Another Month.
So we've had another month and things are ticking by slowly but surely. We won't be getting promoted as we only have 4 games left, but we have something to build with. I think we have some good potential.
A poor defeat here, we never really got into the game and to be honest they deserved to win. Far more attacking football by them and we just couldn't cope.
A 4-3 margin doesn't show how good we actually were. We let two very late goals in so it looks closer than it was. We were excellent up front and in midfield but couldn't defend.
They were very lucky to go away with 3 points here. A last minute fluke goal. I'm so disappointed as it's 3 points lost.
3-0 within 14 minutes. Hugely impressive and then it was comfortable after that. Not much more to say.
A point is definitely not what I wanted. Another late goal conceded which is costing us crucial points. Should have been all 3.
So we are in 7th. Looks like we could go a little bit higher if results go our way. Hopefully we will win our remaining 4 games.

Cheers Tommo. Thats the aim.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The First Month
So I've been in charge of the club for 4 games now and things are starting to take shape. Maybe it's because of the strict meatball only diet and the fact that I recently renovated all my players apartments with IKEA furniture only. It's obvious it's had an effect.
So it wasn't the best of starts for Linköping but we should have won it. We had a disallowed goal late on and they then went down the other end and scored the winner. So disappointing but a promising way to start. The performance was awesome.
This was more like it results wise against a team no one expected me to win. Palmgren proved to me why I should start him upfront with a goal and I hope he scores more to help me climb the league. We absolutely dominated this game and I'm proud to have beaten them.
A game against the team below me in the league so obviously it's a must win. What a win it was. 6 goals for us, although our defence leaked 3 which was a bit of a disappointment, but I like the way my team can outscore anyone. A superstar performance in CM from Pehilj earnt him MOM.
The first derby of my career in Sweden. A close encounter. NOT. 4-0 and we have the bragging rights to the city. I didn't see it coming, but I will gladly take it. Gidlund came off the bench for an injured player early on and scored 2 goals. Impact sub.
I've risen 4 places in 4 games and I've been playing some awesome attractive football. Let's hope this continues.

A New Country, A New Job
It didn't take long for me to move the vodka and borscht company from Belarus to it's new home (although I think it's now a meatball and flatpack furniture stall now) as I've moved to Sweden.
I decided to move to Sweden and look for jobs here and one quickly became available and they were immediately interested in my services (GOD KNOWS WHY). You are now looking at the new manager of...
FC LINKÖPING
They are a team who have been in existence since 2012 (not sure why it says 2009 on the badge then) who play in the Division 2 Ostra Gotaland in Sweden. They enjoy a rivalry with AFK Linköping and BK Derby and have 50 season ticket holders so they are only a small club but a small club with big ambitions.
The league is about half way through the season and looks like I have another challenge on my hands:
#216398 Tongey's Travels.
tongey
I can honestly say I've never been sacked for this reason before, but I thought the squad was quite happy. The board didn't even come to me to explain myself?
Nevermind, onwards to the next country to give another club a go. Maybe I'll win a trophy for Christmas?

That's the plan Tommo.
They did, absolutely dominated it from start to finish Dan.

Preparations and Pre Season
So after last seasons consolidation in mid table, preparations began for the new season here at F.O.K Oktyabrskiy with new incomings and some outgoings in personnel both on the playing side and behind the scenes side.
Transfers in:
So no money was spent or received in these transfers for hopefully they will improve my squad. Bade'lko and Latyshev are both strikers with huge potential and ability for a squad like mine who should provide Kosmach some challenge up top. They also replace Trapashko who departed us after not wanting to sign a new contract. He went up to the top league. Yurut' is my new starting goalkeeper because Cherkas didn't have the best of seasons last year so a new keeper was needed. Hopefully he will do better than Cherkas. The final new incoming is Simonchik who is going to sit just in front of the back four and hopefully will provide some stability there.
Pre Season Results:
Not the best of pre seasons but it gave us some match fitness and the chance to try out a new 4-4-1-1 tactic instead of the favoured 4-2-3-1 I played last season. New players played quite well and we managed to get 2 wins, one against last years champions so that's pleasing.
The promotion odds came in and they rank me as one of the top teams with a price of 2-1 which are very good. Let's hope I can win some people some money for betting on us.

