Jack Payne to Blackburn. Well beneath him - should be somewhere mid-table a division above, but hey ho.

Was hoping to come back and read some Bury rage...but I guess they are just focusing on next season already

A disappointing defeat today. Bowyer decided to mess around with the team, probably as we play again on Monday, and it cost us. Our games against Doncaster I always remember as being goal fests but they got a lucky deflection on their first and then punished us with a rehearsed free kick. We lacked any bite up front.

Wow, two big wins in a row. 5-0 thrashing of Bradford at the weekend (thanks Larry, don't think you'll be long there!) and then 3-0 against Northampton tonight. Feel we're safe now. So fair play to Bowyer because managing at this club is not easy - even moreso with all the off the field issues! Hopefully they will be resolved to coincide with the end of the season and we can see how good a manager he really can be.

In other news, just seen that Mick McCarthy has ragequit Ipswich four games early!

I still don't know what Ipswich fans were expecting Mick to do. He's got almost no money to spend with a squad made up of free transfers and loans and still manages to keep them safe every season. If the fans want to moan, do it to the owner for not spending anything on the squad, not chanting "You don't know what you're doing" when subbing a knackered 17 year old kid on his debut. Could easily go down if they appoint the wrong guy next season.

Been watching a lot of Championship football again this season and the goal Neves scored last night is as good as any volley I've probably ever seen in any competition.

Joey Barton to become new Fleetwood manager

Will be interesting to see how this turns out, despite being a bit of a knob he's clearly a decent player on his day.

Fleetwood seem to be eating through managers at the moment.

In other news, congratulations to Accrington Stanley on being promoted! First time in their history that that'll play in the third tier.

And did us a favour in the process, Peterborough basically out of the running for a playoff place now.

Yep, wouldn't be surprised if a team like Plymouth go up via the playoffs, if you can get in there. Shrewsbury are out of form, Rotherham have been hit and miss, it's anyone's game.

After being where we were at November/December time I'm honestly delighted with this season no matter what happens now but, watching this team this second half of the season, I genuinely fancy us. I wasn't this confidence playing teams last season when we went up in second, on our day I think we can beat anyone in this league.

Championship final day seemed like a very exciting free-for-all. Fuck knows what it must've felt like for one of those with a team in the eye of the storm.

Also when I was idly wondering about promotion favourites, I don't think a Cardiff City team mainly composed of freebies and discards was a first choice up there. But credit for Warnock. He has a legion of detractors, but he is excellent at what he does.

If you want a team promoting then Neil Warnock is your man.

Oh yeah absolutely, he's very good at getting cast off lower league players playing above themselves to get up but they aren't good enough in the Prem.

So Villa are rumoured to be looking at replacing Steve Bruce with Thierry Henry as manager.

Seems a risky choice! You'd think Steve Bruce would give them the best chance of going up, but I guess Henry raises the profile of the club a bit and players may well come in just to play for him.

For those who still listen to radio, BBC radio 5 Live are doing a 2 hour EFL preview show tonight at 7:30pm. I imagine it will mainly be Championship based like these things usually are, but it will help fill the small gap remaining between World Cup ending and season starting on Friday!

A bore draw away for us against Wycombe, our non league signings still introducing themselves to each other.

Bowyer walks. and we are the first team to lose our manager this season.

Don't blame him with having enough of the club and its owners. One of the better managers we have had in a while, I am sure he will be in a job by Christmas if not Halloween!

Meanwhile our shit show continues....

Can remember Gary Bowyer playing for Forest in the 90's. Has absolutely nothing to do with what you just said but did make me feel old for a minute.

From the outside looking in I'm quite surprised! Granted you would know better than anyone on here all the ins and outs of the shit show at Blackpool but I hadn't seen much in the national media for ages about it so I assumed it was all settling down a bit.

It's never gotten the media coverage it merits. If it's not over in a week then they lose interest. The Oyston's own Valeri twenty five million pounds sterling and are dragging out paying him, largely because they don't seem to have the money. Owen Oyston seems to be trying to bring in another scum bag to work with so that Valeri doesn't get the club but it has all gone a bit quiet.

Meanwhile, the club is being looked after even less and so Bowyer was paying to rent a training facility in Preston for the team to train at! I think he finally got fed up of losing players, not being able to replace them and being out of pocket! Rumours are he did get reimbursed before leaving but other staff members still have expenses outstanding...

The whole club is a farce still but hopefully the reign on the Oystons is now in its death throes.

Not too bothered who gets the job atm.

Fuck sake, having to pay for the training pitch out of his own pocket? That's disgraceful! I know Peter Reid paid our heating bill and some players' mortgages once or twice but we were in administration and didn't have an owner; that's disgusting. I can't blame him for leaving. Who's favourite for the job?

Well our inexplicable, customary slow start to a season begins once again. Can't blame the influx of numerous players because Peterborough brought in as many, if not more players as us and seem to be flying.

Seeing as how our manager notes Alex Ferguson as one of his mentors (his dad and Fergie are mates from Fergie's stint managing in Scotland IIRC) I can only assume we'll do what Man Utd did time and time again; start the season slow and then hammer everyone to win the league in March.

Well, Owen Oyston is saying his account he uses to pay for things at Blackpool has been frozen due to the court case so he can't pay for anything. So what if he has other means to pay for stuff, it is a handy excuse not to put any more money into the club that he will hopefully lose soon. Favourite to come in? There has been an ever changing list. Mostly full of ex-players who know the shit state of the club, like Gary Taylor-Fletcher and Richie Wellens to the more desperate managers of the ilk of Owen Coyle. There is a general indifference from the fans, we don't really care who is manager until the family is out.

Our caretaker manager really messed up today though. We had four centre backs on the pitch, two were playing as full backs ala Tony Pulis and the two full backs we had on the pitch were playing other positions 0 like defensive midfield. We were lucky to escape with a point. For some reason our best striker was on the bench and we played Fonz up front even though he has shown he is better out wide over the past couple of seasons.

Bah.

We've made a decent start back to life in the Championship, undefeated with two wins and three draws. The fixture list has been relatively kind although we did beat Brentford at the weekend who seem pretty well-fancied to have a good season.
