Wasn't it Spurs who got upset with De Boer when he went public?

Also are people seriously thinking the Ajax manager wouldn't want to work under Ashley due to the possibility of player sales?

Steve Bruce has shot from 16/1 to 7/2

'Arry will jump ship, no doubt. He missed his opportunity when he was at Pompey, now's his time to potentially financially cripple another club!

It'll be Ally McCoist or Sherwood or something.

Oh dear God no.

Sherwood is not the worst pick in the world, although in terms of attitude he wouldn't be an improvement.

I've seen Slaven Bilic suggested and I'm surprised he's not mentioned for more BPL gigs. As much as de Boer would work, I don't see him happening, and the same goes for Pulis, albeit for political reasons in his case. God knows why Steve Bruce is being suggested.

Yeah Sherwood could probably do a decent job at Newcastle.

I really wouldn't mind Sherwood.

He'll be similar in quality to Pardew but his football will be way better.

Unsure if he'll be as much of a little bitch as Pardew is, but we'll wait and see.

Club have confirmed compensation agreed and Palace have permission to speak to him.

Amazing how quickly this has developed from a whisper to the big story in town. Also irritating and a bit boring to see the queue of people describing NUFC fans as fickle.

If he's desperate for a chance in the Premier League he may bend over for Ashley.

In fairness it seems to be the people who were most Pro-Pardew are now the most anti-Pardew....

Just not Hoddle or Sherwood. Just not Hoddle or Sherwood. Just not Hoddle or Sherwood.

Some of the tabloids are saying John Carver wants to be made first team manager.

That would really end badly.

Glenn Roeder has urged Newcastle to try and get Jurgen Klopp. Ha.

Meanwhile, it seems as though John Carver has suddenly leapt up the table, given he has apparently said he wants the gig full time. Oh god.

I can see someone cheap being in charge until the end of the season, then Ashley selling up.

Carver confirming in his post match that Steven Taylor is out for the season with Achilles tendon damage.

So that's Coloccini (not in his most convincing form) partnering Williamson (urgh) or Dummett (can't be as disastrous there as he was at LB today) unless a new CB is found. Yippee.

Apparently Newcastle want Tuchel.

Good news is Hamburg, Schalke and Leverkusen have all appointed new managers this season, and Klopp seems to be soldiering on. Bad news is no one seems to have a clue what's happening with his sabbatical.

I bet Moyes wished he waited for a job a little longer, Newcastle job would have been right up his street.

French saying Remi Garde has held talks on the job, while Sunday Sun think Ketsbaia is in the frame.

Not sure on either - although the former's Lyon record looks good - but can't be any worse than John Carver getting it full time for any length. We had a discussion on here a little while ago about the idea that the first team coaching was sub-standard under Pardew, and it doesn't look like giving them the bump up will function.

Ketsaia is a nutcase

I'd take Remi Garde, Thomas Tuchel or Galtier. They're the foreign coaches with closest links to the job I think.

Written press claiming that Remi Garde is going to be confirmed this week. Not the wost appointment, but then I don't follow much French football so I'll await to see for sure if he's any good, assuming he's mad enough to sign up.

Meanwhile, some "Business Consultant" on Twitter is claiming a £245million takeover is in the works. Doubt it.

Cabella is the best player in the world to have contributed to less goals than Mike Williamson this season. Had quite a good game yesterday mind, but that doesn't make his earlier season performance good.

No idea if Remi Garde is any good, seemed to transform Lyon from title winners to Europa League regulars in a short space of time, and Lyon seem to have kicked on without him. But at least he seems to want the job, rather than fucking about like de Boer. Don't know why it's taking so long though.
