Can't find the Express article, but Mirror reporting that Pardew is 'on the brink'. - Coming from Alan Oliver and his 'inside sources'. I find it incredibly unlikely Alan Oliver has any inside knowledge of Newcastle considering he has been banned from the club for years, and Newcastle seem to have replaced most of their staff since then. The insider has also released two quotes. The first makes him look like he is not a player, the second that he is a player.

Still can't see Ashley sacking Pardew anyway.

Oh gawd.

While a full article appears to be lacking online for the moment, scans of the back page of the Sunday Express tomorrow are on Twitter and have the Pardew story as their back page splash so it will probably appear online at some stage. Though its likely the Mirror article covers the same basic points.

Ashley selling has been rumoured for ages in any case. Who knows why he hasn't done so already - the only benefit he's really getting from this continued relationship is a reduction in the SportsDirect advertising budget.

Absolutely no idea. Ashley's previous appointments are;

Keegan - Left field surprise
Kinnear - His mate as an interim. Made more permanent as he was doing alright.
Shearer - Left field surprise
Hughton - Coach. Was doing alright so made permanent.
Pardew - His mate.

Hard to predict what would be next tbf. Personally Pulis would be my pick...

I hear Kinnear's available...

Kinnear tbf to him wasn't that bad. Slightly worse than Pardew maybe, but not by that much.

Oh gawd.

Basically, I think no one is going to buy Newcastle at the current price. I think Ashley wont sell for a loss. And the club still has £100m+ debts.

Besides literally every thing Ashley does now, is viewed by some fans as an indicator he's going to sell.

Most of these debts are owed to Ashley himself - a Deloitte financial report last summer into the financial health of clubs said we owed him around £260M, which is similar to what it cost initially to buy the club, clearing the (majority of the) Shepherd-Hall era debt and money that was spunked on sacked managers, terrible Allardyce-era signings and the like.

This is where theories about him recouping his investment by gradually bleeding away money is likely stemming from. All that before this live within your means ideal that has been the motto since promotion being taken to extreme, or the fact combined matchday and commercial income has halved since he took over.

The Express article is now online but is exceptionally transparent so probably best ignored, much like all output from that paper.

Would like to see AVB given a go here, less expectations of competing at the top of the table might see him come into his own a bit.

Redknapp/Laudrup would be good choices too. Unsure if Pulis has the skills to take a club from midtable upwards, deserves a chance though I suppose.

I doubt AVB or Laudrup will manage in England again for the foreseeable future. I wouldn't really want Redkapp either, a bit corrupt and I get the impression that he can't really be arsed any more. Not to sure if AVB/Laudrup would fancy Newcastle as well.

I think Pulis deserves his shot, at a bigger club. Providing he has learnt from his mistakes at Stoke. I'm just impressed with what he has done at Palace, and would like to see what he can do with better players.

I just think Pulis has too many limitations and if he didn't hit the ground running he wouldn't have the trust of the fans.

I think Laudrup would manage here, not too sure about AVB.

Hard to say really. If it's true that he got a massive payout from Swansea, I think that would stop him managing in the PL for the next 18 months. My gut feeling is that he'll get a big foreign job in the summer.

Although I think the point is moo anyway, and Pardew will still be here.

I'd like to see someone come in with a bit of tactical nous and see what they could do with our players.

Kills me to see players like Ben Arfa look so clueless.

I believe the fan-coined expression is "Pardewed", which stems back to when he preferred Hayden Mullins and Marlon Harewood to Javier Mascherano and Carlos Tevez at West Ham. Fuck knows what's going on given we still don't know what Sissoko's best position is, or where Cisse's form went, or why Davide Santon has gone from shutting out Ronaldo to being a weak link opponents routinely target. And all that before HBA of course.

Certainly, even without a certain departed Mr. Cabaye, we have the backbones of a team that could legitimately challenge if it had a smidgeon more tactical awareness.

I wouldn't be the biggest supporter of Pulis coming in and as Poe mentioned I don't think he'd get the support of the general crowd if he didn't start well.

Laudrup I'd love, AVB I'd love too as I agree that less pressure to fight at the top would let them develop a bit more and maybe help us be one of those teams in 'the best of the rest' rather than mid table strugglers.

Redknapp would be my worst nightmare if I'm honest, despise him and the way he goes on and the way he just signs and signs and signs players means that he definitely wouldn't fit in with the current regime. He's turned us down already, remember.

For me I think we need to go foreign, we've got so many foreign players that we may need a manager with a greater understanding than just hard work. Someone to get the best out of the likes of HBA (if he stays, if the papers are to be believed) along with the likes of Anita and erm...Shola?

I vote Bielsa. Bielsa. Bielsa. Bielsa.

Bielsa would be awesome.

Someone that knows how to organise a team with tactics rather than by telling the wingers to tuck in would do me, tbh

Unfortunately we're stuck with Pardew.

He'll keep us up every year and that's all Ashley wants.

I would be far more worried about Laudrup/AVB not getting support that Pulis.

For some inexplicable reason Twitter has restarted the old rumour Vince McMahon from WWE wants to buy the club.

Amazingly, the site that posted the rumour has now crashed. Though at the very least its given them the publicity they wanted.

Since Arsenal last won a trophy - The Newcastle owner won a ECW World Title.

EDIT - Since Arsenal last won a trophy, The Newcastle owner reformed ECW, won the ECW World Title and disbanded the ECW.

Hope Vince jumps the rails at the Villa match - "you know who I am, but you don't know why I'm here"

Or Pardew starts claiming a 'higher power' is influencing team selection.

I can picture it now; Vince McMahon is in the centre circle at the 0-3 Arena (that's what Newcastle's ground is called these days, right?) ready to sign the papers to take control. But then Shane appears on the big screen and reveals that he's already bought the club! The players then make their entrance on to the field to the sound of 'here comes the money'.
Then they lose 0-3 again.

Oh fuck no, not Khali in goal, I'd rather have Big Show between the sticks.

I'd rather have Ryback and Lesnar as centre backs. Two BEASTS!