So it's been a decent first season in charge of Smolevichi. I'm settled here in Belarus and I hope to get promoted second time round. A few new signings in key areas and I think we have a realistic chance. The remaining fixtures are listed below:
3 wins, 2 losses and a draw isn't a bad way to end the season however I could have won a few more instead of drawing and losing. This has definitely been a season worth reflecting on positively as I've built a decent squad.
The chairman will probably leave during the Summer due to lack of finances but hopefully someone will come in with a bit of money to help balance it all out. I've kept the wages low so that should always help.
Player of the season for me has definitely been Kosmach due to his invaluable goals in important matches.
#216251 Tongey's Travels.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
THINGS ARE COMING TOGETHER
Nearing the end of the season and things aren't looking to bad for Smolevichi in Belarus. Not going to get promoted this season but we have the foundations for next season well in place. I've tied up all my players I wish to keep for next season and have identified the areas we need to improve on. The chairman also offered me a new contract:
When you're players are delighted you are staying, you know you are doing alright. In other news, the fans tried to take over the club but failed because they weren't happy with how the talks were progressing. It's a shame but our finances are pretty safe here. In the green and out of the red for once in my career.
The Fixtures:
Another mixed bag in the league but we are stable in the middle of the pack and rising instead of falling so that's always good. In the second round of the cup we lost on penalties to a team 3rd in the 1st division which made me proud and also a little disappointed but we were never going to win it.
The highlight of the past few games is once again against Minsk-2 in which we won 7-3. Huge win and good to see lots of my players on the scoresheet. No major disappointments or low points but we did lose against the top team when we could have pulled back bit of ground on them but this doesn't matter to much.
The league table looks a bit like this:
Sergey Kosmach has once again been the player to watch with 15 goals in 16 games. Hugely impressive performances and a special mention to Gleb Zakahran who came to me complaining he wasn't getting enough first team football, so I said prove it to me and he did. He's now a first team player every week.
#216123 Tongey's Travels.
tongey
I've made sure I have a few youngsters in the squad Tommo. I do like that rule. Keeps the youth coming through
simoncoyne the vodka and borscht business has been bought, and is thriving. You now own 10% due to original idea rights.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Half Way.
So it's half way through my first season in charge of Smolevichi, and things are a lot more steady than my previous three jobs. First of all I've had a steady squad for the majority of the season. I've had sound financial backing and haven't had any problems in that department.
Here are my results for the first 12 games in the league and my first round cup game.
As you can see, a very mixed bag but I'm more than happy with where I am. I feel that I can mount a challenge for the title from here if I get some luck thrown my way and it's about time I get some luck. The highlight of the first half of the season was definitely the 7-1 win against Minsk-2 who apparently hadn't conceded many before that game and I went and slotted 7 past them. The low point was definitely the 5-4 defeat to Gorodeya because I should have won that game.
An inspired few games for Kosmach who has definitely been on of my better players made him instantly my main striker. It's a shame that he got injured for 7 weeks however. I also have a set piece specialist in Tranchinskiy who seems to score most of his goals from free kicks.
This left the league table looking like this:
I'm in 7th with 18 points which is satisfactory. I'm currently 13 points behind the league leaders but they will slip up sooner of later. (I hope)
In other news. The chairman want's to sell the club so that's affecting my players apparently. let's hope that gets sorted out quickly enough and that a rich oil tycoon likes the look of living in Belarus and seeing the rise of a small time club.

Next Stop: Belarus
So it didn't take long to realise that Fruit and Veg just wasn't good enough for the Scots, so Belarus was the next obvious choice. Some of you lesser football fans will have no clue who Smolevichi are, and for you people I present the information.
Playing in the Persha Liga, the board want me to challenge for promotion and as I've never managed here before, or know anything about the league, I will do my upmost to do this. I think with my previous record, I'm definitely the one who can achieve this
#215844 Tongey's Travels.

I played the 5 games, drew the first one, lost the second one, won the third one, won the fourth one and then lost the 5th one, so a grand total of 7 points. I needed 8 points to keep my job.
End of the day I had lost my love for East Stirlingshire so I'm quite happy to be out of the job, but I wish I had done it in better style.
I'm going to hopefully find a job somewhere but let's be honest, who is going to want to hire me?
I will continue and improve.

3 more wins, a lot of losses and a few draws combined altogether is not good form. Bottom of the league, and in trouble. This happened.
I have 5 games, to get 8 points. Usually that's possible, but with my form and team I'm doubting it, 5 games to save my career.

