Mbiwa.

I rate Taylor but he's too injury prone - he's prone to a ridiculous error at times too.

I like Mbiwa, but I don't think you can say he's better than Mertesacker when he's only played two Premier League games. He might well be a better player but I'd say it's quite premature to make that claim.

He's saved us 3 points at Villa already.

I watched him a few times on the Ligue One highlight thing on ESPN and he looks awesome, I've wanted him for ages.

You should go sign Howedes from whoever he plays for in Germany - he's tremendous whenever I watch him.

Even so, that's Ligue 1. Chamakh looked good in Ligue 1.

Yeah, I like the look of Howedes. Doubt we'll go in for him or anyone of his quality though.

He really didn't look that good. His goal return was always mediocre.

That Greek chap, Papadapapopoulos looks like a player as well. Only 20, too.

Edit: Kyriakos Papadopoulos to spell it properly.

I know, but playing well in Ligue 1 doesn't always translate to playing well in the Premier League.

Mertesacker is shit, not good enough for us at all in my opinion. Too slow and immobile for the premiership. His early season performances weren't even that good, only Man City away springs to mind where I thought he had a noticeably good game.

He gets caught out of position a lot, keeps ruining the offside trap when the rest of the defence pushes up. Strikers from every team can get past him so easy as well.

Also, he's shit at set pieces (attacking and defending) which he really shouldn't be due to his height, don't think I've ever see him get his head on the ball despite the fact we aim every corner to him at the near post.

I can't believe you got him for £6.7m. I can't decide which was more of a bargain: Cabaye, Sissoko or Yanga-Mbiwa?

Chamakh wasn't even good in Ligue 1

In his best season he scored 13 in 34 league games. He was average there, he's below-average here.

Utd's rumoured to go for him, so Wenger will also, only to pull out and claim "we've never gone for him".

I've had enough. Over the past two seasons I've firmly believed Wenger is the man to lead us forward, but given the nature of our performances this season and fragile mentality we have, we're clearly in desperate need of a change. I respect Wenger's philosophy regarding nuturing young talent, but it simply doesn't work in the modern era and we need someone who's willing to come in and shake things up. This entire campaign has been a huge embarrassment and I dread to think what Bayern are going to do to us midweek.

I've always considered myself pro-Wenger, but that's rubbish. I know the players aren't performing, but who brought them in? Why aren't they able to play like Premier League footballers half the time? Why don't they seem motivated enough.

Wenger's brought some real class into the club, but for every Cazorla there's a Gervinho, a Santos and a Chamakh. Too much deadwood in our squad due to panic buying and awful handling of transfers. Our season was doomed the moment we sanctioned the van Persie transfer for "footballing reasons".

I've never been so embarrassed to be an Arsenal fan. I just want the season to end and changes to be made.

I believe a lot of our defensive problems are down to him, plus he seem's to make a goal costing mistake every other match.

There's so much wrong with Arsenal at the moment. We need a significant change, and a few tweaks here and there aren't enough to get us out of this rut. If we're not careful we'll see our few good players leaving and we'll slip down to mid-table mediocrity like Liverpool have.

I think the only way we'll ever make any changes is if we have a season like this current one but without a European finish. So just gonna have to grin and bare it for the time being sadly.

This squad needs £50m+ worth of investment, at the very minimum. There are so many holes in our squad it's unreal. My greatest fear, however, is that with Kroenke in charge we'll never see the money spent that we need. However, it appears that the money is there to spend, but Wenger is just too stubborn to break from his philosophy and spend. He needs to go.

You need a keeper, a whole new defence, a defensive midfielder and a striker.

Sad time, I like Arsenal.

Will paste what I said in the FA Cup thread:

Awful performance, we are a joke of a team these days.

What's even more embarassing is the mentality of the club, the other day we ran a poll on the website asking whether fans preferred a top 4 finish or a trophy.

The two aren't mutually exclusive and the fact that 4th place is now a target for the club shows how far we have fallen, small time club these days.

It's like the board don't understand that the worse we become, the income decreases in the long run. Less overseas supporters, commercial revenue falls etc. Not difficult to work out.

It's gotten to the point where we aren't 1-2 players away from returning to past glories, as we were 4-5 years ago, but there's a huge problem at the club that is only getting worse and there needs to be fundamental changes and a huge shake-up in order to rectify. It's depressing to see sides like Newcastle, who when stuck near the bottom of the table and have a famously tight owner, go out and buy a handful of good players to help turn their season around. We remain static. It's even more depressing to see player after player who we're interested in (supposedly) go to rival clubs. There's little ambition and it's absolutely criminal when you consider that the club is valued at over $1bn and we reach the Champions League group stages every fucking season.

If we're going to become genuine title contenders again, I can't see it happening under Wenger's reign. We've been slowly regressing as a club over the past few years and without fresh blood coming in willing to shake everything up, it'll only get worse. Wenger needs to go, as do around 7-8 "first team" players, and there needs to be a huge mentality shift. I don't hold much hope at this point, it must be said.
