its been many a year since ive played this game and attempted to download all the packs etc
sorry if this is proper basic but could do with a little help. Ive downloaded the megapack and all seems good. Can anyone tell me what the next steps are? Im currently attempting to unzip the file which to me seems to be taking far too long. Is this normal? Also after ive unzipped it do I then just cut/copy the folder into the graphics/pictures folder? I waited 2 hours for the megapack i presume im doing something wrong that im having to wait the same again to unzip the file. Any help for a complete novice would be great. Thanks

It's a 36.5GB file, be prepared for it to take a good while to extract. If you want to speed the process up, have as few programs running in the background as possible so that the system can dedicate all its resources to the extraction process.

I suspect it's a config issue. Download the most recent update pack and install it. Not only will it have the most recent and correct config, but you'll also get some more backgrounds to boot 👍

I did but I can try installing it again. Is that the correct folder?

I'm not seeing the full path but if the bit before graphics is Documents \ Sports Interactive \ Football Manager 2021, then the location is fine.
If you've downloaded it already, I don't think you installed it properly, because the date modified of the config file is 13 November, while the update pack was released a week or so ago, so the config file should be dated around then.
Besides, this is what it looks like on my system (ignore the path, it's on an external hard disk):
I don't know if you've renamed the folders yourself or if you've downloaded some other file, but that's not how it should look.

The problem is that you have renamed the folders 🙂
The config file "looks" for folders named as the are downloaded. If you change the name of the folders the config can't locate the files.

I have a technical problem with a city background that I added myself to the initial version of the Megapack.
The club I am playing with (FC Annecy, ID: 85052735) did not have a background picture so I added it and edited the config.xml file. It worked just fine.
But today, I downloaded and installed the .01 version, and while the picture is still in the right folder and I edited the config file again, I can not see it in-game anymore. Is there a reason for that?

Always difficult to advice on custom changes... But in this case... no there is no obvious reason 🤷♂️

Well I personally think that the complete pack makes you game much more enjoyable 😀.
At the moment you can only download the full pack and not just parts of it (this is something we aim to offer in the future).
But you can put only the inside_stadium in you game if you wish:
1) Download the full pack from here (using chrome so you can resume any interruptions in your download)

2) put only the inside stadiums in your graphics folder
3) use this little app to make a stadium background config for your inside stadiums (drag the folder on to the app):

4) open the config with notepad and press Ctrl+h and replace (all) "background" with "stadium" and save the config.
All the config lines should then look like this :
<record from="xxxx" to="graphics/pictures/stadium/xxxx/stadium"/>

Yes... if you download the full pack there is a persons folder that has pictures of staff and players.
But why not use the full pack when you have to download it anyway 😉

I agree that using the whole pack is better but i have always loved TCS skins but the backgrounds when using it with TCS only shows the top half of the background and not at the bottom half of the screen, Thanks for the help.

If (when) you use chrome you should be able to resume any interruptions in your download. Otherwise use the torrent and apply the updates afterwords.
