Snow is the colour from the background of the cut which was not totally removed. It is often white (hence ‘snow’) but it can be other colours. It can often be easily removed by putting the cut through remove.bg.

Here's a video on how you can easily remove any remaining snow thereafter within Photoshop:

@rice41, I've already banned an account of yours in the past because you repeatedly ignored the guidelines to not request images cut recently. Is there any reason why I should not ban this one too, since you're clearly doing the same all over again? a) this profile is for a lower-league Italian player born in 1993 who was last in the game in FM23 and is not that of the former Serie A player these photos belong to

b) these images are many, many years out of date. Even if this was the right timeline, there's no point in cutting images this old, not representative of what the person looks like

The photo being taken very very slightly from the side doesn't warrant cutting it again, especially when we have thousands of pending images, which take a higher priority. That's kind of why we have that restriction of not requesting images which have been cut recently.

Of course, if you want to cut it yourself and upload the completed cut, it will certainly be taken into consideration 👍

@Daniel Ewe, not bad but it could do with being rotated and at first glance it seems that some of the edges are jagged and not smooth. This thread contains guidelines for what we're looking for in our cuts in terms of dimensions, snow, collars, face orientation etc. and video tutorials for each element.

If you want to give it another go yourself, I would recommend using remove.bg, which is a free online tool which removes the background to an excellent standard, for free and almost instantly. Here's a couple of videos on how to use it, one when combined with Photoshop and another using photopea.com, which is a free online app so close to Photoshop that it has the same shortcuts, layout and icons.

If you don't have Photoshop, photopea.com is the tool I would recommend to use to tweak the draft cut produced by remove.bg. It's more powerful and versatile than GIMP and other similar tools.

RT7 got back to me via private message, and he confirmed that he had been producing AI-generated images based on the available source images. While I must say that they are generally quite good likenesses, I asked him to refrain from doing so again because they are, simply put, not real and actual images of the people in question.

@Lucas69, for future reference, when you have a lot of images to upload, then you should upload them as a pack instead of individually and save the both of us some time.

You can also upload up to 50 images per pack instead of just a maximum of 3 when done individually.

For future cuts, keep in mind that the face should be straight-on, rather than slanting or at angle; i.e. the eyes are ideally in a straight line and parallel to the top or bottom of the cut.

Posting images in comments is next to useless because they won't appear on the main submission forum, and there is a significantly lower chance that cutters will be aware of them.

Use the upload image button, it's what it's there for.

This is the exact same image, just not cropped like the request. What's the point?

It'll be an issue with the logopack(s) that you're using, and not with this fix.

Good source, but the person has been cut very recently and he doesn't need to be done again so soon, as per the guidelines.

Can I ask where you're getting all these fantastic sources from? It might be easier to explain so that researchers can use the same methods to get them prior to needing to be re-cut after a better source is found afterwards.

They don't need to be, because they're regulated via the removal of another file 😕
