Sky Italia are saying that the Balotelli - Milan deal is all done and just needs to be announced.

A fee of ~£17m + addons according to Gazzeta.

The Coutinho deal is pretty much confirmed now.Waste of money (again) imo.

Hmm... Brendan Rodgers keep signing young talents while looking for more experience in his side. The signing of Coutinho being yet another example. Isolated not a bad signing I think, but not the right one for them at the moment.

I hope not. You'd actually have a proper central-midfield.

Palermo interested in Kyle Lafferty

Is Coutinho not a similar player to Sahin or am I getting him confused with someone else? Remember I always used to have him and some other young midfielder but cannot remember whether it was him or the other one.

No option to buy though. He's really struggled to pin down a place at Milan, a victim of his versitility I suppose, so hopefully he'll get a decent run of games at Fulham.

Liverpool fans have blindly defended the signings of Downing, Henderson and Borini, yet when they actually buy a good young player with a tonne of potential they start complaining?

At a much better price than each of those three as well. Why did Inter let him go at such price? Wasn't he supposed to be the future of Inter?

He's a bit like Sneijder in that he does not fit into the system that Stramaccioni employs and Inter need the money so they can reinvest it in players that do. Paulinho from Corinthians is apparently their big transfer target.

David Moyes:
I read something about him replacing Fellaini and that's the biggest load of tosh I have heard. That's nonsense, whoever wrote or said that. They are different types of players. No, that's not the reason for bringing him, that's for sure.

Arsenal and Newcastle have missed out on the signing of French starlet Florian Thauvin after he opted to join Lille.

Both Premier League clubs were actively chasing the highly-rated 20-year-old Bastia midfielder, but he has decided to stay in France.

He has agreed a four-and-a-half-year deal with Lille, but will remain on loan at Bastia for the rest of the season.

"I am very pleased to join Lille," he told Lille's website.

"Lille offered me a beautiful sporting project, and I immediately liked it and with the support of my advisors we agreed straight away."

Birmingham goalkeeper Jack Butland has turned down the chance of talks with Chelsea after the Stamford Bridge club had a £3.5m bid accepted. Butland wants to play regular football, according to his agent Gary Mellor.

Besides, Chelsea have Courtois for the future unless Barca swoop in

I heard this morning he rejected them because he wants somewhere where he is playing all the time?

Yeah, saw that after posting. Sorry all.

In other news: Paul Robinson to West Ham?

I'd take it.

Smart choice by the lad in my opinion.

Would be nothing worse for him at this stage than to go and sit on the bench for a few years.
