But I think that, with a little bit more attention, you could include a little bit more hair details in future cuts What program and what technique are you using for cutting?

Using lasso tool is extremely limiting and tends not to produce the best results.

I personally prefer using Vertus Fluid Mask (quick YouTube video link here). With straight-forward sources such as this one, it produces good cuts with plenty of hair detail without taking a lot of time

Swedie also produced a brief tutorial with the Refine Edge technique, which is an equally valid method of getting a good cut

In the time it took me to post this, I've made a quick cut using Vertus; attached
