Craig Sutherland

I was not expecting promotion so quickly in League One and quite frankly my squad was not ready...We were a solid League One side but would be outclassed by most Championship teams including Crystal Palace and Bristol City who also gained promotion...

Sutherland had gained the attention of Everton and was sold off for a decent fee so I had a little bit of money to work with (about 400k) and Nick Phinn was bundled to Bristol City for another 100k

2 pts from the opening fixtures saw my position under threat from new ownership....ungrateful bastards would still be slinging mud in League Two if not for me...so I quit.

I didn't want to stay in England and not long after I got an offer to manage in Norway's top division at Viking F.K. with dreams of Europe dancing in my head I accepted. With only 8 matches left in their season they were sitting in 12th place...



Striker Jo Sondre Aas was just returning from injury and finished off the season with a nice run ending in 7th place.

Realistically my squad needed some massive upgrading at striker and in defense so I went on a shopping spree...all but Hermannsson were brought in on free transfers...


Decent looking fullback


Deep lying playmaker who can play out wide or up top..love guys that can play all over


Pacey strikers works well in my my 433 system (see Craig Sutherland at Oxford) so I have high hopes


Young and defensive minded - hope he develops


Scouts rated him pretty high - he is young and I'm sure a future Icelandic international


Solid left fullback

Was able to land one more signing a pacey Japanese left winger named Yuki Otsu on a free transfer to complete out my 433 package...

so far things are going very well...



Also to the fourth round of the Norgesmesterskap Frisk Forsikring Cup after dispatching of Rosenborg in the 3rd round.

Surprise star has been Henri Anier with 9 goals in 8 matches....the crazy part being he has come off the bench for five of those and seems to be the most effective that way. Orlando Gaona Lugo has added 6 and 4 assists cutting in from the right as an Inside forward. His pace leaves most fullbacks flat-footed. I imagine bigger clubs will eventually come a calling for him.
