Interesting, yes i see the DLP, but hes not even on defend, so not much help in defence, you dont have a "destroyer" type of player like Lucas for Liverpool, there is no role fit for him. Please show photos of the results when you get through the season, and what is your average possession?

No midfielder who protects the defence, you will concede a lot.

Yeah a little tweaking depending on your team is essential, glad to hear it worked for you.
I will update soon with my tweaked version for Wolfsburg and the results from the season winning DFB Pocal, Europe League and finishing second in the league just 1 point behind Bayern.

With wolfsburg i tested for 5-6 games, it is good, but i wasnt doing enough against the big teams, maybe because i dont have the right players for the roles or enough fluidity in the tactic cause i was in the middle of the season. I didn't check the passes, but its definetly a working tactic, however i would change the goalkeeper to sweeper support and maybe switching the mcr and mcl roles, could be better if dlp is on the right because you have an AMR.

yes and i have tried the tactic, i get 55-60% possession and control the ball in most games, which is not associated with counter tactics, plus those playmaker roles are more suited for a possession tactic, because they do less defensively and they try to recieve the ball as much as possible in order to control the tempo and make passing opportunities.

why is it called counter when its not counter attacking?

i have not tested it with a low level team, u can try to set both midfielders to defend or put them at DM position with support duty. Other thing you can try is to set player instructions to shoot less so players will wait for the right moment to shoot, it can help if they have low finishing or long shots.

this is what i use for defending corners, it works good, not unbeatable, but rarely concedes a goal, and also some good counter attacks are started if the ball is cleared to the winger

for attacking set it depending on your players, the 2 players i have set on go forward are usually the corner takers, so they dont have special roles, and i use 3 at the back because i got a left back who also takes corners when hes on, and i need to cover the space at the back.


for free kicks i leave it default for both. it seems to be working fine, concedes only if defender makes a mistake and scores often from crosses in the box.

An exceptional AMR, can play as a winger or a playmaker, very goods stats, however only rated at 3 stars and u can get him for only 4-5 mils from Sparta Praha.

Definetly, but keep in mind he plays best as regista, dpl or anchor man( but needs to improve on marking ability ). For a 17 y/o he has awesome mental abilities, you can train him for quickness, stamina or some technical ability,

hes awesome, I play with porto and use him as AP in the AMC position, he scores, he creates, and also scores some great free kicks .

When u choose tactic in the game dont click manage tactics, but click archived and see if its there( if u have put it in the tactic folder in my documents)

Check out this one its for 14 but it can work, main instructions for counter is direct passing, quicker tempo, drop deeper. Optional is hassle or stand off, stay on feet, be more disc and stick to positions, also play narrow and clear ball to flanks can be useful.

Hm, for a weaker team it can work also, if u got the right players for the positions, maybe try to experiment with "Be more expresive" or "Drop deeper" if ur defenders are too slow, and remove the offside trap. But if i change anything else it would be different play style. The goal here is to create a tactic with high possession and pressing. You can make it more defensive oriented through player roles, maybe use defensive wingers or ball winning midfielders. But for a weaker team in away games or versus a stronger team maybe a counter atacking tactic will be better.
