Frequently Asked Questions

If you've never downloaded the pack before, you should just download the larger "complete pack".

If you're not a premium member, it is recommended that you download the base megapack via torrent by going to our cut-out megapack download page. After which, you should then download all the update packs released to date and apply them chronologically.

If you're a premium member, just download the most recent complete pack.

If you already have a version of our Cut-Out Faces Megapack installed, then click "Download Latest Changes" and you'll be presented with a list of all the updates we've released since you've last downloaded a file. Simply download any you might have missed, applying the oldest first and continuing to apply update packs in the chronological order in which they were released.
Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. You need to use Winrar (or a similar program) to extract the downloaded file.

Contrary to previous versions of the game, there is no need to change any settings in the preferences in FM26.
You need to copy and overwrite the faces and the new config file from the update pack into the faces folder.

If done correctly, you should be asked if you want to overwrite files – accept. You should have one folder for faces and another folder for iconfaces, and no sub-folder whatsoever in them.

These steps are to be repeated for every update pack downloaded, and they are to be installed chronologically.

Watch this YouTube tutorial video, which should you guide you on the steps you need to follow to install it. It might be for FM24, but the steps are exactly the same.
It's a known issue with FM26 - read this. We're assuming this issue will get resolved in upcoming official patches/updates.
The new players were added before FM26 was released and didn't have the right UID yet. We've started the process of mapping them to the correct person's UID.
When you have a blank space instead of a cut-out, it means there is a config file pointing to a folder in which an image with that UID is not present. This generally happens when an update pack is installed in a separate folder and not part of the overall faces folder, or there is a rogue config file somewhere. It could also be that you have somehow not downloaded the full megapack but only part of it. Search within the graphics folder for the UID of this person, and you will probably find the secondary image. Delete that folder, and it should be fine.

Otherwise, follow the steps in this comment and post the results so that we can assist you.
In line with guidance on the official SI forums, At present, FM26 cannot handle multiple files with the same name. For example, if you have two files with the name "kit.png", it will not load both. and Player Faces: These work fine. You do not need the icon files anymore, and they can cause issues with the note above. Delete them.

As a result, the iconfaces are no longer available for download because they're not needed. You should also delete the iconfaces folder manually from your system too 👍
You need to change your user data location. Simple steps on how to do so can be found here.

It is recommended that the user data location is not placed within the Steam installation folder as this may cause issues.
The torrent file includes the base megapack uploaded just before that year’s FM version is released. Any and all subsequent update packs are to be downloaded separately.
For those who have never used torrents, in the vast majority of cases, it's just a question of downloading the client program (a small file, less than 1MB) and then downloading the megapack torrent file (a tiny file, around 20k) and then letting the program do the job.

Torrent files need a torrent client to be downloaded. I personally use µTorrent but other common clients are BitTorrent, Vuze and Deluge. For those using torrents for the first time, here is a general walk-through on how to download torrents and a specific guide for µTorrent.

Be aware that it will take a substantial amount of time to download the file due to its sheer size and that other people depend on you hosting the file to get it so please leave your torrent client on after you have fully downloaded it. The etiquette is generally accepted to be to upload as much as you download, although this might not always be possible. The older the torrent file, the less likely it is that there will still be users seeding it.
Please report this so that they can be reuploaded. Since the files are hosted outside our pages, there isn't much we can do about this unfortunately. You could try downloading the pack via torrent and get it this way.
Extracting the file will take a while, but it shouldn't take the hours and hours that the program extracting will sometimes say it will. To speed it up, it is recommended that you have as few programs running as possible so that the system can dedicate as many resources to the extraction as it possibly can.

Secondly, for files as large as this, the calculation of the extraction time will be wildly incorrect at the start. After a while, it'll show a more realistic timeframe, which shouldn't be more than an hour or two if you have a good setup and few programs running at the same time.
You might have a poor internet connection or your browser might have some extensions which interrupt this download. Having loads of downloads ongoing and/or streaming may also de-prioritise this download.

Try using Google Chrome in incognito mode (or the equivalent mode for other browsers) and you should be able to resume the download from the point it was interrupted, if that happens.
The most recent update pack will include the most recent config file, so you can choose to download it and use it from there.

Alternatively, you can download fmXML and generate a config yourself. There's a video on YouTube on how to use it but it's really easy and the instructions are quite straight-forward.
Down the years, after an update pack was released, it was noted that some images included therein where of the wrong person, with a wrong extension or duplicated. Due to the way the download system is structured, these cannot be removed from the download, so there may well be a couple of hundred images’ worth of difference, depending on the version you download.
Our megapack covers 25,000 teams and it's impossible to cater for these kind of requests since players and staff get transferred or sacked or retire etc and recreating and reuploading 25,000 different smaller packs would be an impossible task. That's why we have all the images in a megapack so that everything is captured therein.
These persons do not appear in the default database for licensing reasons. This means that they only appear in your save-game because they were added via a custom file, generally the real name fix file. However, this means that their UID (which is what is used to map a person's image to the right individual) is different, and so the game cannot assign the image to them from your existing facepack.

