You'll be sore in the morning!

Little achy this morning, nothing too bad though, I'll run again on Wednesday and probably aim to do an extra mile, just keep adding it up. However I am dreading the morning after the actual event

Started playing football again.

Annoying how hard it is to gain fitness, especially with doing loads of overtime at the minute.

Quick questions, how much do you guys weigh? (and height)

Yeah takes a good while to build football fitness up again.

I'm about 16-17 stone which is 108-110kg and 175cm which is 5'9.

A good 4-5 stone overweight \o/

Feel like I should be bullying players more due to my size, but I'm not actually sure what average size people weigh.

6'4 and 176 pounds

Indoor/Astro is the best way to get your fitness up quickly (combined with outdoor obviously) as it forces you to always be moving as well as always being aware. Also drills like "hineys" where you sprint all out across he pitch (bottom left corner -> top right -> top left -> bottom right) will have you fit in no time

Weight and Height are a bit general though. If you added body fat percentage in then that shows a true reflection of fitness I feel.

Weight and height are a pretty good guideline to go off.

176cm and 73kg.

Got a running test & swimming test on monday. Got to run 2.4km in 11m 9s. Did it last week and got 9m 46s, so that should be comfortable. Swimming test I have to jump into a pool in overalls, tread water for 2 minutes then swim 50 metres. The length is easy, but I imagine treading water for 2 minutes in overalls is going to be tough.

Body Fat percentage doesn't really tell you anything about how fit someone is, just how fat they are.

Well yeah but naturally assuming less body fat means fitter.
Would say its more accurate than height and weight.

Not like either is very good to go off though

Well yeah, obviously at the extremities yeah. A person with an athletic body fat percentage (6-13%) is going to be fitter than someone who is obese (25%+) but about 90% of the population are going to be in an incredibly small percentile range where you're not going to glean anything useful from it when it comes to assessing fitness alone.

Thats not to say that Body Fat Percentage is a useless indicator, but its no more useful than BMI which is viewed negatively for pretty much no reason.

Christ I feel as fit as an old age pensioner after today!! Played three games of indoor and it was some fucking struggle. Can definitely feel the difference since I stopped going the gym back in November and the heat today almost killed me. Apparently it was close to 40 degrees inside the indoor complex.

Yeah, I am playing 5-a-side. - Just frustrating trying to play against teams that are already at fitness.

Also bought shinpads. Reaction seems to be people calling me gay.

Who wears shinpads at 5-a-side? Only fags and people who are there to break legs.
