Cheers lads.
Hopefully we'll bounce back at the first attempt. To be honest I'd be happy with promotion, whether that's as champions, runners up or through the playoffs, either way back in the Championship next season, that's all I want. It'll be tough to win the league so if we fall short hopefully the owner won't be hating!!

So what's been the issue? Well once again we've struggled to score goals when we're dominating games, well early in the season anyway, we've changed tactics recently and it seems to have worked. However the first 15 games were absolutely atrocious, we've clearly had a good defence, one of the best in the league, yet at the other end we've misfired and it has hurt us in our bid for promotion. We really should have an extra 14 points on the board at this stage, mostly draws at home that should have been victories, it's been extremely frustrating at times and it's very surprising that the board actually decided to offer me a one year extension to my contract.
Currently we're on a run of 10 games unbeaten in the league and 14 in all competitions which has been instrumental in us keeping pace with the teams competing for a spot in the playoffs. We're also still in the FA Cup (third round home tie against Coventry City) and Johnstone's Paint Trophy (semi final away against Luton Town).

Yeah we could still make it but our form has been woeful man.
Here is our last 10 results in League One, not pleasant reading.

Balls they do mate. The board HAVE to sack him. Yourself and I would have walked the league w/ that squad.

Good luck for the new season!

Hopefully they'll do just that and hopefully next season won't be a complete cluster fuck!!
You're dead to me now man...
Cheers mate, glad you're enjoying the story and all the ups and downs that have happened!!

The last signing of the summer was Jan Fahrmann who could become a good Premier League striker in future so fingers crossed he flourishes at the club over the next few seasons.

We're aiming for a mid table finish this season so I think we'll be able to achieve that.

We've played good football and scored more goals this season but we've always been unable to hold onto leads or we've given teams a head start and gone 2-0 down or something silly. I honestly have no idea what to do and I've tried pretty much everything I can think of doing. I've rested players, I've rotated, changed tactics, stuck with the same tactic, changed match preparation and on and on it goes.
Unfortunately our home form just isn't good enough, we struggle in front of our own crowd and it's safe to say the move to a new stadium hasn't been a positive one just yet, we've actually got one of the worst home records in League One, something we'll need to change if we're ever to challenge for promotion again.
K3V0
In the end though we finished comfortably in mid table and I've got that feeling of what could have been had our home form been better because looking at the playoff places we didn't finish to far behind. So next season I'm not sure whether challenging for promotion or another mid table finish will be the goal, we're in a bit of a financial mess by the looks of things so I'm not sure if I'll be able to add real quality to the squad during the summer.

The main goal I had in mind during the summer was to get rid of inconsistent players earning big salaries, so goodbye Tom Thorpe and Felipe Alfonso. The others were let go because the transfer fees offered were decent enough and we're in need of money as the board hasn't exactly furthered our commercial income all that much despite a new stadium and our recent rise as a club.
So the goal of reaching the League One playoffs this season has been set as a minimum by the board. Personally that may be beyond us if we get a bad injury run or if we're again inconsistent at home. However if we fix our home form then we will challenge for the League One title in all honesty. So hopefully the 2019-2020 season will be a memorable one for AFC Wimbledon because I don't know how much more of League One I can take.

Yeah we did. I think when managing lower league teams you just have to accept that when you have a good player and can't win promotions you'll eventually have to sell them after a season or two. Like I think if we're still a League One side next season I'll need to sell Robbie Brady and he could fetch possibly £4 million.

We're out of the Capital One Cup now...

The turning point had to be an injury to Josip Bezer. At the time I thought well that's a huge blow and we're going to struggle now, however I was wrong and it was a blessing in disguise as Marcus Perry, who is on loan from Southampton, came into the side and has gone on to score 7 in just 9 appearances whilst striking up a fantastic partnership with Billy Sharp, the veteran striker netting 6 in 10 in League One.
Unfortunately Perry picked up an injury that will keep him sidelined for almost 2 months in our last game against Swindon Town so hopefully that doesn't ruin the good form we've been exhibiting lately. In terms of injuries the only other player out at the moment is Bezer who is nursing a shoulder injury he picked up the very first day back in training after his first injury which was a 4 week layoff due to a back strain.

I thought they looked good for League One level and free transfers as well.
Hopefully we can maintain our challenge for automatic promotion for the entire season.

Yeah hopefully he'll chip in with a few goals and a few assists.
