Its been strangely quiet so far but its slightly mental how not so long ago, fees like £16m for Maguire would've been ludicriously over-the-top and now, in the cash orgy that is the Prem, its like buying teams are going "Meh, solid price".

£10m players have become £30m players, £2/3m players have become £10m ones, it's insane.

Can't wait for them to still be shit come the end of the season!

Yeah, after the last few years it's hard to imagine them just turning the corner all of a sudden. I really hope they can one day get back to something near what they once were, great club.

Don't know what happened to Juve second half. 1-1 at HT, they'd been the better team, never saw that coming.

How do refs keep falling for the same old antics from the same old players like Ramos? Joker.

City have signed Ederson, reminds me of Chelsea after Mourinho's first season of his second spell, getting their business done extremely early. (Although City still need more).

Got back from Rome yesterday morning, had an incredible time at the game on Sunday (and in Rome overall, what an amazing city). Brilliant atmosphere, especially when Totti came on and after the second and third goals, the place was packed out. A real privilege to have been there and seen Totti in the flesh. Stayed behind for well over an hour after the game when Totti did his lap around the stadium and his speech - plenty of men and women of all ages crying near me, it certainly was an emotional occasion.

Spalletti left this morning so not sure who'll come in now. If Di Francesco could come in and do a good job, then great. He'll be aware of the expectation levels and pressure after being part of the title winning team, but I wouldn't want it to be too soon for him.

How on earth did you manage to get a ticket for that? Not a bad choice for a first game though!

Used a site called Viagogo, it's not got the best reputation in the ticket world but Listicket (the official ticket site Serie A clubs seem to use) kept crashing on the day....Viagogo is like a platform for third parties to sell tickets but I managed to track down a few people who've used them a few times for Roma/Serie A games without any problem. Got my e-ticket delivered last week but yeah I guess I won't fully relax until I'm in the stadium haha.

Well I'm flying out to Rome tomorrow morning, I've never actually been to the city but the main reason I'm going is to see Totti's final ever game in a Roma shirt on Sunday. Bold move going alone haha but: Totti's last game + first time seeing Roma live + never been to the city = has to be done!

Spurs the first Premier League side to score 7 in an away match.

Didn't United win 8-1 at Forest late 90s? Solskjaer came on as a second half sub and scored 4 I think haha. Something crazy like that.

Banner flown over at Stoke..."Wenger out means out" or similar.

Even if he wins the FA Cup and finishes in the top 4?

That's exactly what they aren't satisfied with though, settling for top 4 finishes. If a strong end to this season and scraping 4th meant Wenger stayed then it'd only be exactly the same next year (CL last 16, fighting for 4th).

Stoke are dire. Hughes is undoubtedly a good manager but it's gone very stale there, best for both parties if he moves on.

Please Venky's just f*ck off and let us rebuild.

Hull would have seen today as a chance to extend their lead over Swansea, looking at both team's fixtures. Couldn't have gone any worse for them! Advantage Swansea now.

If he wants to play the groundsman at left-back on Saturday, he's perfectly entitled to do that as well. So long as they're registered to play, it's none of the Football League's business who does play.

Bang on the money.

I remember when Mick McCarthy, when at Wolves, made 10 changes for a midweek away game at United before playing Burnley (I think it was) at the weekend - which they won. They got done for the 'weakened team', if I remember correctly he said something like "who are the FA to decide what my strongest team is?". And he's right! Squad of players, use it however you please.

I'm getting tickets tomorrow for Brentford away on Sunday. Seriously early start with a midday kick off, and could be a wasted trip if we go down......we'll see.

Losing 2-0 to 10 men with a whimper tells us an awful lot about those squad players called upon today. I'm really sorry for Blackburn and Forest, to be honest,

Don't worry, you've got every right to do what you want with your squad of players. You've already achieved your target and if Wagner felt like today's team selection was best for you as a club then so be it. Just out of interest, do you think he'll do the same for the last game of the season?

We did what we had to do today (thanks Villa for being dreadful and some Villa fans for cheering us on) but still not confident for next week, Brentford away.

Congratulations Newcastle.

I have a feeling we will settle for a draw or deliberately roll over and die against Blackburn on Saturday so that Birmingham drop into the relegation zone. (Assuming that they lose to Huddersfield as expected)

We probably still wouldn't beat you even if you play at 50%. But yeah please do your best to let us win! We've been so blunt going forward last few games you might have to kick it in your own net.

And I've got a bad feeling Birmingham will beat Huddersfield. Redknapp's first home game, Huddersfield's poor record v struggling teams, Huddersfield playing tonight so less rest, etc.

It's almost like Empoli and Crotone have just realised that getting relegated would be a bad idea.

Winning successively at Fiorentina and Milan (Juve for example lost both of these fixtures!) is some going for Empoli, considering before these two games they could barely score a goal.

The Milan clubs, though......you think they might be getting a bit better and then they have results like they both have this weekend (and recent games too) to remind you how poor they really are. Would like to see Milan become a great team again, not too bothered about Inter haha.

I went to Wolves today. It was absolutely dire and would be 0-0 if they were still playing now. To say we needed a win we were extremely cautious (or just rubbish). We're going down.

Bayern were hard done by with some decisions last night; Vidal's second yellow was a joke and Ronaldo was a yard offside for his second. 4-2 wasn't a true reflection of the game at all.

Juve and Monaco to get through tonight I'm going for. (not exactly earth shattering predictions after the first legs admittedly!)
