Blackburn vs. Brighton tomorrow. A game with draw written all over it.

If you've got anything about you, then you'll beat us, we're dreadful. If it's a draw then neither of us are getting near the promotion spots. Will let you know more about the game tomorrow night once I've got back from it.......may the best team win......

Drawing is our thing at the moment. I struggle to see us breaking that before Christmas.

As I mentioned earlier to PA on FB, very surprised our game was called off today. It was dry all yesterday/last night, obviously it was lashing down all today until about 2pm but the game a few miles down the road at Accrington Stanley is on. How embarrassing. Some Brighton fans have gone to that game to support Plymouth, fair play.

'Incompetent' would be a word that sums up everybody at Rovers these days.

You'd think they could invest in some big sheets or some shit and like a window to see if it looks like it might rain.

Winning 1-0 against Colchester the moment, Bit annoyed I'm missing it but I'm now skint after Christmas shopping.

Gerrard's red was an absolute abortion of a decision. We have to appeal.

Forest beat Leeds 4-2, a few hours later they sack their manager.

Bizzare.

Berg's having a nightmare. Think he'll be gone soon, whether it be a sacking or him resigning. If he resigned he'd still leave with his reputation intact and all blame would be attatched to the f*ck ups in Pune. And Shebby. Which it should be. It's been just over two years since they sacked Big Sam, it's been an absolutely minging two years.

Do you think Berg's doing the managing, or is Singh pulling the strings behind the scenes, dictating team selection and tactics? Because I can't see the side you've got struggling for any other reason. I honestly reckon Berg could be canny enough, but his hands may be tied.

Anyway, we were thoroughly dire today. First half was as bad as I've seen, and but for some highly entertaining 'finishing' could have gone into the break 3 or 4 down. In the second we were much improved (though that achievement was achieved after the second successful pass) and took the lead after a good little spell where we'd made a couple of chances for Beckford, who worked his socks off, with Gerrard powering in a header from a corner. We actually defended well until stoppage time, when two men decided to not bother even closing Ince down, and he crossed for Delfouneso to score with a flashy little backheel. Gutting to lose two points like that, but we wouldn't have deserved a win against a better Blackpool side.

Only gripe about the officials is the ref's baffling decisions on throw-ins. Other than that, absolutely fine game.

It seems like a mixture. Berg can't be an amazing manager but it's like... I don't know it doesn't seem like he's been given much control. The tricky thing is, if he leaves now or is fired for whatever reason, then who's going to want that job? Even if it's not Venkys fault that the team isn't performing now (which I doubt) then it's still going to look like they don't know what the fuck they're doing.

It's hard to say, but I bet Singh is trying to worm his way in yeah. He's the sort that loves the sound of his own voice. That's why he wanted an inexperienced manager, so he could control him. The side isn't as good as probably most people think, there's some gaping holes and some past it players on sh*t loads of money but yeah, you're right in the sense that there's no way we should be anywhere near 17th.

I remember when we played you and we were 5th and you were 6th (or maybe the other way round). That was only last month - but things are looking a lot different now! We're also mis-using Rhodes, btw. He's lethal but spends most of his time chasing down backpasses to the keeper and our aimless long balls. He gets barely any service at all.

I don't think Berg's up to much, no. His record in Norway was only average overall, iirc (correct me if I'm wrong Jonas). You're correct though - even if he leaves, then what? Shebby appoints another nobody that he can have an influence on?

Did Brighton not play today btw?

Nope. Our game against Millwall was pushed forward for some reason. I guess there were too many Boxing Day games in London or something. Either way, we have a game in hand which could put us into the top 6.

You're correct.

Sorry for the double post, Berg lasted only fifty seven days before getting sacked. BR, who do you think will replace him?

Berg and O'Driscoll gone.

Both pretty unfair to be honest. I know Berg was doing shit, but he was only in charge for 57 days.

The Forest one is most baffling though. I'm guessing Keane and Hughes will be the next managers of Forest and Blackburn respectively.

Blackburn Priceless.

I forsee a Kean return somehow, considering how long Venky's persisted with him.

Stranger things have happened...

Aye the Forest one is quite baffling. They may have been underperforming slightly given their status as promotion favourites but they're one point off the play offs. Seems incredibly harsh, not least if they want Roy Keane given his time as Ipswich gaffer.

The Berg one is only surprising given the length of time, as under him Blackburn seem to have been falling off a cliff. But surely you'd give someone more faith than booting them out after just 57 days.

Although he did bring Sunderland from the bottom of the Championship to the Premier League in his first season. He's not the worst choice and if he's given choice he might do well. Absolutely baffling that they got rid of O'Driscoll though, I think that's bang out of order.

Berg was only manager for 10 matches. Crazy.
Deleted Account #151676
Not really, For Blackburn it's imperative they return at the first time of asking else risk losing all their best players, Fair play to the board who realized their mistake, Berg wasn't the man to do that and quickly got rid of him before they slipped out of the promotion picture entirely.
