Missed the first round, whoops.
Second round starts tonight, with such big fixtures as Maldon & Tiptree v Newport County. 0-0 at half time, one for the love of the cup more than anything there!
Hoping we manage to beat Maidstone United in our game on Sunday, though we played so poorly against Scunthorpe in the EFL trophy midweek I wouldn't be surprised if we lost!

We should have gotten past Reading at the weekend, they put out a much changed side and we had a chance to win it but Gnanduillet got cocky with the penalty and hit the bar. Cardiff or Carlisle is hardly mouth watering but it would be nice to put a cup run together!

Thoughts, @NickHastie ?

It was a boring game! Charlie got a great reception. It makes Gnandos penalty from the first leg even more infuriating. I was sat behind the dugout though and Grayson just appears utterly clueless! He didnt communicate with the players and he literally only shouted "tight! tight! tight!" at one point and that was it. I wasnt a fan of his appointment but I wanted him to win me over. He hasnt.
However, it means that assuming Watford win on Thursday that I will be in hospitality on Saturday as I have tickets for the Tranmere game and get to meet Scott Taylor so at least I have that to look forward to.

Still, given we've got very lucky in some recent PL games, we were probably due such a slap in the face.

I was there and we were awful, probably the worst display this season, although there are a lot of games we have been this bad.
Oxford were well organised and we NEVER looked like scoring to be honest. They nearly sneaked it at the end too.

FA Cup semi final against Chelsea, a team we've beaten quite a bit lately and we're in pretty good form.
Looks at our bench.... Greenwood, Martial and Pogba all there

He's not right at all.
You could say the last 18-24 months, but definitely without doubt the last 12 months he's been off.
Henderson will come back from Sheffield United next year no doubt and De Gea will remain number one, but as soon as he makes an error he'll be dropped.

De Gea still makes plenty of difficult saves, but lets in easy attempts far too often. When the shot faced won't require a powerful dive, but rather a collapsing save and holding the ball, his defenders will occationally witness the shot go "through him" (bobble under his body/bounce off his grasp) and into the net. It's like De Gea's not concentrating well enough on the easy-looking shots, which is very odd for a keeper of his class. Surely after one or two slip-ups you'd decide to mentally prepare yourself to be super sharp in those kinds of situations to correct the trend. We all know the ability is there. It's basic mental preparation for pro athletes (and us amateurs as well) to fine-tune the way you anticipate certain situations and react to them.
Remember when De Gea was shaky dealing with crosses at the beginning of his Man United career? Turned out he needed either contact lenses or eye surgery (they went with the latter) to correct a case of short-sightedness or astigmatism. When he came back after the surgery, he was as assured as they come. But now, I really don't know what is going on this time.
