Frequently Asked Questions
If you're not a premium member, it is recommended that you download the base megapack via torrent by going to our cut-out megapack download page. After which, you should then download all the update packs released to date and apply them chronologically.
If you're a premium member, just download the most recent complete pack.
If you already have a version of our Cut-Out Faces Megapack installed, then click "Download Latest Changes" and you'll be presented with a list of all the updates we've released since you've last downloaded a file. Simply download any you might have missed, applying the oldest first and continuing to apply update packs in the chronological order in which they were released.
Contrary to previous versions of the game, there is no need to change any settings in the preferences in FM26.
If done correctly, you should be asked if you want to overwrite files – accept. You should have one folder for faces and another folder for iconfaces, and no sub-folder whatsoever in them.
These steps are to be repeated for every update pack downloaded, and they are to be installed chronologically.
Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. It might be for FM24, but the steps are exactly the same.
Otherwise, follow the steps in this comment and post the results so that we can assist you.
As a result, the iconfaces are no longer available for download because they're not needed. You should also delete the iconfaces folder manually from your system too 👍
It is recommended that the user data location is not placed within the Steam installation folder as this may cause issues.
Torrent files need a torrent client to be downloaded. I personally use µTorrent but other common clients are BitTorrent, Vuze and Deluge. For those using torrents for the first time, here is a general walk-through on how to download torrents and a specific guide for µTorrent.
Be aware that it will take a substantial amount of time to download the file due to its sheer size and that other people depend on you hosting the file to get it so please leave your torrent client on after you have fully downloaded it. The etiquette is generally accepted to be to upload as much as you download, although this might not always be possible. The older the torrent file, the less likely it is that there will still be users seeding it.
Secondly, for files as large as this, the calculation of the extraction time will be wildly incorrect at the start. After a while, it'll show a more realistic timeframe, which shouldn't be more than an hour or two if you have a good setup and few programs running at the same time.
Try using Google Chrome in incognito mode (or the equivalent mode for other browsers) and you should be able to resume the download from the point it was interrupted, if that happens.
Alternatively, you can download fmXML and generate a config yourself. There's a video on YouTube on how to use it but it's really easy and the instructions are quite straight-forward.
To get them to show, you should individually download any previously available cut-out faces from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

Yes we meet again
Its a brand new i7 lap top so it cant be that. I used to have WinRAR but I was unable to find it again. Been extracting the metallic logos file for 6 hours now and I think I am only about 25% there. I guess its no big deal but didn't expect it to take this long. I have the bigger megapack to do after this too
weeniehutjr
Personally I'd recommend 7zip, you could try using that for the next pack?
Womaz
I will try anything to speed it up. Problem I have is I am not that tech savy and I guess I am afraid to mess things up. I actually found the WinRAR tool, but the download says it is just a trial.
Will a better tool speed up the extraction? I thought this would primarily be down to laptop and broadband speed.
mons
Are you extracting it from and to your laptop's hard drive? It'll be much slower if you are extracting it to a pendrive or external harddisk...
Womaz
Yes I am. Downloaded the file via this site, then extracting it to my desktop. I did the stadium pack too and this downloaded as a Zip file. That took about 20 mins to extract.
The other two are the megapack and the metallic logos pack. They have downloaded as an archive file? and have the RARopener icon next to it. Problem is I am hopeless at all of this
mons
It's really just a case of opening them, you can't go wrong there. Best thing to do is probably to try and extract any packs you have, separately. You mentioned you were also extracting the metallic logopack. Probably best to try and do them one at a time
Just leave them overnight if they're taking that long, hopefully it'll be done by then...
Womaz
Yes I am doing them one at a time. I downloaded them all at same time, but extracting them one at a time
mons
Ah, I see. With accessing your system, I have no way of telling what (if anything!) is wrong. You seem to be following all the steps, but it certainly shouldn't take that long, especially on a brand new system
Womaz
I guess there is no hurry. One quick question do all of the packs just go into the Graphics folder once extracted. ?
mons
Just make sure your preferences are the same as in the opening post once in place
Womaz
It is working as I have had a look at the file it is extracting to, bur this is a new Intel i7 8th gen lap top surely it cant take this long?
Not sure how to progress other than try and download the other pack with a different unzipper tool maybe?
mons
Let's talk via PM
Womaz
Thanks I may do that but I have downloaded WinRAR and it is doing the larger megapack and its estimated to take 6 minutes
I will let you know how I progress.
mons
Just sent you a PM without having read this. Sentiment still holds anyway
I did tell you to use Winrar a while back, and I thought that's what you were using by now. Hopefully it'll be over quickly then

I'm finding it hard to understand how the file(s) you've downloaded don't include a config file, as every single file available contains it.
How many faces do you have in your megapack folder? If you have downloaded the latest version, you should have over 205,000. If not, I suggest that you download the pack again. If the amount is thereabouts, follow the instructions in this thread to create a new config file. Once you do so and load the game, make sure your preferences are set in this manner:
Hope this helps...
calvyn
Is there anything else I could do to make it work?
mons
Can I have a screenshot of the location in your laptop where you placed the graphics please? Maybe it's an installation path issue, which should be reasonably easy to solve
And can you please explain what you mean by "version from Workshop (ios '18)"? I'm not clear what you mean here.
calvyn
The location is C:\Users\[my personal name]\Documents\Sports Interactive\Football Manager 2018\graphics\facepack
By the Workshop version I mean this modpack is working without a problem but I just personally don't like it.
mons
The path looks fine. However, there may be issues with trying to run two facepacks concurrently. Try deleting that pack from your graphic folder, then changing the preferences to look like they do in the opening post.
If that still doesn't work, take a screenshot in-game of Harry Kane and post it here. Also, how many faces do you have in your megapack folder?

I downloaded the megapack by subscribing to you. When i unzip using winrar, it scans through maybe 50% of files then this error message pops up...please help.

Looks to me like the file did not download fully, perhaps the download got interrupted at some point. Make sure the total file size of the file you download is the same as that shown on the page you downloaded the file from
Once it is fully downloaded, I would suggest using Winrar to extract it.
