I'm a bit confused by the question haha… Of course we would accept the official league site as a source. Why are you under the impression that we wouldn't?

Thanks, because the data on some of those sites at lower levels isn't always current. Albeit, in this case it is. Some of the other information like contract start and end dates isn't there either, but at that level it is almost always one year at a time anyway. I started with a couple last night and will keep going.

If I extend my project to the other official leagues in Scotland at those levels, would you accept club websites as valid for players there (I know at higher levels, clubs don't always show everyone e.g. James McCarthy at Celtic isn't on their site anymore, but there has never been an official note from anyone as to whether or not he has been released etc.). But at these levels, is it enough to accept current squads on official club sites as evidence a player is there in the absence of any other evidence?

Thanks

Hi @Footygamer , hoping you can help me before I get stuck into some more updates. With FM25 delayed, I know loads of people are likely looking to play updated editor file leagues. Personally, I use a file for the 24/25 Scottish leagues which includes tiers 6-10.  Generally, tiers 1-4 are well covered and up to date already, tier 5 partially in terms of this data update.

For some of the tier 6 clubs, the league website hosts a list of current squads which is accurate. While it may miss some players, those listed on the site are current players and you can see an example here:

https://www.wosfl.co.uk/team/692125234/504402802.html

My question is simply, will you guys accept the official league site as a source given the level of the league/clubs and players I will be submitting updates for?

I appreciate you can't be too relaxed, but at the same time, at this level of football, the official league site is likely the best and most accurate source of 24/25 squads?

In truth, lots of the players won't be in the database, but am I okay to go ahead and update those who are as I come across them using the site as the source?

Thanks for taking time to read, didn't want to start a big task if my source will be queried or not regarded as valid.

Cheers

It is probably unrealistic to think this, but if Miles or the team in general read this board, there is always opportunity amongst chaos.

The best bet would be patch FM24 with correct competition data and a data update soon and again after the window closes, give the option (or default) to August 2024 start.

Forget a March launch, the only draw, even if minimal, will be the data update and for those with more money than most who want to take a punt to see the new engine.

I think most of the community would prefer shelving FM25 if they move to a new release cycle that has FM26/27/28 etc. released by mid to late September each year, to align closely with the majority of transfer windows and give people a chance to shape their season almost in line with the real calendar (albeit I know not all leagues have an August start in real life).

If we end up with a solid FM26 with -85 potential, and an earlier release cycle in perpetuity, many hardened and loyal fans would prefer that as opposed to a semi-complete FM25 in March followed by November release of FM26 etc.

I could be miles out (no pun intended), but I think the above would be their best PR/marketing option.

In theory, yes it should negate the issues. In practice, it's exactly what created it in this case, however.

The megapack works fine, but it's clearly something both users have done (maybe the same thing, maybe not) which has stopped it from working probably. Trust me, you'd be surprised how often it happens that the megapack isn't working because it's something the user's changed which had unintended consequences.

Which is why I suggested keeping everything separate, thus avoiding this kind of issue arising.

Makes sense mate, it definitely isn't a pack issues, I should have clarified that. There will be a cache file held somewhere that needs cleared I think, just trial and error to try to find it

Surely using FMXML or similar would negate any potential issues. I have had separate folders for years, with some packs mixed with others within folders, but the logic in terms of how FMXML works would seem to suggest that the XML it generates should work.

I think the issue might come when your rename existing folders from what I can figure out

I have had the same issue past 24 hours out of nowhere, not sure how to sort, will let you know if I can figure it out. Use a combination of ASD, DF11, cutouts and older ones, could be my folder has too many faces now. XML all updated.

Comment, guys just reject this one, I can see the other guy got allocated as HoY in your update. That guy is only 21, and is not head of youth, but if a decision to implement that one was made then this one can be left as is.

Yes, pretty sure a few years ago it was posted that using editor file can prevent accumulation of all points. Not sure why that was the case, but I remember having a similar issue in FM18 or so and the explanation was to do with editor files.

It usually means that somewhere in the XML code for the skin or other graphics, there is missing code. I have no idea how to fix it.

Head of Youth Development better reflects his actual role in real life. Academy Director is what QP call it, but he isn't a coach, he is more senior and oversees all youth/academy work.

The game doesn't really have the role he fills, Coach (U18) would be closest. He effectively plans the coaching sessions all other coaches follow, but is under Tommy McIntyre - Academy Director/Head of Youth.

Apologies for the double update, it doesn't show that his loan club has changed in the entry.

He did start season on loan at Stenhousemuir but was recalled and sent out to Forfar until the end of the season as per the article on the club website.

His LinkedIn lists him as 'Head of Academy Coaching'

Yes, it is a role under the Head of Youth Development, he basically heads up the coaching plans, but is not overall Head of Youth

This is a confusing one as their are two profiles for this player that are both half correct. In any case, he has left Hearts.

This profile has correct former club, but wrong age by five years. The other has correct age and wrong former club. Both profiles have contracts at Hearts.

Original entry by @Brockie19 is correct, now on transfermarket and easily verified by both clubs social media, albeit they aren't good at updating actual websites given level of clubs.
