Wenger's absolutely useless with the mind games, unfortunately.

Could never handle Fergie, and sayng that Mou's afraid of failure - clearly not his niche.

At least he doesn't go around stating 'fachts' a la Benitez. Not that we aren't choking already...

Just seemed to me that as usual Mourinho spits his dummy out when he doesn't like something he hears or see's. He's already cried about what City spend even though he did exactly the same to get success at Chelsea, then of course there was the West Ham game where he once again forgot that he's played exactly the same way many times before against clubs when he first took charge of Chelsea.

He bores me to death now and is only ever interested in trying to make himself look better than everyone else, which is what he's been doing by saying how his side are not contenders for the title despite them having an almost equally good a squad as Man City, blokes a prick.

Meulensteen rung up BBC Radio 5 Live to confirm his sacking by the Fulham board.

That must be a first - a manager having to confirm his own sacking on national radio.

I think it's very disrespectful of Fulham to not even mention Rene in their statement, I know he didn't do well but he deserved better.

Magath is an interesting appointment though, his first appointment outside Germany.

Oh god you poor bloke! Wouldn't wish that on anyone If you'd started watching a year and a half/two years before you'd have seen some half decent attacking football that had us up to 4th in the Championship at one point!

And the 40,000 seater stadium idea for the World Cup bid was farcical! We average about 7,800 now (although that's amazing considering for the past two seasons we've been fighting relegation. Last year I'm fairly certain we had about the third highest average attendance after the two automatic promoted teams, or something like that)!

That's a shame, I missed the good football. Before Holloway stupidly went to Leicester I could have seen Plymouth going up. I remember reading that he regrets leaving.

The stadium was barely getting 10,000 when I was going, so expanding to 40,000 was bizarre! They paid quite a bit to buy the stadium from the council, and when the bid failed they fell into debt. Persisting with Rory Fallon and buying Mpenza were probably the biggest errors.

Fulham will definitely have at least 60 first team players next season.

I doubt Magath will stay around that long...

Damn near everyone here expects that if Ollie had stayed it'd have been us, not Blackpool. By all accounts he loved it here and didn't really want to leave but the board wouldn't back him (due to the financial mess that kept growing and growing, even then, not helped by shrinking gates) and so he followed the money. The one sting was him vehemently denying any sniff of him leaving but in the end he wasn't allowed out of his contract so he resigned in order to go to Leicester. To be fair to Rory he's unbeaten at a World Cup finals and scored a peach against Bristol City one time Mpenza's debut was quality, his injury record wasn't and neither were his wages.

Luckily we're now back under decent ownership and hopefully we'll one day be part of the Premier League Thread in earnest!

You're clearly missing the entire point of what Mourinho does. He's basically taken all the talk about Chelsea being title challengers and has deflected it back on to himself and also onto the likes of City, etc. That's classic Mourinho and how he works. The whole point of what he does is to kill the title talk of the club and pressures that come with that, allowing the players to simply focus on what's on hand. Inside the club they'll be confident they can win the title, but in the public eye all the talk has been about this season being the stepping stone and second being a good finish, given just how far the club were behind the leaders last season.

If City don't win the title this year the pressure and media focus had will be intensely crazy. If Chelsea don't win, it was never the goal.

It's basically that simple.

Its not that simple, as much as he says it the goal for Chelsea is to always win the title. The pressure on them is the same as on City. Just because he tells the media they not contenders, doesnt mean the media and public dont see them as one. The players are under pressure eitherway

Probably means his guff will be back on Sky Sports' commentary team then. Rats.

Just to make Fulham a bit more complex, its claimed Meulensteen is still on their payroll and may just be demoted to assistant manager, with Wilkins and/or Curbishley getting the boot.

Unholy mess. If they lost at WBA they're doomed.

Fulham have now confirmed Meulensteen, Wilkins, Curbishley and two other coaches have all been dismissed from their positions at Craven Cottage.

In the case of the first three, it seriously begs the question over how much of a point there was to their appointments.

Chelsea - Everton still 0-0. Martinez making all attacking substitutions is awesome.

Ozil not in the Arsenal squad at all which is interesting.

Demichelis, Dzeko and Nasri starting for City which is good to see
