Frequently Asked Questions
If you're not a premium member, it is recommended that you download the base megapack via torrent by going to our cut-out megapack download page. After which, you should then download all the update packs released to date and apply them chronologically.
If you're a premium member, just download the most recent complete pack.
If you already have a version of our Cut-Out Faces Megapack installed, then click "Download Latest Changes" and you'll be presented with a list of all the updates we've released since you've last downloaded a file. Simply download any you might have missed, applying the oldest first and continuing to apply update packs in the chronological order in which they were released.
Contrary to previous versions of the game, there is no need to change any settings in the preferences in FM26.
If done correctly, you should be asked if you want to overwrite files – accept. You should have one folder for faces and another folder for iconfaces, and no sub-folder whatsoever in them.
These steps are to be repeated for every update pack downloaded, and they are to be installed chronologically.
Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. It might be for FM24, but the steps are exactly the same.
Otherwise, follow the steps in this comment and post the results so that we can assist you.
As a result, the iconfaces are no longer available for download because they're not needed. You should also delete the iconfaces folder manually from your system too 👍
It is recommended that the user data location is not placed within the Steam installation folder as this may cause issues.
Torrent files need a torrent client to be downloaded. I personally use µTorrent but other common clients are BitTorrent, Vuze and Deluge. For those using torrents for the first time, here is a general walk-through on how to download torrents and a specific guide for µTorrent.
Be aware that it will take a substantial amount of time to download the file due to its sheer size and that other people depend on you hosting the file to get it so please leave your torrent client on after you have fully downloaded it. The etiquette is generally accepted to be to upload as much as you download, although this might not always be possible. The older the torrent file, the less likely it is that there will still be users seeding it.
Secondly, for files as large as this, the calculation of the extraction time will be wildly incorrect at the start. After a while, it'll show a more realistic timeframe, which shouldn't be more than an hour or two if you have a good setup and few programs running at the same time.
Try using Google Chrome in incognito mode (or the equivalent mode for other browsers) and you should be able to resume the download from the point it was interrupted, if that happens.
Alternatively, you can download fmXML and generate a config yourself. There's a video on YouTube on how to use it but it's really easy and the instructions are quite straight-forward.
To get them to show, you should individually download any previously available cut-out faces from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

i have the facepacks installed however none of the faces work on the france national team page. Oddly, i can see the faces of the players if i access them via their clubs,
ie cant see Paul Pogbas face on french national team page, but when i go to the Juventus page it works.
any tips?
i am having this problem on my PC and my laptop.

It's a licensing issue and easily solved, even in the middle of a save game, by downloading this file.

Both of those players are in the megapack and so there must be a problem with the installation of the file.
There could be 2 issues.
Either:
a) You did not download the full megapack.
b) You did not install it correctly.
In the case of (a), this can be easily verified if you check the amount of images in your megapack folder. There should be 163,800 images or thereabouts. If this is correct, then please upload a screenshot of your megapack folder so that I can check if (b) is the case...

In this FM16 there isn't the option to change the default folder from C:\Users\user\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2016 to H:\etc
I want to place the megapack inside my H:\ hd.. How can it be done?
Thank you

This feature was removed because it was apparently causing confusion among users, however it is still possible to adjust your Saving Location if you don't want it in the default location, however you now need to add a command line to the game launch options.
(NOTE: You only need to follow the below instructions if you want to move the location, these instructions aren't needed if you are just wanting to add content to the default location).
To do this follow the instructions below:
- Go into Steam -> Library -> Games view.
- Located Football Manager 2016 and right-click on the game.
- Select 'Properties'
- Click 'Set Launch Options...'
- Copy the following into the dialogue box: --user_data_location="<path>"
- In the <path> section, enter the exact path you wish the folder to be generated (ie D:\Users\ etc)
So for example if you wanted your Saving Location to be S:\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2016
You would add the following text to the dialogue box:
--user_data_location="S:\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2016"
So your Launch Options box should look something like this:
Note that this folder location needs to already exist on your hard drive before setting the launch option, then when you next launch FM2016 the game will automatically generate the needed subfolders (such as graphics, games and skins).
If done correctly the contents of your custom User Data Location should look something like this after having run the game with the launch option set:
Also note that if you have any already created anything in game with the default location set (such as save games, shortlists, or tactics) you will need to manually copy the items over to your new location.
To reset your Saving Location to the default position you just need to delete the command line and on your next restart of FM16 the game will go back to using the default location. (Again you'll need to maunaly copy over any existing files from your old custom location to the default location for them to be read by the game).

The bit in bold is not right. You need to put all the changes into the main megapack folder, overwriting when prompted.

Hi, i have more or less the same problem as this guy except i put them all in the same folder after downloading "latest changes" but i don't know which config to keep?
also are all the Liverpool FC youngers in this, ie Yan Dhanda and Bobby Akenbye etc? if so i have not applied the latest changes properly.
EDIT
is there a video up on how to deal with adding updates to already big mega face graphics?
thanks
mons
Overwrite everything when prompted
If you want to check whether those players are in the megapack, then find out their UID and use the megapack search tool to check

Double checking now and there is 127569

Anyhow any advice would be greatly appreciated. You can take it as read that I am familiar with how to tick and untick the relevant boxes etc in Preferences.
Thanks

Hi there, sorry to hear you're having trouble. As you're a previous user, I'm going to assume that you've not made a mess of the installation.
It's very easy to see if you are missing the config file. Open your megapack folder and sort the files alphabetically. Go to the bottom of the list, and there should be a file named config.xml. If there isn't, wait a few days until I release 8.02 and you can add the new images and use that config file. The torrent is safe, I created it myself and haven't had a problem in the past years with it - but if it's just the config you're missing, then it's not worth re-downloading the whole thing all over again.
