't we have one on CTC cuts etc...?

As much as we all, rightly, dislike politicians. The principe of our democratic system is you vote for someone to represent you and to make decisions on your behalf. It's their job to be informed of the facts and to make decisions.

The problem with this referendum is the basic principle of a representative democracy has been thrown under the bus. Effectively the politicians have turned around and said 'we don't know, work it out for yourselves'. It's a shirking of responsibility that shouldn't happen. YouGov polling has shown that people inclined to Brexit don't believe what experts tell them, they don't believe what academics tell them, business leaders, politicians, anyone. It's hardly the best environment in which the country can make the best decision.

http://d25d2506sfb94s.cloudfront.net/cumulus_uploads/document/x4iynd1mn7/TodayResults_160614_EUReferendum_W.pdf (Raw data for that claim about trust, there was a better graphic elsewhere but I can't find it)

Then surely leave it to just politicians to vote then?

Getting a small group of like minded folk together and allowing them to vote on things that affect people that have nothing to do with them is silly, surely?

If it were up to me I would never of give a vote to the common idiots. What does Sharon from the post office or Bert the postman know about global economics? The vote should have been from economists, business leaders, politicians and those among the sciences who might actually have am understanding of how leaving might affect us in the months, years and indeed decades to come. rather than from the public who from my own interactions appear to favour leaving simply because 'there's too many Paki's ova' ere' takin my ard' earned dole money and all the jobs I never applied for'.

Leads down a very dark road that.
