No mention of Giggs' pass? Hate United but that was such an awesome pass.

The pass, the first touch, the finish. Tremendous.

Giggs' pass was definitely sublime, a beautiful pass, a beautiful touch and finish from RVP.

EDIT: Basically what jumberto said a minute before me.

The pass was of the highest quality but the touch, to control it and take it way from the defender was world class, signing of the season is gonna be between RVP and Michu

I think the fact that Michu cost one tenth of RVP kind of ends the discussion.

Yeah that's how i would vote but if one or the other drops off for the rest of the season then its not such a clear cut decision

Yeah i agree NUFC have way too much quality in the best 11 to go down if Cabaye didn't get injured you'd be comfortably in the top half

We have a great first 11 but our back-up options are not in the same league, and we've been relying on them nearly all season long.

I don't know if it's just the extraordinary pessimism that I am capable of but it's a worrying situation. Obviously it didn't help that in the first part of the season we played a hoofball system that ignored Cabaye completely, but without him we seem to be going to pot.

With any luck this should be the nadir and things can only get better from now. But we need players to come in as well as players to recover from injury (and not try to rush them back in like we did with Ben Arfa) and I'm not quite so sure Ashley will be as interested in bolstering the ranks. But who knows - a win at Norwich would certainly be a good start and it doesn't feel like an impossible feat if Colo, Cabaye and Cisse return as is rumoured.

Not if RVP is a decisive factor in winning trophies.

Oh come on.

At the price he was even if he doesn't score another goal Michu was a stupidly good signing. RVP has been excellent, but buying a good player for good money doesn't really strike as a particularly enlightened transfer policy.

I'm not saying RVP was a better signing than Michu, but I'm just saying it's not an open and shut case until the end of the season.

Anyone else but Van Persie and that would have never been a goal. Fair play for the awesome pass, but that touch and finish was sublime.

Refs handing out bookings for a laugh these days. Neither of Ameobi's 'fouls' were really yellow card worthy.

But that controversy isn't really important in the context of the game. We deserved to lose, played poorly and will forget about it, as we do every year we go out early to a lower division side. We'll go out of Europe after the next round and focus solely on maintaining Premier League status.

Seen Obertan getting slated. Didn't play great but has been in good form before today. Doesn't help when he had a shower of shite alongside him. Sammy Ameobi is useless. Just puts his head down and dribbles, then falls over.

Onto Norwich.

Southampton, who lost 5-1 to Chelsea on Saturday, are the only Premier League side not still in the competition, although Swansea host Arsenal at 13:30 GMT on Sunday.

If you're going to state meaningless facts, you'd think the least you could do is get them right. You could also say "there are only 6 Premier League teams in the next round" but you wouldn't because that's stupid. I don't know why that annoyed me.

They've just added 'and Newcastle' to the paragraph, however it still says 'side' and not 'sides'.

But yeah it's meaningless anyway.

Cannot wait for this fourth road draw- first time we've ever got there. Would love United or City away or any Premier League side to be honest.