Wilc94 I'm hoping it will be.
Cheers Tommo. A good base to work from.
Simoncoyne Elgin went down after a playoff with Brora, I've drawn them in the Scottish Cup 2nd Round. Grudge match.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
An awful start.
So it all started with a great win in the Challenge Cup where I got a great win over East Fife. 3-2 was good enough and into the 2nd round we went.
A hard draw against Championship Hearts awaited me in the 1st round of the League Cup and we got absolutely hammered as I expected but a good learning curve for the players.
The first league game was at home against Forfar. I didn't expect to come away with a win but I'm really proud of the lads for digging deep. We were a bit fortunate but a great start for Jay Doyle and a great start for us.
The second round of the cup just wasn't meant to be as we got battered by Berwick. We were so poor I have nothing else to say.
4 games in the league followed without a single point being won. I'm so disappointed as I thought we were starting to build a team. Especially as we had beaten East Fife previously, I thought we could have done better in that game specifically.
A couple of games to finish the month, secondly against newly promoted Brora where we gained a point which was pleasing since they are sitting near the top of the table which is a good achievement for them.
This left the table looking like this:
I'm 2nd bottom with a total of 4 points. An awful start quite frankly but at least we aren't bottom. Tbh this is the highest I've ever been int he league in one of these updates

PRE SEASON AT THE SHIRE.
Only the four pre season friendlies as we have cup competitions coming up before the season starts, and I'm pleased with how they went. 4 wins out of 4 and some good performances from my new lads. Most of pre season was spent getting in some new lads to bolster the squad which was left depleted after a lot of my players were poached or left on a free due to not being good enough.
My transfers for the season are as followed:
Bryan Wharton will play at the centre of defence and should provide more than adequate cover for the recently departed Dunsmore who was my main CB last season. I tried to sign him back but he chose Dunfermline.
I got Gary Wilson in on loan to be a striker partner for McKenna and hopefully they will provide some goals to help us mount a title challenge.
Next up. The first few months of the season.

DID WE DO IT?
East Fife (A)
A trip to East Fife was first on the cards and what an epic game it turned out to be. East Fife took a 3-0 lead which we pegged back to 3-1 then 4-1 then 4-4-2 then 5-2 going into the last 10 minutes. How we managed to get this back to 5-5 is beyond me but my players showed terrific spirit and fought to the end. 90+4 hit and my super sub Tahin came on to score the equaliser. 1 point gained. Elgin City lost 3-1 to Berwick, so the gap was down to 3 points.
Stranraer (H)
An important home game for us against a decent Stranraer team. A hugely important win especially because Elgin decided to beat East Fife in their game earlier in the day so we needed all 3 points to stay in contention of staying in the league. This game looked quite comfortable but for me it wasn't. I never believed we could close this game out but the lads did me proud. The gap remained at 3 points.
Elgin City (H)
So the important game came along. We took the lead which was too good to be true. Elgin then replied with 2 goals and I thought the miracle escape was over, but then we hit back and equalised in the 74 minute. This seemed to provide a momentum boost and a confidence boost to my team and we managed to grab what turned out to be the winner on the 80th minute which led to a nervous nail biting finish with Elgin City having a goal disallowed in the 89th minute. PHEW.
This led to the league table looking like this:
WE SURVIVED BY ONE GOAL. ONE GOAL THAT SAVED US.
EAST STIRLINGSHIRE AND TONGE SURVIVE TO LIVE ANOTHER DAY.
#215328 Tongey's Travels.
tongey
Simoncoyne lets hope it doesn't come to that playoff eh?
I really have got the pressure on Dan but I never choose an easy life as you can see. It will come good eventually.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
3 Games to Go.
So last time out we were unbeaten going into the last quarter of the season, but that came to an abrupt halt as losing became a little habit of ours.
Two Losses back to back against Stranraer and Elgin City was hard to take especially because Elgin are battling with us to stay up so to lose 3 points on them could be the deciding factor. We were never really in the Stranraer game but we should have got something out of the Elgin match.
4 points out of the next 2 games is something to be proud of particularly against Montrose and Stirling. We played really well in these two game but true to form our results are so up and down and we need some stability in the ranks to help us rise up the table.
10 goals conceded in the next 2 against Annan and Albion Rovers concerned me. We need to sure up our defence, which is injury riddled but still should';t be conceding that many goals. Shame to lose both games here but onto the next match I always say.
Another 4 out of 6 available against Berwick and Peterhead. Seem to be able to cope against the top teams better than the bottom teams for some reason. Should have won against Peterhead as well but I won't be greedy, it's another point.
So with 3 games left in the season we lie 4 points behind Elgin City and we play against them in the last match of the season so if we can get to a 3 point margin then we might be able to perform the miracle escape.
Some other good news is that the board have decided to fund my coaching badges after asking for a few months.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
An Unbeaten Start
So I've been at East Stirlingshire for over a month now and I'm enjoying my best run as a manager (That's not hard but I'm not complaining). I came in to a team that had lost 7 on the bounce and were rock bottom of the league by 7 points.
Stirling (H)
My first game in charge and against a very decent outfit. I put out what I thought to be my strongest team after being at the club for 2 days and they duly delivered their first point for 7 games. A hugely impressive performance but couldn't get the win.
Montrose (A)
Another draw and another point to the tally. I had Lewis Coult back from injury and he delivered with a goal to tie things up. It's a shame we couldn't go on to score the winner, but another point will do.
Stranraer (H)
My first win at the club came against front runners Stranraer. A double from my new striker Jay Doyle was great to see as he's trying to force his way into the starting line up. A massive 3 points for us as it's claws us closer to the safety zone.
Annan (H)
Another game, another point. I will gladly take them and keep the points ticking over. However I was very disappointed not to take all 3. We were 2-0 and cruising but then fell asleep and let 2 late goals in.
Albion Rovers (A)
David McKenna showed everyone why he is the clubs top goalscorer. What a great performance and another 3 to the total. We are on a roll. 5 games unbeaten.
Peterhead (A)
A trip to the league leaders and a game that I thought that we might lose. The players battled hard and duly deserved their point. Leading at one point, but couldn't hang on for long enough.
Berwick (A)
A 3-3 draw. An interesting and great game for the spectators. Another point and I'm happy.
So after all that, a look at the table and we are still bottom of the pile, but only by 4 points, and I'm pretty confident that we can escape the drop.

