Couldn't have a much easier game for the new players, it'll be an easy win and people will probably already believe that Utd are 'back'.

I'm fucking distraught that we panic bought Di Maria when we could have had Cleverley playing in central midfield still.

Aren't you bothered about how we've sold our soul too?

Makes the knobbers like Robbie Savage (who had Blind playing at centre back instead of Evans and Di Maria at Right Wing back in his team) pretty much so he could slag off the fact that there were no academy lads in the team look a bit ridiculous when Evans partners Blackett at centre-half.

Yeah we know it's only QPR. But any improvement in performance and more importantly confidence is a massive step forward.

We look much better with 4 at the back. Much quicker passing and Di Maria is absolute tits. Reminds me loads of a young Giggs the way the just bombs forward.

Blind at that base of midfield looks like being an utterly inspired signing. Everything Fletcher does wrong there he's done right and a goal and an assist for Herrera (two if you count being fouled for Di Maria's goal).

Having a midfield for the first time in 6 years is pretty good.

It's a surreal feeling seeing us actually have a functional midfield!!

I'm pleased that Man Utd's £150m midfield is good.

Warms the heart.

Blind - £20m, Mata - £40m, Di Maria - £60m, Herrera - £30m

Roughly?

(Not that it matters, it's still very expensive)

Ah, thought you meant what we'd spent this summer.

£140m then.

Much better. Still more to do, especially defensively and up front (thought Rooney and RVP were both shocking today) but starting to look like a real team with some sort of identity. Closing down noticeably quicker and moving the ball a lot quicker.

Yeah we obviously weren't tested defensively today and it's no secret we still need at least one world class centre back. Maybe even another strong midfielder like Strootman/Vidal or whatever. Sort that out and I'm pretty sure we can consistently compete at the top again.

But honestly the best thing about today was the tempo we played at.

QPR are dogshit. Certs for relegation if they keep this up.

Watched some of the match, very good display. Our season has finally begun.

Di Maria was brilliant, his pass to RVP in the second half was amazing. Impressed with Blind too. And goalscoring midfielders, so weird.

Van Gaal's a good manager.

I just find the idea that your season's "finally begun" because you beat an absolutely rubbish QPR side at home, absolutely hilarious. Also, the idea that one's season doesn't start before you win a game, is fucking silly.

You're obviously easily amused.

No shit our season began at the same weekend as everybody else, it's a figure of speech. We've finally got up and running, it was only QPR but it was also only Swansea, Sunderland and Burnley, but we were still shit those matches. Today we won, progress, we're up and running.

Ta da.

RVP wasn't great, Rooney's been dreadful for ages - his first touch really is poor.

The tempo we played at was great.

QPR may as well have stayed on the team bus. Martin Tyler was also painful to listen to today.

I thought Rooney played well but hey ho.

One pass he did not long from the end was absolutely top drawer. But today was the kind of game he can ping those around, 3-0 up at HT at home against a poor team.

I thought Rooney was average today, took his goal well and set up Herrera, but nothing great.

Di Maria was top drawer today, can't wait to see more from him!!
