At the age of 37, the Argentine central midfielder decided to complete a great and brilliant career, honoring our own stadiums as a player of Olympiacos for two years (2015-17), where he gave his best and was a great professional.
Cambiaso decided he could not play any more at the level he wanted and it was time to stop. He will dedicate himself to training, having obtained his first diplomas, having successfully passed the exams in the Italian province of Copernicano. Originally as a coaching assistant or as a first coach in a Youth team.
He is not going to give up football, that's the only thing we'll just see from another party. He will transmit his passion and knowledge from the edge of the bench. Until now he was ... coach in the court, now he will be out of it, as was his great desire.
A few weeks ago, speaking in "La Nacion", he had suggested that the end was close: "There are not many choices, one is to continue playing, the other not to go on, there is no impasse, I do not believe in dead ends. Today I feel like I'm a footballer, we'll see. Thinking and choosing are more complicated than when I was 18 years old.
I left Inter, I played in two different countries (England, Greece) and that improves and adapts you. Adaptation is both personal and family stress. We will see in a few weeks.
Returning to Argentina seems complicated. I've been away for many years. As a person, I do nothing less than 100%, but adjusting to Argentina's football, the role I ought to fulfill, would require an adjustment of 120%.
The lure is great, but if we count how many people turned out and how happy they were, the percentage is small. I'm not saying I'm glad because they won titles like Milito or Veron, I'm happy about his decision. They are a few".
