An up, down and then go for the real up could also be a possibility. Altho you always have the risk that the board doesn't like the down. But as you have done the up,down, up before (and it worked great). I would aim to atleast get into the play-offs.

Yeah I'm happy with whatever happens because staying up was always the goal this season.

Looking good so far - if you maintain this form, you can make the playoffs. But I would agree with you that it's better to wait until next season before you make a push for the Premier League.

So a place in the playoffs looks unlikely with five games to go and although I'm disappointed about that there are massive positives. The most obvious is the fact we've clearly stayed way away from relegation this season and on course for a top half finish. We've also struck lucky in the FA Cup and now find ourselves one game away from a place in the FA Cup final. We've had a really lucky run thanks to the draw and only faced Premier League opposition in Norwich City in the last round.

It is isn't it?

We've been so lucky if I'm being honest because we've avoided any big sides until the game against Norwich and even then that was at home which is a huge help when you're facing a Premier League side. Hopefully the magic of the FA Cup will see us triumph over Southampton, we'll need a huge slice of luck to advance because they're sitting 6th in the table at the moment.

I'm not 100% certain but I think it goes to the next team in the Premier League unfortunately.

So if we win it we get a Europa League spot and if not we get nothing.

We got quite lucky in the end, I mean they smashed the post and crossbar six times which I don't think I've seen a team do before. I thought when they scored the equalizer in the 90th minute they'd pump us in extra time but we held on and penalties is always a lottery and thankfully this time we got the job done!!

So in the end our Championship season kind of just ended without much to cheer about. A combination of fatigue and injuries certainly didn't help but a final finish of 15th isn't that bad considering we were tipped for relegation at the beginning of the season.

The biggest game in the clubs history came a week after the Championship season had finished at Wembley when we faced Arsenal in the FA Cup final and although we did ourselves proud we didn't have enough to overcome the Gunners. Despite the heartbreak of losing in the FA Cup final we've benefited from our amazing run to the final at Wembley with a place in the Europa League next season as Arsenal qualified for the Champions League after winning the Premier League title, so really being beaten by the best team in England isn't all that bad.

Ahead of the new season I've brought a few players in and a few of the younger lads with potential have gone out on loan. Experienced striker Billy Sharp was getting on so I replaced him with Shane Long who I'm hoping will bang in a few goals whilst I brought in Marcus Perry on a permanent deal and Derek Dunn who are the future strikers for this club. I also made sure we got Alan Mladicek on a permanent basis after his fantastic first season at the club whilst on loan and personally I feel as if we can compete for a place in the playoffs.
