I'm personally loving it so far. I'm not too far into my save, approaching the final third of the season. Decided to take up Celtic to get into the game, what I thought would be an easy league but a huge continental challenge. Turns out it's the opposite for me!

I know alot of people are complaining about the match engine but I'm finding it quite enjoyable. Players seem to have frequent bad vision and slow movement. Keepers tend to spill the ball an awful lot and the amount of shots from a stupid angle can get quite annoying at first. Once you get used to it you come to expect it from both sides, though, and I'm slowly beginning to praise the little things they've introduced and the graphics overhaul more and more. The only thing I can't get used to is the amount of fucking shit long shots my players try to take when a perfect through ball gives my striker a shot, that or they'd rather pass it round between 3 midfielders for 20 minutes then fall over their own feet. I assume this is patchable, though?

I'm finding it hard to get a consistent run of results together, I'm dropping points at Ross County & Dundee United whilst holding Man United and Spartak Moscow to draws away from home. I think the tactics and training have been taken to a new level which is easy to use but hard to master which gives the game a bit more replayability than it does already.

But more importantly I think the news is better and makes you feel more involved, especially come end of season and transfer deadline days. Press conferences, relationships and morale seems to be a bit more realistic and doesn't seem to get stale and boring too quickly. The AI, despite people also complaining, I think has improved drastically.

To finish off since my fingers are getting a bit fed up, I really love the default skin and layout. Again people complained about this, but just with the facepacks, kits and logos the game looks very polished.

By far the best FM yet. One or two annoying little features, such as loading the match report after clicking on a match, but all in all very good.

Good game, addictive all i want to do is play it. Only problem concede loads of goals at my keepers near post a little unrealistic to be fair. Oh well.

*bored at work* lol

It could be my tactics, but even with more pressing and a mid-high defensive line the back four keep falling back to the penalty box when defending, often causing good shooting opportunities from 18-20 yards. It is pretty much the same when I have the ball in the attacking third. Pass it around for a few minutes and then have a go from 18-25 yards, even with "work ball into box" ticked. Going to try a classic-tactic to see if I can fix it. Apart from the match engine the game looks pretty good, with the new training part and the coaching courses as personal highlights.

The ME needs some work but it sounds like the developers know the weak points (defenders not closing down aggressively enough, players missing interceptions and rebounds that seem easily within reach) and are working on them.

i think it's brilliant, only very early on so still trying to master things. Not sure whether there is too much detail involved or whether i'm just not quite used to it yet, but looks brilliant.

Kits and logo's are a must though.

I've played a handful of games with a very decent Cardiff team.

Either I've created something golden via the tactics wizard or I've got lucky.

Won my opener 3-0 away to Birmingham, followed that up with a 3-1 win at home to Blackpool and even a decent 2-0 away win to Huddersfield.

My only complaint is the match day screen. I'm old fashioned and I miss the traditional '2D Classic' screen.

Other than that, it looks solid.

Only 5 days in playing fm2013, I have reverted back to playing fm2012.

I think the new game is awful. I cannot load as many leagues as the last one.
I know it's my laptop processor, but I had about 50 leagues all in chosen. Huge database also with 70'000 players.

With the new one I have England & Scotland (10 leagues) added. Large database. Which is only 18'000 players and I get half a star for game performance/speed.

I not going to get a different processor just to play this. Waste of 35 quid.

Why is it the minimum required specs higher this time?

best FM in a while in my opinion, yeh there are some annoying things like when the opposite team plays a through ball and your defender just watches it roll past him then think shit i better chase that after they got through one on one. but i am enjoying it at the minute after getting ranger promoted and battering the third division,

Loving this version more than any other since around 07.

The match engine has been great for me. Nowhere near as predictable movements or passes or goals than in previous versions. In one game, my keeper raced out of his goals (not straight on, sorta towards the left touchline) line, then just had to stop when he realised the winger was getting there first. Winger simply lobbed the ball from the wing and it crept in. Despite being annoyed at losing a goal in this way, I had to respect the ME for the whole move, that wouldn't have happened in other versions. I also like the way the wind can dictate where the ball goes. I've had keepers kick the ball out and it get nowhere near the halfway line as they're playing into the wind.

Fantastic game.