Thanks Shedender, I hope your luck will come true this time.
The Fruit and Veg stall is moving! It was about time to move anyway after a disappointing few years in Denmark. But I will be back Simoncoyne
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Tonge Moves Country
I've moved to Scotland as I'm sure they need Fruit and Veg there. Surely they can't just survive on a liquid diet of alcohol and more alcohol. I sent my CV out to a few clubs to see what was available and one club came back to me.
That's right East Stirlingshire want me as their new manager for some reason. 2 seasons in charge, 2 relegations and they sit bottom of the league. What in gods name have they hired me for.
Anyway you can view the club information here:
My time at the club begins with them sitting pretty at the bottom of the league with 19 games remaining. You can see the table below:
So the tough task begins all over again. Time to get some stability into the team and provide some happy memories for once.

Another Relegation
So it's mathematically confirmed that I am now relegation for the 2nd season in a row. Very disappointing as my team was starting to come together.

FC Rosklide (H)
A hugely important win at home. Starting to build my own fortress here. I was just about to settle for a draw but then up popped Fritze who scored a screamer in the last few seconds! 3 points.
Fremad Amager (H)
So much for the fortress, well if it was a fortress, it's now a ruin after a demolishing against a team battling it out near the top. Never turned up and disappointing from the whole team.
Hvidovre IF (A)
A massive win against a team I wasn't expected to get anything against. Hugely impressive performance and we are starting to grind some results out now. I'm pretty sure thats our first points away from home this year under my control.
Vanløse IF (A)
Back to losing ways, can't seem to get anything two games in a row, but never mind. Some good performances on show but we needed a draw at least against a fellow relegation rival.
FC Helsingør (H)
Should't have even bothered turning up. Poor game, poor performances, poor results.
HIK (A)
Another 3 points on the road, and a massive 3 points at that. The team below me and bottom of the league. Talk about a last second goal as well. Hugely important in the relegation race.
Frem (H)
From are a team who are battling for promotion so to come away with a point is massive. A point gained on the team above and we should have and could have won the game.
After these games, the league looks like this: with 5 games to go it's looking like a close nail biting finish and sprint to the line.

The First 5 Games.
Holbæk (A)
Not the best of starts here, an absolute pummelling from a much better team. I tried a new formation and tactic and it didn't really work out. Not much more to be said.
Herlev (A)
A much better performance, again away from home, but just couldn't grab a point which would have been a fair result. The tactic started to show signs of working.
Brønshøj (A)
The 3rd game in a row away from home, and again another loss. Never really got going but we made it to the half at 0-0 which I suppose is something. Just need to learn how to keep them out for longer.
NB Bornholm (H)
So my first home game in charge, and we managed to grab the 1st points of my career at GVI. A massive 3 points against the team directly below me in the table to give us some air. Clung on once we scored but we ground it out.
Svenbølle (A)
Back to the awful away form, a huge loss against a fairly poor team. They are near me in the table and I'm disappointed to have lost in that manner.
So after all that, the league table looked something like this: 3 points off safety and 3rd bottom. Hopefully we can keep the home form going and not play as many away games.
