Well yesterday went as expected.

Poor manager, tiny squad with basically zero quality (worst Rovers squad I've ever seen) = relegation.

Venky's out, what a sorry state they've turned us into

He is terrible and possibly the slowest footballer I've ever seen. Don't be surprised if he ever gets sent off.

I heard Vermaelen coming in could mean Manolas going to the PL.

That doesn't bode well re Fazio!

And I hope not. If Vermaelen can stay fit he should do well, but he's only on loan and we seem to have loads of loanees - Manolas will still be first choice CB I think. Do have quite a few CBs though now, unless Spalletti is thinking of trying a formation with 3 of them plus wing backs.

Only just found out today that we've loaned Fazio to Roma. Unlucky @BR.

Oh dear! Haha what's he like? Not sure he'll be a regular starter though, with Manolas, Rudiger, Juan Jesus already and Vermaelen targeted.

Yo, me and the missus have booked for us and my son to spend Xmas in Dublin at her sisters gaff. We'll be there 24th-28th, anyone got any suggestions of what to do on the 26th-28th while we are there? Bare in mind my son will be almost 3 by the time this comes around so needs to be toddler friendly!

Really enjoyed Dublin Zoo when I was there, could check that out.

Can't see Belgium being that much different under Martinez. To be honest they've already almost been a bit like his Everton team of the last two seasons - plenty of talented players especially going forward, but little organisation.

I know LvG was a bit mad, but David Moyes is on another level, he is fucking deluded. His latest comments, fucking hell.

Saying that he was unfairly treated at United? If so, very baffling yep.

He seemed to be claiming that he shouldn't have been sacked after 10 months because he signed a 6 year contract - doesn't matter how long the contract is, if you're doing a piss poor job then you have to go. Did he expect the full 6 years with those results??

Right, I have put myself off my own suicide watch, I think. FUUUUCK!

Yes, we did concede three goals in stoppage time but it was basically over as they got the first goal; the other two was more of a result of us collapsing completely really. Exemplified in Jonas Svensson's tears on the third goal after he'd made a second crucial personal error. Poor lad.

That said, over two legs APOEL were the better side and deserve to go through. The fact that we didn't manage to kill off the tie when we completely dominated them in the 1st half in the 1st leg and should have been both 3 and 4-0 up came back to haunt us really. They got that all important away goal and last night we were very bleak in attack and never really threatened them. We've never really managed the art of defending a lead and that proved decisive last night. So close, but yet so far.

Oh, and last but not least. APOEL... never have I experienced a more disgraceful opposition. Doing everything in their power to confirm the South European stereotype of cuntish beahviour. Players running into the referee to fake injury, staff kicking balls out on the pitch to stop counter attacks and apparently our coach even received death threats from their bench: «We are going to find your hotel and come and kill you.» Fucking scum.

I hope they get battered in the play off round, that we draw them in the Europa League group stage and that we rip them a new one.

Bad luck mate, you must have been tearing your hair out. Had an eye on it on Livescore and couldn't believe the full time result when I saw it.

Draw for the final play off round on Friday. Praying that Roma avoid City!

We've also signed another world beater, Eddie Nolan joins. Released by York after their relegation, fans are saying he is garbage and one of their worst players last season. Operation conference in full swing!

He came through our youth system, so Bowyer knows him. He did that when he got the permanent job here, signed a couple of players he'd worked with when he was the youth team boss. One of them was Alan Judge (good player but we didn't get the best out of him, was sold again a few months later) and the other was Alex Marrow, who clearly wasn't good enough for the Championship and made about 2 appearances. So it doesn't bode well for you with Nolan!

Uwe Rossler takes charge at Fleetwood. Not too sure about that appointment, think it is probably just a short term thing in his mind.

His stock has fallen quite quickly, was only this time two years ago he was seen as a very promising young boss after his good work at Brentford, and his first half season at Wigan was excellent too - almost got them promoted despite the mess Coyle left (uh oh) and took Arsenal to penalties in the FA Cup semi.

Shame some of these games are in the middle of the night, wouldn't have minded watching Liverpool-Milan and especially Leicester-PSG. I'm sure there'll be plenty of other chances to see Leicester against Europe's elite this season though!

Today our current manager's old club come to see his new club, I can only hope the combined fans' hatred of their board members sees a below 1k attendance. However, I won't begrudge any Blackburn fans going to the game today as it is a good excuse for a summer weekend at the seaside.

