Sounds like a certain slaphead manager we had at Rovers recently.

But yeah, that doesn't sound too promising for you guys. At least it hasn't been properly confirmed yet, still hope.....

Yeah I'm hoping it's all a big misunderstanding or false source but the BBC and SSN were reporting it.

Edit: Rumour is he's at the game today and another local paper reporting that he'll be in charge until the end of the season and pending favourable results (I'm guessing keeping us up) it'll be extended.

Jeremy Helan, who got booked twice against us for Sheffield Wednesday the other week and didn't get sent off, is serving his ban today despite being cup-tied as he played for Shrewsbury in the Cup earlier this season. He played on New Year's Day as the appeal against Antonio's booking (which was transferred to him) hadn't been heard. He's available for their next League game. I can't be the only one shaking my head at how unfair that seems.

Other bizarre stuff, who's seen the Watford sub-loaning going on? How's that allowed?

How does Nick Chadwick get away with impersonating a footballer?

Down 1-0, down to ten men, 2 points away from down full stop.

Poor Portsmouth

(Not that Walsall beat them haha, just the last few years have been unbelievably bad - probably gonna be League 2 next season for them, shocking).

Can't feel sympathetic for the club. They're a complete rotten mess and they have been since they first went up. They spent their whole time in the Prem leaving outside their means and it was always going to be a mater of when it caught up to them. They overspent on average players and were spending money they didn't have. I feel sorry for their fans but that's about it.

Aye, was the fans I was on about really. Can't feel sorry for those who have gotten them into this mess, and there have been plenty of those over the years.

That's both the two bald headed Norwegians gone then. Was inevitable after today's FA Cup loss to Luton, I guess.

I was hoping he'd survive one more match - we play them on Friday night. A bit less confident now.

Him and Berg were disastrous appointments. Can't see any bald headed Norwegians, like you said, getting a look in anywhere soon!

It's not that they will be a complete different side in just a week now that he's gone though. They're shite.

Had higher hopes for Solbakken than Berg (don't really rate him at all as a manager, as I've pointed out several times earlier), but think the job just proved to be too tough for Solbakken. He took over a relegated Premier League side, they lost couple of key players such as Fletcher, Jarvis over the summer and he had no experience whatsoever with the football climate of the Championship - an extremely challenging league, especially for a foreign manager. Anyway, don't think you'll see either of them manage in England ever again, unless something out of the ordinary would happen.

Also, not so sure about Solbakken's manager abilities any longer. Sacked by Köln in 2012 and now by Wolves six days into the new year. Enjoyed a good spell at FC København, but looking back they were very patient with him and he also had Scandinavia's biggest budget(s) at his disposal.

Keith Hill is now odds-on favourite to get the Plymouth Argyle job. What's he like? I remember the Barnsley fan(s?) on here were a bit glad he left..

He should do well in that division. He worked well on a small budget at Rochdale in League One/Two, but he didn't seem up to Championship standard. He constantly compared how little money we had compared to other clubs, and came out with remarks like "we're shopping at Aldi where as other clubs are shopping at Selfridges".

On a similar note, it looks like we're getting closer to appointing Sean O'Driscoll after Wolves approached Doncaster about Dean Saunders.

Unfortunately then we're getting John Sheridan, will be unveiled later today. O'Driscoll's a good shout, would do well I reckon.

Wasn't Dean Saunders in charge of that faintly comical 'experiment' Doncaster did when they let agent Willie McKay bring in his stooges?

It'd be unlikely for him to try it again at Wolves though... right?

Blackburn have made an approach for Michael Appleton, who has only been in charge at Blackpool since early November

Surely Appleton would turn them down? He's got a better chairman at Blackpool, even if Blackburn are a bigger club.

It's a strange one. Surely Appleton has given some indication that he'd come here, otherwise even our lot wouldn't consider making an approach (then making it public) for someone who's only been at his current club two months.

More should come out tomorrow.

If he does come, then I wouldn't know what to think. It's extremely difficult to judge him on his time at Portsmouth, then he's been steady enough, if unspectacular, at Blackpool so far. Another bald manager though.......

If he did come it'd be a show of his loyalty. Leaving a club after two months.

What the fuck has Appleton actually ever done as a manager? He's a loser to abandon Blackpool so soon. Money talks I guess.

Anyway, we've finally signed goal machine Ross Hannah from Bradford. Going up.

Might have a clause in his contract or something? Blackpool can sack him within a time period with no compensation/Appleton is free to leave?

Was skeptical enough about the Appleton appointment before the names of Jerome Anderson, SEM and Kentaro started to rear their ugly heads once again. Makes a bit more sense now I guess. F*ck the lot of them.