To get them to show, you should individually download any previously available cut-out faces from here (or use the UID to find them in your existing facepack if you don't use the cut-out megapack), put them in a separate folder to your existing facepack and create a config file just for them using the method outlined in here (which works for all facepack styles, not just the cut-out megapack).

Hi everyone. Since yesterday the iconfaces don't show on my game. All the other graphics (faces, kits, icons, small icons, trophies) working great. But iconfaces not working. Do you know what's happening?

Thank you.

Graphics don't just stop working unless something has been changed. Whatever it is that you did to (unintentionally) make them stop working, download the latest update pack(s) and install it. It might be the case that the new update's iconfaces config file would resolve whatever your issue might have been.

If not, then please upload a screenshot of your iconfaces folder and whichever folder(s) within the graphics path which you edited yesterday (or the day before as the case may be 😉 )

You're ever so slightly out-of-date - we've had a request forum for something like 5 or 6 years now, and it's been in the present guise for over a year now 😉

There's something confusing me. I downloaded all the complete packs that there is so far since 2011.

But I was wondering, are the complete packs a compilation of all the litle changes that were released during the year? I am asking this because the sizes of the small files and the size of the complete pack in the end  doesn't seem to correspond somehow.

I am sorry in advance if there is something basic that I am missing, I tried to figure it out before posting.

Cheers everyone.

The complete pack at any one point in time is the base 202x pack + any update packs released to date.

The difference in filesize is easily explained by the fact that (a) there will be some images in multiple update packs (and only one cut can be included in the complete pack) and (b) there will be thousands of images which are improvements, which will overwrite the cut in the base pack.

E.g. if 1234.png in the base pack is 100KB, 2022.01 has a cut of 80KB and 2022.04 has a cut of 90KB, the actual filesize in the megapack won't be 100kb+80KB+90KB, but just 90KB 😉

Ok, got it, thanks for the explanation.

But, does the last complete pack of 15Gb include all the other complete packs?

I had +30Gb on images last year (an accident with my hard drive deleted +10 years in cut out facepack images) so i am finding it confusing having only 15Gb

Wow, I am impressed, you actually managed to make a 10+ years of work into a 15Gb file! Congratulations.

I feel a bit silly now, since I've downloaded all the complete packs since the 3.00 untill the 2022 and have been installing them for the last couple of days, one by one…

Why on earth didn't you ask before?! 😢

Although I'm a member for more than 10yrs, I don't participate much. And I guess I was afraid of asking something basic and bother everyone, the problem was my understanding of it, so i kept reading the entire page over and over looking for something referring to that complete pack being the entire package since 2011.

Now that I look at it, It's clear it says, “complete pack” but i was skeptical about the size, now that you explained the awesome work you did on compressing the files, I get it.

Thank you for your help, best regards to everyone in Sortitoutsi.

first question is does cut out faces work on older versions of FM ? for example FM17?

I only copyed faces, not iconfaces, and this is the result. Some players are fine like firminho, but some like coutinho are just that weird grey image.

In Liverpool squad there is 8 ppl with proper faces, rest have this “bug”.

You may not be aware that when 22.00 was released, the file size was compressed considerably. While the megapack works perfectly well for FM22, there have been some reports that some images display in this manner in older versions of the game. It's not a question that the megapack is not backward-compatible but that some of the images may not display properly.

My suggestion would be to download the 10.0 torrent file and use that one instead. It's the megapack for FM18 and so it will include all the images from FM17 😉

Thanks for that. It's probably a by-product of the fact that the update packs are actually created automatically based on files that I upload on FTP. Looks like the 2 original cuts (768274 and 91185039) where the .PNG files as they're not appearing in the respective cut-out page and that the more recent cut-out is fine. I'll include it in the next update pack to be safe

P.S. They won't look any different because (a) they're of the same player after all and more importantly (b) FM doesn't read .PNG files but only .png files, for some arcane reason.

P.P.S. Is that Sensi in your avatar?

Worth noting these files are still there in 2022.0. Is it worth removing the old .PNG versions from future complete packs to avoid confusion? Not sure if it's safe to rely on extractors choosing the right one on case-insensitive systems like NTFS (7-zip asked me to choose which one, but I suspect some may choose wrongly).

Once they've been added to the megapack, they can't be deleted, unfortunately. While in an ideal world the .PNG files are removed from the megapack outright, retaining them doesn't really make any difference at all since the game won't read them anyway.

It's not ideal for case-insensitive systems, I agree, but it's not worth overhauling the whole megapack generation structure for a handful of images.  It's 2 faces and 2 iconfaces from 350,000, after all.

Anyway, if it affects someone, it's very easy for them to download the current cut from the site to replace the “bad” image in their files. And if it doesn't affect them, they'll be none the wiser.

Working fine at my end 😕

Seems to be an issue with the file that Firefox downloads (possibly triggered by extensions though I haven't tested). I used an alternative browser and it downloaded a non-corrupt, working file. 🙂

After downloading the file here when I tried to extract it it told me it would take 9 hours and despite leaving it it wouldn't go down. I don't have that time to leave my laptop on, does anyone know why this is happening or any sort of work around to make this work better or is this just how long it takes?