Made the last minute decision to go with my dad so there'll be 2 people there at least! Venky's out, Oyston out.

Never thought Higuain to Juve would happen, they've got an absolute beast of a team now. And after taking Pjanic and Higuain from their most likely challengers in Serie A they've got the title wrapped up already, unfortunately. CL has to be the aim now with that team.

Looking forward to the receptions Pjanic and Higuain get when they return to Rome and Naples!

Don't see him getting another Permiership team if he doesn't end up at Sunderland. A promotion challenging Championship team is probably a more realistic aim. Maybe he'll be down here in Ipswich come Christmas, I don't think Mick McCarthy will last the season unfortunately.

Maybe Wolves if they've just been taken over and they don't fancy Jackett.

Speaking of underwhelming transfer windows, it angers me how fucking shit the clubs who should challenge Juventus in Italy are doing, Inter adding Banega was nice but they haven't done a single thing since, Milan have done fuck all and Roma and Napoli are busy making themselves worse. Lazio hiring Bielsa was a sign of hope, but of course they had to fuck that up. The only news coming out of Italy is bad news, like the rumours of Higuain, Bacca and Icardi being sold.

Juve are beyond nailed on to win it again this season, to be fair I think regardless of what the others do they'd win it, their squad is ridiculously strong and they've got a good shot at winning the CL I reckon.

Milan's takeover just seems to be dragging on and on but with their current squad they'll have another poor season yeah. Bielsa would have done well at first I reckon but it would have probably fallen apart as it has done previously for him. Have they given it Inzaghi permanently now? If so that's a bit unambitious, there are still good managers out there who'd take the job.

Roma are so much better under Spalletti than Garcia but that won't be enough to properly challenge Juve. (The new Roma away kit is amazing though, in more positive news!)

Higuain, Bacca and Icardi will all still be there come the close of the transfer window I think, can't see any of them moving.

EDIT: While you're here: We also had a young CB called Sam Lavelle on trial. He was at Blackburn as far as i know. What's he like?

Not sure unfortunately, he never made a first team appearance, don't think he ever made the bench either. I thought he was still here to be honest haha playing for the under 21's, probably best he moves on though and plays competitively.

Don't like Pepe but he was very good in the QF and final, that probably sealed his place in the team. I'd have him in there with Bonucci. Not much between those two and Boateng though in all fairness during the tournament.

Allardyce and Steve Bruce seem to be the favourites for the job now

Well out of those two it'd clearly have to be Big Sam. Bruce is steady enough but his top flight record pales in comparison to that of Sam.

In fact I'd say that if the FA want to give it to an English manager, then it's a no-brainer for it to be Big Sam. He'd come in and decide his strongest team, find a system to suit them then stick with it, something Hodgson was still making up as he went along in France despite over 4 years in the job.

What is Grant Hanley like then to our resident Blackburn Rovers fan?

He should do well for you, he's solid. His distribution isn't the best but that's not what he's there for really, he was comfortably our player of the season last season. Quicker than a lot of people realise too.

He's definitely good enough for the PL, I half expected someone like West Brom or Palace to come in for him this summer. In fact he was one of our better players the season we went down and that's when he was 19/20 and was 'managed' by Steve Kean. Should get better and better under Rafa.

Meanwhile we continue to sell our best players, replace them with loans and freebies, and have Owen Coyle in charge

Was a penalty for me too.

Well done to France, have to fancy them Sunday night now. There was just something missing for Germany, Mario Gomez isn't top drawer but they look a lot more balanced with a proper striker in there and somebody to hit in the box.

Superb effort from Wales (and what a goal from Robson-Kanu!), they've got a great chance against Portugal too. Although I wouldn't be surprised if it goes to ET and Portugal nick it or something.

Still can't believe that 2 yellow cards in 5 games gets you a suspension though, should have been wiped clean after the group stages.

Portugal, Belgium, France and Italy to get through I think! Very impressed by Italy yesterday, Conte has really got them going. Was pleasantly surprised by how good Eder was too. Him and Pellè might not exactly be Inzaghi and Vieri but I can see why Conte has paired them.

As for England....don't think there's anything else to be said. Still can't believe it though, that 'performance' last night.

Still looking forward to today and especially tomorrow's games though!
