27 goals in 5 pre-season matches is impressive. Some decent signings there again.

The team looks ready for the Siena games - I don't think they can be a serious obstacle on your way to the group stage. Hope the group draw is better than last year though.

We had a good pre season but the last two teams we played were really shit.

Only played them so we could boost confidence, basically score a lot of goals.

I think over two legs we'll get the job done against them. First leg is crucial as always, if we get a good result at home the return leg will take care of itself, we tend to perform in the big games most of the time.

So in what was a hugely important game against Dinamo Tibilsi we came from behind to comfortably win 4-1. Next up we'll face Lyon at home before a tough game against Sporting Lisbon away and it looks likely that we'll need to pick up at least four points from those two games to advance from Group H.

A professional job against Sienna and the group didn't look that bad, although it has become really tricky after the loss against Sporting. You will need a result in Lisbon to qualify.

Good run on the League Cup: I don't think that Wycombe will surprise us, so we are waiting your opponent in the semi-final.

If we beat Lyon and get a draw against Sporting in Lisbon we'll qualify on the basis of a better head to head with Lyon.

So our hopes of advancing from Group H seem extremely slim now after a 3-2 defeat at St. James Park against Lyon. It's disappointing to think that our home form has let us down in the competition and it's going to take a real miracle for us to turn things around in Lisbon. We'll give it a go and if it's meant to be it's meant to be but I'm thinking it's going to prove a mountain to big.

EDIT: I've checked on the head to head rules and to advance we'll need to win by two goals on the night in Lisbon, that's doable if we sort out our woeful fucking defending.

Doable, but extremely difficult now. Let's see how this plays out - you always have the "pillow" of Europa League, although it will be a bit disappointing to exit the Champions League so early after last year's run to the semi-finals.

I guess that's the beauty of football though, you can never rest on what you've done in the past and you've always got to keep improving. I think we can do it in Lisbon if we score early, in saying that sometimes we've right nightmares from the beginning of games and if that happens we'll be playing Europa League football next year instead of Champions League.

I don't really know what to say right now or how to feel. We should have won this game by more and we should have booked our place in the next round of the Champions League. This is seriously a hard and bitter blow to swallow because we deserved more than this, the Europa League won't be of any consolation really.

Time for a little update on former AFC Wimbledon winger Kevan Grundy. You all remember him yeah? He tore the arses out of many a League Two and League One side back in the day before leaving for SPL giants Celtic. So here is a little update on what's happened in his career, safe to say I gave him his big break!!!

So two in and two out in January, so far anyway, with a promising goalkeeper replacing the outgoing Tim Krul and a world class left back who will replace Ryan Bertrand who at the moment looks likely to be let go during the summer on a free transfer unless he's willing to take a pay cut, I mean lets face it a decent Premier League player at 35 years of age doesn't warrant 76,000 a week. The other outgoing chap is Jamaal Lascelles who was on about 50,000 and isn't going to see regular first team action.

Looking strong in the compition, and dropped out of champions league due to bad home form. Good cup runs until the Lincoln draw. So a bit of a mixed emotions season, but if you can keep up with ManU, you might challange for the title.

In the end we got the job done so it didn't matter. Still a bit pissed about the Champions League exit but I guess the silver lining is now we can have a crack at the Europa League and we've got the Capital One Cup final to look forward to and hopefully we can go far in the FA Cup. As for the Premier League I think over the course of the season we won't be able to keep pace with Manchester United but we're definitely on for another top four finish and more Champions League football next season.
