Site issues - reporting thread

The FM Careers and FM Records in the top menu is blank.

I temporarily disabled it while trying to debug some slowness on the site.

It'll be back by morning UK time, just upgrading our caching abilities 🙂

I've fixed an issue where by very popular topics such as the real name fix would cause subscribers to receive 1 email per comment when subscribed to comments, which resulted in some individuals receiving a whopping 137 emails today.

You will now receive only one email per day UNLESS you read the topic, in which case it will be reset and you will be notified the next time there's a comment, but not for 24 hours after that, unless you read it again.

Apologise for any inconvenience caused to those who received alot of emails.

I'm also planning on adding more fine-grained controls so you can decide exactly how often you receive these notifications.

One minor thing, having this is a great little feature:

However, it's not currently able to distinguish when the file itself was updated or the main post was. The site is somehow able to distinguish it, because I don't get a notification prompting when that the file was updated - but this feature doesn't quite yet.

Not sure if I've explained it properly.

@Footygamer , this is happening again. May be it messed up again after updating to FM22 database.
 

About the other problem with the “stucked” amount of pendings in Browse Images on Continental level - they changed once today (I believe that is connected to the update to FM22 database too).

Hmm I can't actually figure out what's going on here, but i've rewritten this in a smarter way so it shouldn't happen anymore either way.

Hey can you help me out with some very explicit examples, i'm super busy at the moment with the game launch and I just faffed around for ages trying to see find examples only to get confused because some of the players you uploaded where free agents. (see below)

If you could just say this exact player should be appearing for this exact team/league/nation/continent and is/is not it would speed things up rather than me spending the time trying to find which ones you've already spotted.

EDIT: There seems to be some issues with the imports where players are assigned to second clubs e.g. Botev Plovdiv 2 vs Botev Plovdiv i'm not sure if that's exactly what you were talking about or not, like I said, much easier if you're explicit than me spending the time trying to figure it out.

I'll keep working on this issue with players in second teams.

@Footygamer, just wanted to be sure you were aware of this issue wherein users can't download 2022.00 update packs if they so wish to, but have to download the full 2022 megapack.

This seems to be the case not only for the cut-out megapack but also for the metallic logos one…

 Whoops, sorry. Fixed now.

Should also now be clearer which ones are the start of the game and the ability to download complete packs and torrents from that list

@t.marinov I fixed some issues with graphic counts and players in b teams, let me know if you're still having issues.

Excuse me, @Footygamer , may be I wasn't clear enough in my previous comments.
The only thing that isn't working properly right now is the counter of the pending images ONLY on Continental level. I'll give you an example with Oceania.
 

Here you see that the pending images are 11. Which isn't correct.

When you click on it, you see only 4 pending submission.

If you open the Nations in Oceania, you also see only 4 pending images:

So these 11 pending images for Oceania should be 4. Or I'm missing something?

The problem with the number of players when you are on Competition level - like it was with Botev Plovdiv - seems to be fixed. I haven't seen it recently.

I got a bit muddled before with the b teams, I think that was probably a bigger deeper issue you didn't even notice but both are fixed now anyway.

For a long time the activity feeds on users profiles have been unreadable due to quotes and html's getting formatted strangely, this has now been fixed 🙂

@Footygamer would it be possible to make it possible to filter or group notifications? I've encountered a few times that I've missed some quotes/tags because it's buried under a lot of cut-out notifications.

I can't download team changes

@Footygamer Was removing clicking an image in a post/comment to open it in the “gallery view" intentional? (e.g. one of the images in the comments on this timeline) You can still view cutouts in the gallery view in the same way so just wondering, although I think the fade transition for the black background takes a bit too long

I agree, a complete rewrite of the notifications system is planned for the next few weeks 🙂

Nope I upgraded the gallery plugin and this has accidentally been lost. It seems like there's some issues with the new plugin and images not loaded over https aren't working. I've reverted this for now

@Footygamer when viewing a cut, the buttons in the right top corner to download etc. aren't visible anymore. You can still click on them tho

The green bars in the cut-out megapack are gone.

I've added this to do the todo list but it needs some thought. I don't want people to get confused and add requests as game ready images then they have too many.

p.s. you can also get around it if it's a “response” to another.

I'm assuming it's rare that a game ready image isn't either a response or in a pack? But perhaps i'm mistaken.

It's a relatively small proportion of game ready images that aren't either a response or in pack, we do get a handful a day. But it's not as rare as hen's teeth either.

My bad, I completely forgot about "upload response" button.

You could make game-ready uploads only accept 250x250 and 180x180 cuts to limit users from using game-ready uploads as requests. It's a good limitation to have nonetheless. I don't believe regular users will go through the hassle of resizing and cropping the image to make a request. 

I can't upload an image, when I select the image and click on submit it disappears (next to Image) and an error about no valid url appears 

the problem started about ~10h ago, upload for 3 other pictures worked well before
